Both have a trial,so nothing lost sampling.

Ive been having a problem understanding this? "Target and accommodate to children" I dont see it just cuz it got easier for the more casual players the game is still very adult. A quest in forsaken starting area consists of you sitting on a cannon and blowing worgan to bloody pieces. And as for the "Pandas" they are alcholics i cant see that as kiddy. So this focusing on children is complete BS. They made it easier they didnt turn it into tellatubbies.

Whatever they did they sure seem to attract children and people who behave like them.  It's why I left.

I have a hard time believing this poll....Theres no way that Rift is 3 to 1 better than WoW.......ALso WoW came first and is much more original than RIft.....Rift simply took alot of elements from WoW/War/EQ2 and copied and pasted a game..... TO me it isnt even close and Im not a fan of WoW......THis is like saying a copy band of the Beatles is better than the Beatles.

What's wrong with a clone being better than the original?

    Mewtwo agrees with this sentiment.

Yes rift has some elements of wow this is true . but the game has improved on wow from what ive seen and played.

The mmorpg aspects are in rift everywhere i turn including just randomly questing.

When i was trying out wow this was only true in dungeon finder and raid finder.

The rest of the world was dead except in major cities. Also from what ive seen and played.

I have no reason to lie here i just tried out wow to lvl 74 and am now trying out rift so i can decide myself.

From my play experiences in both so far i have ran into more grouping situations due to rifts alone then i ever had in wow unless i qued up my toon in dungeon finder .

Im not a solo kind of player i only play games online for the multiplayer aspect of them and find rift has much more to offer in terms of grouping events and such.

Now when it comes to content id have to say wow wins . I also understand rift is only a year old as well so im sure the content is being developed as we speak .

This is my opinion as a new player to both games coming from everquest 2 of five years.

Take it how you will and thanks for reading.

Tried wow until i got to lvl 74 , not end game but i think i played long enough to know whats going on .

Its not a bad game , runs smooth , graphics arent bad in high def with ultra settings. Enviroments were great and changed alot.

Questing was your average mmo questing.

I enjoyed the dungeon finder to find groups

    The looking for guild feature

    the smooth animations and music.

Dungeon finder was ok for the most part but i ended up skipping alot of content using it and had to go back on my toon so i could experience it doing greyed out qsts.

Ui is ok only after using some addons for me anyway. The game felt simple to me i was a pally tank (prot) and basically had a 3 button rotation for aoe mobs and singel target , plus the few here and there you throw in before a fight or in between skills.

Honestly i got kinda bored with it . (The tanking part)  pull mash pull mash pull mash...

Alot of quests, factions, gear, and achievements to do so plenty to keep you busy though if thats your thing.

Wish character custimization was a bit better and didnt care for the transmog deal instead of just having appearance slots .

It limited your choice to be different. Was kind of a pain, if you like a hammer because you had to have a hammer for it to work ect ect.

If there gonna give us appearance options well open them up let us have em . everquest 2 does it , lotro, and rift.

Theres alot more to the game but i want to get to rift.

Overall wow has alot of things to do to keep you busy , while the questing part felt like a singel player game to me the dungeon maker si there to help you get away from it once in awhile .

Not a bad game and would play it if i wasnt playing rift now.

Rift i am only at lvl 15 wich i feel is ok to comment on minus end game , at least im able to use random dungoen finder ect.

The games are alike in a way but here ill just comment on the things i like so far that are different.

Character custimization is much better in my opinion minus the fact there are fewer races, They do need more starting areas as well , This is sort of overcome though do to the ability to change your role on the fly .Wich allows you to play a different role without starting over (plus with the mentoring system coming no need ).

Soul trees much like talent trees for wow are just overwhelmingly awesome , i love the fact i can make the toon i want to play without having to make 4 toons. Right now im a cleric healer using Warden heal over time heals , but i added in cabalist so i can drain there health as well . Trying it out and if i dont like that ill go back to pure healer with purifier just so many options.

Random rifts are a joy for me so far i hear alot of others saying they get old . ok with me i just go around them if i dont feel like getting involved.

Collections are fun and give nice rewards, the dungeon was much more involved to me and harder then the ones i tanked in wow , actually had strategy involved , the ones in wow i did from 15-74 were all turn and burn .Im sure end game is different but i cant comment on wows end game so no comment.

The graphics were also nice , more realistic to me and the spells had alot more effects than wows.

Didnt care for the horse in rift seems slow even know your going 60 percent faster .

I like how you can only greed on items your class cant use in rift .

Love how the storyline qsts are in gold so you know wich ones you should really pay attention to , helps with learning the lore.

Like how rift is newer and i can take my time and learn everything about the game and be there for the new content as its released.

Rift will be implamenting mentoring soon and this is a game keeper for me they had it in eq2 and this gives you even more things to do at end game .

You can re run older dungeons without everything being grey and still get rewarded for it , help out fellow guildies . ect.

Theres more i could talk about but the lists go on and on and for now im sticking with rift , i just prefer the soul trees, random events, collections, and all the grouping aspects of the game .

Then again the end game might suck i dont know , so just like wow no comment.

Wow felt  , to me like guild wars in a way Stormhold was the hub and i could go quest on my own or find a group it was just to much of the same over and over and over. Same as rift but  At least in rift events happened randomly and things changed on there own .Giving you a choice , quest hubs being taken over by mobs, ect.

Survival skill coming where i can setup a tent and a fire , mentoring,  at this rate rift even without massive amounts of content  will leave you with things to keep you busy ,Sometimes features can make a game better than content. Thats the way i see it anyhow. Or i hope..

But wow does have its qualities as well .Depends on what you want . More content  or more dynamic. There both goos games i am just prefering rift right now .We shall see.

This sir is a choice you will have to make .

I liked Rift better than WoW. Better graphics, more interesting talent trees, my server was active and friendly, better crafting, and within 5 minutes of logging in, I can be zerging it up out in the open gameworld with pvp, raid bosses and zonewide events/objectives.

WoW is like the AOL of MMOs. Once you know better, you move on.

I sit on a man's back, choking him and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all possible means - except by getting off his back.

    GW2

I wouldnt play WoW or Rift for free much less pay. In fact u can play WoW for free on private servers, some of which are better than live.  (which isnt saying much I know)

WoW numbers are inflated, league of legends has more active players than WoW. I would be suprised if blizzard still has 2 million NA active accounts.  I can't see panda crap improving much of the NA market either. (if anything it will nose dive post GW2)
