If people bought the game they most likely tried it, know what it's like and still like it. Otherwise they would ask for a refund. If I'm not mistaken the PvP servers have been more full than the PvE servers. You might not like the combat style but a lot of other people do and yes that is one thing that sets it apart from other AAA themepark MMOs.
How future changes will effect the game (battleground and general PvP rewards) will depend on how EME implements them.
If people grind gear too fast they will leave the game (just like they did in Korea)
You should tell that to EnMasse, I'm sure they haven't thought it out and studied the data from K-TERA's rocky launch.
I actually went ahead and asked this question on TERA forums (main-site). I got a few negative remarks, but alot of constructive and educated ones as well. That helped me understand more about the "Increased Drop-rates," had to take alot of heat though... tough trying to explain my thoughts, while trying to defend myself at the same time.

I'll say this though, I will probably not do that or start a thread for some time now, Lol.

Yea for some reason the official Tera forums are very hostile...the people on these forums are supprisingly calm for the most part though, this thread has some pretty good discussion.

See thats the problem...based on the beta that wasn't my experience. I basically just PK'ed in my questing area around level 14-20 on different classes and found that the majority of people just would run as soon as I attacked or went outlaw whether they were a higher level, lower level, or if they had more numbers.
It honestly seemed like a lot of players didn't want to PvP and were just trying to quest grind.
That's why I'm worried about OWPvP when these non-pvpers on a pvp server get a hold of a dungeon finder...Idk I just don't think insta teleporting dungeon finders belong on PvP servers.
I dont know what this EME is you're talking about, but i agree with you in wishing we still had to actually travel to the dungeons. Sure it takes time to do that, can even be up to 20 minutes(you know, to wait for the WHOLE group to get there) but still, its just catering way to much to be able to just teleport to a dungeon when you can't do it yourself without the use of the dungeon finder tool.
Aside from that, people saying dungeon finder kills open world pvp needs to wake the hell up. We're already forced to sit in towns spamming general, trade, lfg, guild recruitment trying to find a tank or healer, so stop spouting bullshit, its annoying.
Who is forcing you to sit in town?
When I am looking for group I go farm mats, craft, pvp, knock off achievements.
If a feature lets you teleport from the city into the dungeon, how does that promote pvp?
Well that's certainly unfortunate. If your offering constructive feedback, positive or negative everyone should be able to act like adults. The link you posted doesn't work but that might be because I'm using my phone right now.
I agree that teleporting is bad no matter if it's PvP or PvE. It's hard to get around that with a DF though and DF has been a well recieved feature overall since WoW introduced it (yes I can hear your groans people lol) so I'm stuck in the middle as to how to feel abou it.
For PvP servers if people don't want to PvP they can roll on a PvE server. If they still do roll PvP then at least as you'll get some additional action from them rather than none. If EME wants to temp more people to roll PvP they need to add some sort of meaning to being an outlaw IMO. The simple change of guards attacking a flagged outlaw would bring more people to PvP servers I think.
I need to dig a little further but I though EME was going BoP for dungeon gear. If this is the case the increased drop rate isn't that big of a deal since the extra unneeded gear can be broken down for enchanting.
I don't agree with the bonuses for doing through DF depending on the specifics. I see why, it's to get everyone to use the same method. It makes sense that way and if a full natural group can still sign up for the bonuses I guess it's not that big if a deal. If one of your natural group mates has to go your already in the system to get a quick replacement. /shrug

Oh yeah I of course forget to put the acutal link, sorry about that. I fixed it just incase you're still interested. Cheers
DF function helps some and just screws others. When you are in a large guild of same leveled people to group with I don't see the point of having it but since the rewards are better it is kind of suggesting people to depend on the system more then their own skills to find a party and socialize. You can get some really crappy people in your instances though, i've head desked quite a bit out of some of the idiots you can get paired up with. It's just a choice that they are giving people.I don't think it will have a long term impact..it's more if you let it effect you. The rewards might be a big issue though. Too easy for people to get geared up but i'm willing to sacrifice that to get some good old parties together and getting it harder way.
Just depends how you see the world and how you interact.
As a middleground I wish you still had to travel there, both for PvP and PvE emmersion. Like Stayontarget said it's a feature that is becoming standard.
Exactly how I feel. That reminds me of the early version of "some game"'s dungeon finder. It should have stayed that way too. No hassle with the shouting in LFG channels(Though I personally dont mind most of the time) while still using the beautiful world they created. I loved PvPing on the way or maybe finding a rare mob while en route to my dungeon. In conclusion, it definitely doesn't ruin the game for me, but I am a little disappointed it was implemented, this way, so quickly.
Ah, yeah I seen that thread Riot. If dungeon gear is BoP then the increased drop rates aren't that bad, though IMO unneeded, because it creates more crystals rather than an overabundance of gear.
My guess us that EME wants everyone to use the DF right off the bat. I hope you can have a full group and still enter yourself into the system for the reward. That way if someone does have to drop you have a quick replacement.
I'm glad EME wants to give us all these feature but I hope it doesn't get out of hand.
Originally posted by stayontarget I understand that games need to have the feature esp when the servers mature and less people will be in the low levels but I wish EmE would hold off on adding it until the game really needs it.
And have what happened to SW:TOR also happen to Tera? No thanks.
I was on a high population server and it was very hard to get groups for instances while leveling and at max level. I was a tank I would spam Fleet for an hour or so trying to get a group for Hard Modes.
Dungeon Finder isnt just to make getting groups for instances while leveling easier because most of the population is at max level, Dungeon Finder is also to make the max level gear grind less frustrating.
Having the Dungeon Finder at launch will mean its a fully integrated feature and not something that gets tacked on later.
Hopefully, more MMOs will implement Dungeon Finder and we can finally have the death of Tank LFG HM FoK PST Tank LFG HM FoK PST Tank LFG HM FoK PST Tank LFG HM FoK PST

SWTOR has to be the only MMORPG I've seen where a tank has difficulty looking for a group.
It has more to do with the fact people just weren't bothering to group at all because there was no real need, especially while leveling up , it was totally possible to easily get to 50 w/o ever running a single dungeon, I should know because I did it.
But for Tera I'm going to break down and play a Mystic and really try to focus on group play once I get to 20 and beyond so I welcome this DF.
