List the classes you really enjoyed playing in any MMO ? For me:
1. Lineage 2:
Shillien Elder - was completely helpless at highlevel without a group, but in a group he was a GOD
Tyrant - low hp and defense, but massive melee damage and many nice tricks, such as extreme runspeed, near immunity to ranged attacks etc
Necromancer - awesome debuffer and dps mage with something like a Diablo 2 style Necromancer Bloodgolem
2. Vanguard: Saga of Heroes:
Dread Knight - original tank class with melee area attacks, invisibility, lifetaps, and other tricks
Bard - self designed songs and lots of instruments to find and use
Disciple - Monk healer, awesome solist and fantastic single target healer, pretty low on buffs though but still prenty fun
Blood Mage - mage/healer combo that based the healing mostly on redirected lifetaps. Very aggro friendly (since the lifetap healing doesnt generate any healing aggro) and a bag full of original buffs
Necromancer - damage over time pet class with fake death, fearkiting and many other stuff, including turning opponents into undead

the theif in ragnarok online. its one of the rare theif classes in MMOs. was nice when sometimes you would steal a very nice rare from a monster.
theif class is non exsistant anymore in MMOs. think the last one was from LOTRO, Burgler. mmos keep making classes they call theif but has nothing to do with stealing.
I enjoy playing Hybrid Melee/Magic users so i nessence I prefer classless skill based games way more but for those class based MMO's I did play I enjoyed the following:
CoH: Fire Tanker
DAoC: Skald, Thane, Champion
WoW: Shaman & Death Knight
SWTOR: Assasin Inquisitor
Rift: Chamion/Riftblade/Reaver spec
Those are some of my favorites with the WoW Death Knight my all time favorite class in any class based MMO I played. My all time favorite MMO class is my Axe/Life/Lore/Melee Def speced Character in Asherons Call.
Everything you need to know about Elder Scrolls Online

Gw - warrior, mesmer

D3's new monk class is catching my eyeballs!
Rift- Justicar, Druid, Chloromancer, Assassin, Warden, Riftblade, Void Knight, Riftstalker
WoW-Druid, Paladin, Shaman, Warrior, Death Knight,Warlock
EQ-Paladin, Mesmerizer
GW1(not a MMO but)- Ritulist,
Philosophy of MMO Game Design
I always enjoy playing a hybrid class such as a Ranger or paladin (depending on game). I prefer to be a jack of all trades, master of none. Unfortunately this usually doesn't translate so well in end game.
I would love to play a rogue in an mmo but they never mirror rogues in single player games. I want to sneak and STEAL things!
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Hunter in wow is easily my favourite class among 100+ MMORPGs Ive played. Very dynamic, high skill cap, amazing in solo, good at pvp, lots of fun abilities, crazy amount of pets. Every addon made the class better and better, looks like MoP is where hunters will truely shine in pvp.
distant second would be burglar in LOTRO
I'm very mixed about this. In WoW I prefered Paladin (HATED Hunter), in LOTRO I prefered Hunter, In Asheron's Call (my first) I prefered a major hybrid melee/mage, in GW1 + GW2 it's all about the Ranger.. etc.
It's all about the mechanics really...
Daoc
Friar, Theurgist, Healer, Mentalist, nightshade

Lotro
Minstrel

Dark Age of Camelot
I have an affinity for melee/magic hybrids. I love hybridization, hate specialization. I dont particularly care about being the best at any single task. I'll trade that for versatility any day of the week.
WoW: Even though I'm not particularly fond of the game as a whole, the time I spent playing it I enjoyed Enhancement Shaman the most with Ret Pally and Feral Druid tied for 2nd place.
FFXI: Puppetmaster was easily my favorite class. It was the most complex class I've ever seen in any MMORPG ever, and I loved that about it. I've never been incredibly fond of pet classes in the past, but having the ability to outfit my automaton for just about any situation had its benefits, and I was no slouch either with my hand-to-hand combat. Performing skillchains together, trading aggro back and forth, and keeping each other alive was all a lot of fun, and I admit I grew pretty attached to my little robotic "daughter" too.
CoH/V: I loved my Dark Melee Scrapper. It wasn't the most powerful scrapper set out there, but it threw in a bit of crowd control, nice AoEs, and absorption skills that made it pretty reliable both against single and multiple targets.
EQ: I'll never forget my Iksar Shadowknight in EQ. I mentioned before I've never been fond of pet classes, but I'd hardly call the weak skele SK's got a qualifier as a "pet class". It was fun to sick Kobober or Jonaner or whatever random name the system gave the summon on a monster trying to eat my face then run like hell. Also, Harm Touch FTW.
I've played far more MMOs than I'm proud to admit, but these have been some of the more memorable characters I've had.
Lineage2:
Warlord, AOE Pole (Halbert & Longspear) user in Heavy Armor specialized in slicing at least 30 npcs at once. I can't think of any game outside sprite based games, where you mob up 70 enemies and wear em down, just to take on more afterwards! The mini game between losing HP but stunning monsters or just wacking at them to keep your mana up was just plain fun and damn demanding. We called it HP surving.
And this class was just made for that. Sucked at solo and pvp expect defending tight key positions but hell the best PVE I've ever experienced and totally group orientated.
Till they nerfed my Warlord (Dreadnought) twice into a mini "aoe" and utterly deleted that class with G.O.D.
Nothing in any other game was distinctive enough to be worth mentioning (to me).
Well, kinda reminds me of some l2 qq, "oooooh, we are so broken we can only kill 8 mobs at once" on par with wows "paladins are completely nerfed, we cannot even solo tbc raids @ level 80".
Just spreading negativity, carry on
Most have already been written by other people...i'd like to add.
Shadowpriest in WoW.
Squigg Herder in WAR.
I like paladins and death knights (for tanking) in WoW, also warriors in almost every game. I only heal mainly because it levels me faster...
I like melee classes with some mid range abilities, which is why I intend to enjoy the Guardian in GW2.
You forgot cheap. "Good" at PvP. hahaha. It's called face rolling.
