Will this game have the same Log on crap that GW1 had?

Now I really HATE THIS with a passion and is a major turn off for me.

Please tell me this isn't in the game.

So your hating a game because you forgot your password ?

This. Nothing more and nothing less.

I had re-installed the first game, for what reason I still don't know, and I have not been able to log in at all, tried changing my password several times but I still can't get into the game. Yet another reason I am ho-hum about GW2, if these hoops are needed for the sequel then forget it.

That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming!

I keep a note book with all the passwords that i have used for games over the years so if i have the itch to play it down the road i just open the book and suprise i am up and running.     Always keep your passwords on a hard copy somewhere and keep them all in the same place (NOTE BOOK) .  Just to make life easy :)

Wasn't the password or character name

    it didn't reconize Snaylor47@ncsoft from snaylor47@ncsoft.

I don't care about innovation I care about fun.

Does GW2 innovate with cap detecting Dynamics?

Yes of course you didn't get anything wrong... it's Arenanet that doesn't RECOGNIZE caps.

I think they should hire you and you can teach them about case-sensitive words.

What amazes me is that you actually posted a topic on MMORPG about this and how you think NCSOFT is the same as ncsoft.

I tried every variation of ncsoft that I could think of.

How is anyone suppost to remember whether or not their user name was case sensitive? Password I can understand but username?

I really don't know what to answer without offending you... so I'll presume you're very young or inexperienced in ze internets and stop here.

Just a reminder.. case-sensitive logins are a norm in most respectable logins of any kind.

That's weird, my login is not case sensitive at all.

    I can use @NCSOFT, @NcSoFt, whatever.

Try some old email adresses as username.

Try contacting support instead of steaming off on some forums. They even work on weekends and are quite nice if you know how to talk to people.

After comming back to GW1 they added the security feature where you need to enter a character's full name. I couldn't remember any of my character's names so I contacted support and they got me set up fairly quickly.

I don't know what the big deal is, I have played a pretty decent portion of games where they ask you to type your email in all lowercase this isn't new, but its not standard either.

That you need to remember ur character name is BS, it was 2-3 years since last i playd it and when i went back to try it again i had no clue what i named my characters and it was not importand to remeber as they didt have that security at start.

Worst part is that gw offers name+surename.

I said screw it and bought new gw box but was very displeased with it, i rather let people hack the account then giveing em back to the company that made em, atleast someone would have made use of that account.

So....you just forgot your password....that...isn't the fault of the game...sorry.

As for why it's nessesary, it might not be. But if extra security like that stops accounts from getting hacked or stolen, i'm all for it.

Bought my 1st GW1 game in 2007, didn't really like it at the time and didn't play for a LOOONG time and when I tried it last year again, they had that char name installed. I was like 'WTF? How am I supposed to know what char I had on that old account?". made a ticket, but ArenaNet wasn't really helpful to give a char name at first (though I had the feeling they would if I posted all my info on the NC master account). Luckily I had an old screenshot somewhere and was able to get an char name back.

I think GW has one of the best account-protection systems in place at the moment, and I would not mind to see something similar impemented in GW2!

I decided to check out GW1 again after like.. 5 years? And I get asked for a character name.. yeah, luckily it only took about 30min after I sent in a ticket about it to get the name. Worst thing was that I knew my characters name since I use the same(ish) name in almost every game but GW also has (forced I think) surnames and those I just random since so few MMOs have surnames so I spent 10 minutes   trying to log in without knowing that before I made a ticket.

    Wtf????????????????

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.

I'm not afraid to tell trolls what they [need] to hear, even if that means for me to have an forced absence afterwards.

P2P LOGIC = If it's P2P it means longevity, overall better game, and THE BEST SUPPORT EVER!!!!!(Which has been rinsed and repeated about a thousand times)

Common Sense Logic = P2P logic is no better than F2P Logic.

Considering more games are going to this kind of system, SWTOR and recently Rifts new security spring to mind, I'd be willing to bet GW2 will have something similar.
