A level 50 weapon is available in Aion's new cash shop

Is this clearly not pay to win?
Comments
Well, it seems to be going that way at least. Pay2win is a bit overused right now but selling max level gear with stats in a itemshop is bad.
it is... in a way... Because this isn't max lvl weapon. Max lvl is lvl 55 and this weapon isn't that good when you look at lvl 55 weapons and is a very bad investment
It's a way for defining a P2W cash shop and if it continues that way it'll ruin the game completly.

DDO has been selling weapons in it's shop for years. There's no real difference. Is this weapon ultra powerful or something?
LOL... they already have those ... in Second Life.
Till there's weapons ingame with same/better stats it's not pay to win just like DDO.
You might argue it's pay to win but since you can go in some dungeon for a weapon which has the same stats but looks different doesn't make the cash shop pay to win but more accesible for lazy people or casuals.
True. I remember one of my friends worked as poledancer in a virtual club on sl.
DDO has had +1 weapons since 2009
EVE has had PLEX since 2008
EQ has had Station Exchange since 2005
Puzzle Pirates has been selling swords and ships since 2005
Project Entropia has been selling weapons and ammo to players since at least 2004
UO has been selling advanced characters at UOGameCodes.com since 2003
In each situation players can get equal or better items just playing the game. The sword in Aion doesn't guarantee a win and is easily surpassed by other gear available in game.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Yeah, pretty much my point. What's so "win" about this particular weapon?
Its a lvl 50 eternal weapon, its still decent for a combine or a lvl 50 twink but the new lvl cap is 60 and there are tons of weapons in game that are better.
Also it should be noted that this weapon was only available for a week and only if you spent 45 dollars pre ordering a large cube(it was a bonus item).
Will it happen again? who know only time will tell.
also you couldnt pre order anything from the store to be used on the new server as you need a char lvl 30 to apply it to, so none of these weapons will be on the new server
in 2 days you can hit lvl 30 now, and remember they do things like that just to gauge what teh player base will do, and since most people are morons they will be happy to give then money for items like this, you will see anything they will start to sell ap items and medals in they CS, really only for that tera is already winning from aion here in the west, and tera is alsmot the same then aion, just have a slower combat pace
The Aion vibe when it launched was P2W, which spawned hordes of gold sellers and hackers.
According to their "What is NCoin" Q&A:
Q: Will I be able to sell or trade items that I purchase in the Black Cloud Marketplace?
A: Most items you can purchase through the Black Cloud Marketplace can be traded between characters within your account, although all items are not tradable and some items have additional restrictions and conditions. You will also be able to trade and sell some items to characters outside of your account, although all items are not tradable and some items have additional restrictions and conditions.
They've made NCoin non-tradeable so maybe the gold-sellers will despawn, but with palaces costing 1 billion to buy and 20 million for weekly maintenance I'm betting someone will figure out a way to get in-game gold.
you can reach lvl 30 in 2 days if your a no lifer true, doesnt stop the fact that the event for the weapon is over and you can't get it anymore, which means there wont be any on the new server.
Doom and gloom is all speculation, as i said in my first post we will see. As a majority of the player base said they would wave good bye if ap and medals were sold by CS, as alot of differenct games are coming out soon it would be stupid(though not out of the question), so take you speculation elsewhere.
When or if it happens, then it might just be time to move on. the point is it hasnt yet so ill continue to play
Adding a lvl 50 weapon to the item shop? Really? That's sad, I hoped it wouldn't take the turn for p2w. Still gonna try it out though, I doubt I will play it long enough to reach 50,
for the last time(hopefuly) you can not buy the Taha weap in the store. It was a bonus item for pre-ordering a 45 dollar large cube, which ended when they brought the game down for patch and maint.
http://gameguide.na.aiononline.com/aion/CUBE+Promotion+Items%3A+April+2012 a link for info on the event which is now over
http://na.aiononline.com/store a link to the store and what is actually being sold there....
It was pay to win when you could buy the item to enchant all your gear without ever hoping to fail. Put +10 stats on every piece of gear and a weapon and tell me how hard someone hits now.
I see, thanks for the info.
Looking forward to trying it out.
Max level is 60 now,, and most of the veterans used level 55 eternals even before the new patch, which were better in the first place.
There will be some nasty twinks running around! XD
There are already tons of nasty twinks running around. I think dredgion is pretty much camped by twinks.
AoC has had max level gear with stats in their cash shop way before this. Granted the gear is pretty much crap but still, saying that Aion was the first with this is a lie.
AoC IIRC (haven't played in a while now and can't find where to get into the item shop without the game) also has several weapons and armor with stats on them for sale on the item store since it went F2P.
What can men do against such reckless hate?
Aion was never a good game.
I'll say this. Aion just went F2P yesterday and they don't gimp you like most F2P do.... so from that perspective, I have no problems with them selling weapons on the cash shop.

The critics disagree with you.
