Thats interesting....It might lower the number of violent people in China but it also does have the bad things to go along with it.

i mean imagine being tried as an adult for underage virtual murder

i mean they still believe dragons are real and stuff

Well I think it migth be a good thing. It will improve mmorpgs communitys alot. But I cant say I suport the idea aiming at mmorpgs were you kill people. First person shoters are alot worse.

But the age on mmorpgs is great! I hope developers all over follow suit!

BTW, do you have a link supporting your claim on this?

I could care less. Personally I think the law should be:
Anyone who can't fix their own damn computer can't buy one.

Oh lord... lil snitty today? It were a joke! Seeing as I'm a Network Engineer and all... it's not exactly like I'm rooting for the IT industry to collapse! I had to deal with the layoffs in 2001 too y'know.

The link was posted on the official WoW general forums..something like "WoW China = pwned".  The news post was a little questionable (considering it came from a Russian news source and not a Chinese news source).  But sorry...I'm too damned lazy to dig through that mess to find it image

They should inforce that law in North America!

I mean, if they did that, just watch the maturity level of the community instantly become better.

    ___________ ___ __ _ _ _
    Stealth - Ambush - Hemorrhage - Sinister Strike x2 - Cold Blood - Eviscerate - Vanish - Preparation - Cold Blood - Ambush - ... you're dead! :P

Well, I am actually surprise that it was legal in the first place..............

enforcing this law in ANY country will do nothing to any kid under 18 that wants to play an MMORPG, contrary to popular beleif big brother DOES NOT SEE EVERYTHING YOU DO, if they did there wouldn't be piracy, terrorism, or hacking going on. (and no, for you conspiracy theorists, the Echelon system doesn't exist)

second, the maturity level will probably see no real increase, as people over 18 still act like script kiddies and can still "roleplay a jackass" as one person put it to me so politely once. Will the maturity level increase? yes, but it won't increase on a great scale.

They can go ahead and enforce that law here in a few months (after my 18th birthday ::::39::).

USA is headed in the same direction, republicans like bush/cheney/ashcroft/deley if they had their way would ban everything except fox news and christian broadcast network.

aren't those two in the same? ::::39::

Luckily, only 51% of the country (if that) wants to have the country head that way. In any case, i'm moving to amsterdam.

no way would this ever happen here. i mean if they dont ban games like gtasa why would they put a age limit on a "T" rated game? this is usa not a frickin communist country like china. besides there is far to much money in this industry to just ban kids from playing. think about it... if they did that because of the "fighting" think about how many other games that have violence that they would have to do that to....
