Let's not overhype it though. There will be plenty of people who will try and not like ArcheAge and then flame it.
Game itself will not be ideal , remember there is strong possibility that you won't like something in this game ,something that even might make you annoying.
Still Imo game shows promise and it is actually 1 of 2 mmorpg;s I am waiting for and ONLY mmorpg that I see myself playing long-term.
Guys i strongly believe archeage will save sandbox genre, even though it is made by koreans. I assure you, the director of archeage is famous, he is the grandfather that started the largest asian mmorpg especially in korea, he has tons of money and expertise behind it. What is more the director clearl stats he wants more of UO sandbox feature into this game.
guys, this game isnt a clone of any themeparks at all, this is it, the real deal, its not from unknown game development team .
This game is also not from some small indie with small budget. We are talking big big fnancial development team.
Not just sandbox but also pve epic boss fights included with your clans and guilds. Merg sandbox elements with pve= winner.
This game is also was inspired by UO according to the director. from sandbox crafting materials, to guild vs guild pvp, sieges, build houses and your own castle. Amazing huge potential.
I did not mention the director of archeage is the asian counterpart of richard garrott.
Although I too am keeping a keen eye on ArchAge as a Sandbox title it's always a good idea not to hype something like this without having even tried it. I've seen countless times (most notably from SWTOR, and RIFT) where people claimed the game would "save" our market (albeit not aimed towards sandbox crowed, but the same general idea).
Most importantly, again, none of us have tried it. So there's no point in making threads like this as it will only entice anti-Sandbox trolls out of the woodworks.
Lastly, let's be fair here. ArchAge most likely won't even release in NA until 2013 or late 2014.

I don't see how AA will 'save' sandbox genre if it isn't a full sandbox MMO like UO, SW or EVE, but more like a sandbox-themepark hybrid. I do think it'll make a case for merging sandbox and themepark features into 1 MMO though, something that sounds like the only real progression path for future MMO's to me, combining the strengths of both design paths. It all depends on the execution of their ideas and features though.
This game actually has stuff for you to do. You don't log in just because it's time to do your daily raid then log out and play something else or level up another character. This game is as just as much for crafters as it is for pvpers and pvers. Me and a friend were talking for 2 hours about the game over Ventrilo and at the end of the conversation he says ' you know, this whole time we've been talking I could have been planting trees or doing something contructive in the game while chatting whereas other MMOs you just stand in town '. It gives you small things to do but you're always progressing at something, you pretty much decide what goal you're going towork towards that day.
Yeah I have been keeping an eye out on this awesome title for some time now. I wonder when this game will come out here in the States. 2012 is out of the question. I see a 3rd or 4th quarter 2013 release (unless they are working with all cylinders behind the curtains). It is nice to see a properly funded sandbox MMORPG game, something that is extremely rare to find these days.

It has peace time having fun, and battles, all sandboxish. Let's not forget CryEngine.
