It sounds stupid....until I recall some of the people I came across playing wow over the years. I mean at the very least they were sociopaths, if not out-and-out homocidal maniacs :P

    Truth is in these words.
Give a gun and lots of ammo to every person in a country and then watch the gun-violence related statistics shoot through the roof.

Give guns to everyone and suddenly everyone is equal. You say gun violence would skyrocket? I say it would even itself out. Communities would work together and protect eachother. And like the other guy said not having a gun does not decrease thier illegal use.

My point was that its not the weapon(or game) that causes a person to do stupid things to hurt people. It the people themselves. Point is still proven.

Take any large population of people and there are nut jobs. WoW + MW2 has over 20 million players. Find any group of 20 million people people and there will be completely insane people part of it.

    It's that simple.

Also, there was a recent article on IGN of real life US soldiers who played COD, the conclusion was its pretty much nothing like real life.

Take the guns away and watch the profits on the black market sky rocket without eliminating the problems that the guns cause anyhow.

I agree with that the profits on the black market would skyrocket if "making guns illegal" was the only thing done, which is why a lot of resources and large police involvement would be needed to significantely reduce the problems. Furthermore, it is enough that they significantely reduce the problems, they don't have to eliminate the problems to make it worthwhile.

While a complete illegalization would be unfeasible,  far more stricter regulations and requirements is a possible way to go.

If I were a murderer who liked to shoot people, I would try to avoid people who have guns. Also, I probably wouldn't buy the gun legally because that would make it easier to convict me.

@Epicent I edited my post because insane is the wrong word to use, replace it with crazy. Insane is a medical term. But you do have to be a little crazy to go around killing innocents.

In several countries, everyone was practically "equal" already, since the absolutely grand majority does not own a gun. Even if they are extremely upset with another person/company, using or threatening with a gun is not the convenient way to do something about it since they are so hard to get access to.  They are forced to use manipulation and words instead.

In the old days honor came from courage and respect... Today courage come from guns and respect from bullets.

Well, i have to admit, playing games for 16 hours a day is not healthy.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

It's not that a psycho is capable of picking up a video game is it?

Or is it that he was such a good boy. Always helping people, never swore. A real boyscout right?

    Until he discovered WOW!

    Dam video games!

I love this stuff. No, it's not like he was crazy to begin with right? Take away online games and they'll just find some other passtime to develop an unhealthy obssion with and give everyone a new wich to hunt.

Just a couple of points. You might want to read up on the case a little more. A car bomb is hardly what you'd call a precision strike that targets exactly who you want to hurt (not least of all when he detonated it outside a government building on a day that was a holiday, hence most workers weren't, well, working). Eight deaths, 209 injured. Ah, and today we find he planned on beheading the former Prime Minister.

Secondly, he's already been found to be legally insane by a professional. The case is now about finding him criminally insane or not (the former means a life spent in care, the latter means a life spent in prison).

If I was the parent of one of the murdered children I would fully support this man's swift release to a nice mental health facility.

Would just want to know the time and place of his transfer.

    Yeah, I'm a bad person, I know.
