With the Stress Test last Friday, and not hearing a word from them so they wre obviously doing something.
Do you think the beta will be this weekend because of what they have been doing?

I think it would be at the end of the month.
I'm really hoping for an end of month Beta Weekend. I have to move this weekend and it would suck to be driving across the country knowing that I could be knee deep in Guild Wars 2 beta instead.
Dont take me too seriously, but i recall having readen in these forums that they had some kind of trouble with the stress test (thats wht they are there for anyway). If they have issues to solve, beta will almost certainly be on last weekend. Besides, wed already know something about a download link by now if beta was on friday (i guess).
I have read on a few places that the beta is on the 20th. Not just that. Iv heard from people that were in the past beta that they got the links and invites on tuesdays and wednesdays (but they could be trolls to me). However I have read on a few places that the beta is on the 20th and im 90% certain that it is this weekend. Reason being the beta will not be at the very end of the month, Anet already said most betas will be held on the 3rd week of the month. I will look for these links and if i find them ill post them.
According to the official @Guildwars2 twitter, the only information give out is "near the end of the month". Personal guess is next weekend (27,28,29th).

But their doing a big 7 year anniversary of GW1 on the last weekend. Would thy do that, have 2 big events on the same weekend?

I'm thinking last week of April into early May is win beta's will take place. A release date being sometime after June

As i said id try to look for sources to my previous statements. I havent found any but i remember where i got the info that the beta is on the 20th. Certain retailers stated that if you prepurchase the game you will be invited in all beta events including the one on the 20th april. I am not gona look through retailers to find where i read that. But if you want to feel free to. On another note as last post on page 1 says. The last weekend is the 7th year aniversary of GW. There is no way they are gona hold GW2 beta even thant weekend. So im gona go and say 100% sure is on the 20th. On another note on the 7th year aniversay they just might announce the release date. Got my hopes up for that. xD

Someone had posted around the time of prepurchase that one of the gaming stores leaked the beta date for this weekend. By the time I saw the post, it was taken down. Who knows.. It may be this weekend or could be next as they said it was scheduled for the endo of the month, but with no definite date.
Also Tera's head start starts the last weekend of April. If I was arenanet, I would schedule this coming weekend to get as many players in to test, rather then having to compete with Tera that last weekend.
Edit: But then again, I think there is a public open beta for Tera this weekend....Its anyones guess
Ye.. Certain retailers leaked the beta date which was 20th April. They took it down within 2 days. And yes. GW 7th aniversary is on the 28th of April. The retailers also leaked that the game will be released mid - end July. (So if the 20th april turns out to be true, the release mid-end July might be true as well) thats why im thinking release date to be revealed on the 7th aniversary of the original GW, i mean what better way to reval such news.
For myself, Im in a dilemma.
Tera beta this weekend.

I prefer GW2 over Tera, but using tera as a place holder, for the most part. I'd probably play GW2 beta because I havent played it yet, but it would still suck to forgo Tera for the weekend...especially on an open beta(when char progress carries over to release) or a release weekend.
I certainly hope it will be the 28th. GW2 boxes still not delivered to Lithuania, so can't get my key and register the game. Although one of our retailers says that the beta will start 20th of April, I doubt it though.

I'd like for it to be this weekend, but doubt it.
There's still a lot to be sorted out, people that have pre-purchased in stores and haven't received their keys yet and the whole @ncsoft thing, which should need to be fixed before sending the client link, and they need to do that with enough time for people to download, so I think it'll probably be the weekend of the 27th.
What can men do against such reckless hate?
They said end of the month for the last 2 press beta aswell which where on the 2nd last weekend of the month, however since tera open beta is on that week end it would surprise me if they did it the weekend after so it didnt split players (Still GW will be much better imo than tera) and also the GW 1 anerversary is on the very last weekend so im gonna say it will be on the very last weekend to align with GW1 anniversary.

I'm actually getting a little worries right now. They should know by now the exact dates of the upcoming April beta. Why havn't they announced them? It's damn inconvenient for gamers to get the dates so close to the beta date. So what is taking Anet so long?
Worst case scenario is that the stress test the other day was a failure, and they have to fix a few issues with it, which could take longer than they expected. Meaning we won't get a Beta until May. I hope not, but like I said, I'm a bit worried they havn't announced it yet.
