Anyways, how come none of you TERA fans were this hyped last year at this time?
........
Why weren't you playing the game last year when it was in beta?
....
KR beta was in late winter last year.
Because last year we didn't have so many people bashing the game, we didn't have to defend Tera last year against endless amount of people claiming the game will fail simply because they don't like it.
Also if by last winter you mean 2010 than ya, KTera been out for a years now.
Doesn't remind me that much of UO. Reminds me more of EQ. Very linear.
Doesn't remind me whatsoever of EITHER UO or EQ. It remidns me HEAVILY of WoW, Rift, Allods, and SWTOR.
Linear questing 1-58 is freaking terrible. ALL of my friends, whom i talked into preordering it with me, have quit before ever reaching level 20.
We played for 7hrs straight today and on the 7th hour they ALL quit (all 4 of my friends!!) leaving me groupless :'(. I hit lvl 20 by the 8th hour, and I myself am feeling the strain. The game, quite simply, reminds me HEAVILY of L2 in some aspects, but the linear hand-held questing is absolutely the most boring thing i've ever seen.
Additionally, I'm pretty much FORCED to do the linear quests. If i try to go out and randomly kill things the "Resting" mechanic completely stops me by the 10 or 15th kill because then my Stamina drops below 90% (which affects your HP, MP, and Regen rate....the tiny bit that there is) and i have to go back to town & find a campfire to rest at. Campfires themselves are rediculously expensive below lvl 35, so you end up blowing all your money on campfires, potions, or bandages (nearly worthless too).
So far, I'm considering cancelling my preorder .
Let me guess the game you and your friends come from?
Tera failed everywhere it launched namely Korea its homeground and Japan. I doubt the game can miraculously revive from death in the west and even beat Guild Wars 2. If you have followed guild wars 2 development, you would know GW2 is light years ahead of Tera.
GW2 is not ahead of TERA in graphics, animations and possibly optimization, from what I have seen and heard from BETA testers. Also, how do you still think it failed in Korea, it is still P2P and the 10th most played game in Korea. Lets see where it ends up after the expansion coming in a few days. It failed in Japan because the sub fee was 35USD a month and Japan doesnt like subscription MMOs in the first place.
it failed on asia cause they need money and they charge money by month for an uncompleted game thats it!
anyone who tries to claim any game to be the best since UO right now is a idiot. there is too much to be released, give it afew months until all 5 games are released then bring up ths topic.
Because i can. I'm Hopeful For Every Game, Until the Fan Boys Attack My Games. Then the Knives Come Out. Logic every gamers worst enemy.
End game is going to consist of instanced battlegrounds and dungeons. Typical carrot on a stick gear grind. Nothing like UO or EQ. Open world will be non existent. Everyone will be instanced grinding epics. Could've been the sequel to L2 but they chose a themepark model. Wake me up when they add territory control in owpvp and castles sieges. Until then its rift with a different combat system.
Oh my god yes. I've played it for a good while during the testing periods and it is great. And let's not forget it's more than 2 months since its release. It will be really really epic, indeed. I can't wait to get my nasty hands on the political stuff too.
Really questing so much importan for so much tools? No one cares about questing when they reach end game and start pvp. You should go back probably to single player rpgs they deliver better questing and story experience then most mmorpgs.

TERA is a seamless open world and already has territory control with OWPvP...
Also they have some open world endgame dungeons I believe.

Are you joking? It's not open world at all, every zone is sharded just like in SWTOR.

Ummm open world PvP, 24hr guild wars, political system to control area and even contients, soon there be massive PvE event, Server VS Server, and 10-20man raid. If you don't like these kind of end game than most mmorpg aren't for you.

Because they want to make the game sound bad, quest is pretty standared, idk when standarded = bad...ok beside the American education system, They pick on it beause thats Tera biggest weak point and to me its not much a weak point because i never give a damn about quest in any game beside Dragon Nest. Any mmorpg you play for a over a years maybe 10% of the time it spend on questing to lvl to cap, (not grind fest game ofc) and rest is spend on end game stuff. SWTOR had great quest but end game was empty yet no on seem to bash it as hard as people bash Tera. To be honest i don't know what these people are thinking i love to know why they feel the need to make the game look bad by all means.

If by sharding as in channel ofc there is ch, you have any idea how bad it is to not have ch with the amount of people playing? Start of CBT this weekend there was a glitch and there was only one ch in the area right after you leave the first island. Ya people were stuck there for 30-60mins doing 3 quest because so many people it was almost impossible to get your quest done. The amout of player mmorpg hold now day is way too large for any game to run w/o sharding.

I don't see how this game can even be compared to UO?
They're both MMOs, that's where the similarities end.
Sensationalist title to say the least.

It won't make it to 10 years. Not even close.
