Man you Jedi whiners are a bunch of drama queens. You probably got ganked by one and need to just release frustration. Everything I am reading appears to be HIGHLY exagerated. I play on Bria and Bloodfin. I have seen TONS of classes. There is a few I dont see such as Doctor. Its now and then I see a large group of Jedi together. Even so, I have seen plenty of BH kill a Jedi. I even have screenshots too! You know what, Im gonna stick to the game and be a Jedi just so all the drama queens can cry about it. Ill update you on my progress in 9 months HahAH j/k

You can NOT put an alpha class in a MMO and make it work. Especially one where the only thing required to be the alpha class is time. Even my grandmother knows this and she has been dead 10 years.
That is what this is about. Its about them putting in an alpha class. And us telling them for 3 years it isnt going to work. Its about them always dancing around the problem and never admitting the truth. Its about jedi getting 3 refits while smugglers and whole sections of game get nothing. Its about them telling us they will be rare but they sure as heck are not. Its about jedi should NOT be in this game.
I mean come on. We can have a 500 post thread all telling them that we hate jedi and they need to go but the dev reply will be "So from what I can read here its the saber color that is the problem and if we add more you will all be happy right?". That is totally messed up.
And think about it like this. If we get no-jedi servers then us "drama-queens" (your also being dramatic here by the way...... sister) would shut up about jedi. Or are you scared, like the devs, that a no-jedi server would prove people like me are right?
Plus look at how many people left because of jedi. I am willing to bet alot, like me, would return to the game if there servers they could play on without jedi. And more subscribers out there means more resources to make a better game.
Games like L2 have around 2 million subscribers. TWO MILLION!!!! For a pile of botastic fun like L2. According to one site this game only has around 250k. I seriously doubt that as SOE has this tendancy to pad its numbers plus with all the double and triple accounts for one person I am willing to bet its about 100k less. But for sake of this I will say its spot on at 250k. That means a botfest game like L2 has 10 times the players as SWG. This proves beyond a doubt something is very severely wrong with this game. TWO MILLION!!!!! vs our 250k.
This is Star Wars for cripes sake. This game should turn all other MMOs into pong. SOE/LA had the perfect MMO universe right in there hands. I thought there was no way they could mess this up. I invisioned a game that would be number 1 for years. I felt (and still feel) it could be the Half-Life of MMOs. But they gotta take care of one huge problem and that is their alpha-class Jedi.

Right the BEST tactics meaning the jedi is AFK, at a Bazar with 50 windows up, and generally not paying attention and iyou'll still only win 50% of the time.
From a lore standpoint, Jedi are suppose to be rather powerful when compared to others. They where an "elite" fighting force that protected the peace of the entire galaxy.
A non - Jedi server would probably be good to represent the Rebellion era where the movie characters where pretty much the only ones. Now I think the "world" would need to be tweeked a bit to reflect the domination of the Empire over the known galaxy if the rebellion era was the case.
Now I guess the question is, how well does that translate to an MMORPG? I've only been playing a short time but I haven't really got the feeling Jedi dominate the game. Yes there are more then I expected to see but it doesn't really impact me so I don't worry about it. There are a couple of jedi in our guild and they dont run around with impunity. They are concerned about getting jumped by BH's. In fact I have to tell the group I'm approaching when I first join so they don't become visible or something. All in all, IMHO, they don't really impress me a whole lot.
I don't plan on making a Jedi or a Bounty Hunter as it seems there are more then enough of those around already. Pick something you like and have fun with it. If you dont like Jedi, then do something else.

Yes jedi are supposed to powerful. But as Revenge of the Sith showed they were not all powerful. I actually love that movie for only one section. Order 66. Watching all those jedi die like the punks they were. Really sad when one game can make you feel that way. Having to deal with the bug that is jedi in SWG actually made me giggle when I watched Zett Jukassa (Lucas' Son) getting gunned down by clones in front of Senator Organa.
But I think that is the big thing right there. Jedi used the movies as an excuse to their numbers. Always with "Some jedi survived." But I find it interesting when you bring up Ki-Adi-Mundi being shot down on the bridge or Bariss Offee being blasted by a tank then they want to use the whole "gameplay over continuity" arguement.
Yah some jedi survived. Yoda and Obi Wan for sure. And Plo Koon might have become a bounty hunter to survive but that is hear say. It is also possible Mace survived the fall. But Qu Rahn and Asajj Ventress is the only other jedi I can say for certain survived the purge.
But they want to use that as an example that others might have survived. Ok then lets also use Aayala Secura getting blasted in the back or Luminara Unduli getting nailed by clones on Kashyyk as proof that even a master jedi can get gunned down quite easily. Look at Ki-Adi-Mundi. He even saw it coming and still got nailed. Nah they wouldnt go for that. They would scream to nerf us.
So better yet give us a no-jedi server where we can go without the plague of jedi everywhere. Where the game matters and not one profession.
Dude i have the perfect scenario, i had just hit master Swordsmen when the first jedi padawan was unlocked, i was paid for tanking with ppl, now im just another weak fighter worth nothing, jedi do everything for free which forced me to start a crafting profession just before i quit because aparently everyone else had my idea to, screwing up the econemy once and for all, with a no jedi server then you can copy avatars to, i would come back to SWG in a heartbeat

Sorry dude. you say you do it regularly but I have seen it in real. I played SWG for longer then I care to count. I have done the PVP thing. I watched what a jedi can do. The other guys did everything right and still lost.
There is just too much evidence with the jedis out there now, the sploits they are using, and the majority of voices (including dev comments themselves) that shows they are just too much power for me to believe this. Maybe your just really lucky. Or you found a trick. I dunno but I just cant believe. I have seen too much this past month to tell me differently.

totally agree, there is so much mis-information about this on forums its ridiculous. There are jedi on my server (tarquinas) who can take on 2 MBH/MR, 1 MP/MS/carbineer, and a MCM/MR and he beat us easily, never even broke a sweat and yes I'm a veteran, OCT'03 pvp alot, we had food, buffs, spice good gear.
the funny thing is you go read the Jedi forums and all they talk about it how underpowered they are whine, whine, whine,...its unbelievable, after seeing these truly elite jedi in action I can't understand for a second where these whiners are coming from. Unless a jedi really made some tactical mistakes (or was afk) there is no way a single BH can win and I would have to see it myself to believe it.

Was a cold night... was raining. Was on Corelia (sp?) watching a Jedi play around killing reb guards. Also listening to all the people complain about the XP nerf. Jedi healed some of my wounds (what a nice guy).
3:45 am, Bounty Hunter approaches. Looks cool as hell IMO. Carrying either a Rifle or Carb. Runs by Jedi into Starport.
3:50 am, Bounty Hunter runs out guns blazing. Jedi takes a fall. Tries fighting back. I witness a wonderful lightshow. I have no idea which powers/skills they are using. Bounty hunter nearly dies. Jedi's HP is recovering. BH jumps back to his feet. Has Jedi is a tight spot again. Looked like the BH had combat medic skills. Jedi attempts to run. I follow the 2 as best I can. Before Jedi can reach past a lottery droid placed just outside the Meatlump turf he falls to his death. Bounty Hunter approaches, does something and then bows to his opponent.
This was on Bloodfin. The fight took some time and the BH nearly died quite a few times more than the Jedi did. He had skill though. So what I witness entirely contradicts what others are saying. This was one vs one unless you count me watching and clapping (when I could keep up)

Also there are some rather informative posts about how to take down Jedi with screenshots!!! I have found on the first 2 pages 4 posts of 4 different templates that people found sucessful and made a guide out of. There are many more but I haven't read them all.

Nope. I have never been a bounty hunter. I am CL 60 at the moment - crafter / fighter hybrid. But I know plenty of BH that have taken down fully templated knights 1:1. Also witnessed a few takedowns myself.
Heck , Naritus had a whole guild dedicated to that (the "Force Hunters"). And with Naritus being the seat of the Bounty Hunter Guild http://www.swghuntersguild.com/ we have plenty of experienced hunters.
A none-jedi server would be brilliant, i would activate my accounts for a server like that but i doubt they would make one.
I left the game just before the combat upgrade only because i liked the game as it was apart from the few minor things like bugs and profession stacking but apart from that the game was at it's best point from my view.
Either a none-jedi server or a pre combat upgrade server and i would be back there instantly, i mean that game is addactive lol. I completed my jedi holocron grind as fast as i could go, 24 profs in 46 days, just 1 30 mins before the holocron came to an end. After i completed my jedi grind on bria i moved to chilastra to grind another jedi and in the end became the first dark jedi guardian 6 weeks to get from initiate - Guardian.
I was so happy when i got my jedi but that soon went when i realised so many other people were getting jedi, i remember when i was 1 of a handful of jedis on bria. Then the devs said they have a much longer grind for jedi grinders which i was glad to hear. 18 weeks (6 phases) BANG! at least 100 jedi come into action.
I had a good idea for a jedi grind but it was never looked at but i i know for a fact there wouldc be so few jedi still today.
*idea* Put the holocron grind back but when 1 person completes the holocron grind everybody elses grind goes back to the start, that way there is 1 jedi every 3 - 6 months. 1 jedi ever 3 - 6 months that would leave no more that a dozen jedis right now .
Well sorry for going on so long, but the idea or a none-jedi server is a great idea.
With the effects the players had on the XP nerf if we could just get that to happen again for non-jedi servers I am willing to bet we would get them. But so far eventhough alot of people want them it hasnt been a big enough issue to get people to go to the matresses so to speak.
Dont know. I still dont think they will want to do it. I realized why they wont do it. Because without jedi the lack of content would truly stand out for most. And compared to games like Wow, L2, FFXI, and EQ2 they would be a content desert. But they dont realize we enjoyed ourselves before jedi.
haha you are all griefers ... think about it : SWG is built to make SOE money (like all video games ) .... and Jedi sells ...btw did you guys think about it ... Star Wars ...is in its essence always about the Jedis and their heroic deeds....hmm they should make the path harder for wannabe jedis on the current servs ...or get a new server where it takes 3 years to be one.... i seriously doubt this will happen ....errm look at everquest,wow and other mmos where most of the croud is high lvled ...and no1 is complaining about it ...

According to George Lucas himself the Star Wars movies is the tale of 2 droids. Everything is seen through their eyes.
And look at games that have no jedi. They are actually more popular then the jedi ones.
And did you think about the fact that more people have left because of jedi then are playing? How do I know? They admitted to selling over 1 million of SWG. And there are only 250k players.

A none-jedi server would be brilliant, i would activate my accounts for a server like that but i doubt they would make one.
I left the game just before the combat upgrade only because i liked the game as it was apart from the few minor things like bugs and profession stacking but apart from that the game was at it's best point from my view.
Either a none-jedi server or a pre combat upgrade server and i would be back there instantly, i mean that game is addactive lol. I completed my jedi holocron grind as fast as i could go, 24 profs in 46 days, just 1 30 mins before the holocron came to an end. After i completed my jedi grind on bria i moved to chilastra to grind another jedi and in the end became the first dark jedi guardian
6 weeks to get from initiate - Guardian.
I was so happy when i got my jedi but that soon went when i realised so many other people were getting jedi, i remember when i was 1 of a handful of jedis on bria. Then the devs said they have a much longer grind for jedi grinders which i was glad to hear. 18 weeks (6 phases) BANG! at least 100 jedi come into action.
I had a good idea for a jedi grind but it was never looked at but i i know for a fact there wouldc be so few jedi still today.
*idea* Put the holocron grind back but when 1 person completes the holocron grind everybody elses grind goes back to the start, that way there is 1 jedi every 3 - 6 months. 1 jedi ever 3 - 6 months that would leave no more that a dozen jedis right now

Well sorry for going on so long, but the idea or a none-jedi server is a great idea.
With the effects the players had on the XP nerf if we could just get that to happen again for non-jedi servers I am willing to bet we would get them. But so far eventhough alot of people want them it hasnt been a big enough issue to get people to go to the matresses so to speak.
Dont know. I still dont think they will want to do it. I realized why they wont do it. Because without jedi the lack of content would truly stand out for most. And compared to games like Wow, L2, FFXI, and EQ2 they would be a content desert. But they dont realize we enjoyed ourselves before jedi.

haha you are all griefers ... think about it : SWG is built to make SOE money (like all video games ) .... and Jedi sells ...btw did you guys think about it ... Star Wars ...is in its essence always about the Jedis and their heroic deeds....hmm they should make the path harder for wannabe jedis on the current servs ...or get a new server where it takes 3 years to be one.... i seriously doubt this will happen ....errm look at everquest,wow and other mmos where most of the croud is high lvled ...and no1 is complaining about it ...

And look at games that have no jedi. They are actually more popular then the jedi ones.
And did you think about the fact that more people have left because of jedi then are playing? How do I know? They admitted to selling over 1 million of SWG. And there are only 250k players.
