Sure, just remember that TERA is a mmo like any other.... with kill X monster quests and so

The only thing "new" it have is the action combat. Its a really cool combat that u can have lots of fun playing but anything other than that its just a common mmorpg.

Why not play both?  Tera's combat, political system, and gvg is awesome.  I've been in the beta for both for awhile now and I'll will be playing GW2 for the instanced pvp mainly, but the pve aspects (it's just streamlined grinding) are just not there and the WvW will be a cluster f*ck of range and aoe spamming.  Combat is probably just preference but I prefer tera.   Iwas seriously on the fence with both and after the open beta weekend for Tera and getting to really engage the GvG I gotta say I'm hooked.  The political system is going to be a whole other monster, and will add so much more depth to pvp then just a rank and a ladder position.

GW2 is really an amazing game, dont miss it ! btw if anyone try to sell u the idea that GW2 is P2W just forget it they have no idea of how game works or they are just trolling

With words like "seems" and "hear" that doesn't sound very reliable.

OP, don't take our word for it. I love TERA and have no plans to purchase GW2 at this moment. Others would disagree and day TERA is a f2p Asian grinder. My advice would be to look at the tons of TERA videos and see how the combat flows. Also see the different settings in the background. I think it's a fantastic game, one I've been waiting to play for a while, you might not think so and I wont presume that you do.

Just not worth my time anymore.

Have you played GW2?  The dynamic events are the same type of questing just grouped in a nice, neat package (area).  World pvp and gvg makes leveling in tera incredibly entertaining.  It's funny how guild wars are a more important aspect in Tera then GW2.  Of course this all prefrence.  I really thought the same thing about tera until playing the open beta with my guild.

Any game that has so many ppl trying so hard to prove it sucks can't be that bad ;)

I am thoroughly LOVING Tera right now.  Beautiful graphics, extremely enjoyable gameplay - it's basically just about exactly what I've been wanting in a fantasy based MMO for a long time.

Does that mean its perfect?  For me or anybody else?  Of course not!  Yes, there are a few minor gripes I have, but they're just that - minor gripes.  The positives of this game by far outweigh any of the negatives.

GW2 is also looking like it will be a terrific game, but who knows when it is going to be release!  If your budget allows it, I would absolutely suggest you give TERA a try in the meantime!

Anybody that thinks TERA only has combat going for it has completely missed the boat on this game, and probably has no prior experience with it.   The game has much more going for it than just combat.

    Just sayin'...

i really would give tera a shot, but unfortunately the store page still in error, and won't let me buy the damn digital thing.

OP, having played Guild Wars 2 Beta and going back to traditional questing will be a hard thing to do, specially if you loved the dynamic events. I did the same thing you're planning to do and I'm starting to regret it now. I pop on Tera and do a few quests and I keep missing the DE and the waypoint system. After a while I just leave it and go play guitar hero with my little brother, and have a much better time. I do like soloing BAM's and that's probably all I'll be doing to level along with the instances. I say wait for Diablo 3 and read up reviews on both games, see which one fares better.

Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

I think they suggested using 3rd party sites like amazon and such until they fixed the issue.

I'm having a damn good time. I suggest trying a melee class first. Personally, I adore the lancer. :)

You probably hit the maintenance rush prior to official launch (3rd May).Today the servers open for nomal gameplay, so I assume that the account pages and forums will work normally as well.

Mage, you're wrong about the dynamic events. TERA's big selling point IS the combat. Period. However, many people are also enjoying the open pvp / guild pvp as well. This is not to say that one's better than the other, but please use actual facts. Making things up about one game to convince someone to buy another, believe it or not, doesn't help.

If the guy like TERA's combat, and doesn't mind traditional questing (It's primarilly kill X quests, or grind. Don't lie about it, he'll figure this out not 5 seconds after making a character) he'll enjoy the game. The PvP is fun, but it is gear based. Also, as some have mentioned the combat does get more interesting after lvl 20. The new tutorial is there to help show this, but for the first 10 lvls, you won't really have many attacks to use. Those lvls won't take very long, though.

I feel the same way. I actually do like TERA's combat a lot, but I wish the rest of the game was more interesting. It doesn't help that I find the game to be a bit too easy as well (mobs telegraph their moves quite a bit, and the availability of HP pots doesn't really help). Personally I've done too many quest grind games, and I just can't stand it anymore. I like TERA's combat, and pvp, but I have a real hard time w/ the rest of the game. BAMs are fun for a while, but they can take 10-15mins to solo. You can group them, but again, the difficulty goes down quite a bit. I found myself just wanting to play Dark Souls after doing BAMs, to be honest.

digital dl version is the only viable version for me, buying and importing physical copy would take a long time to reach me and not to mention the duty and tax that will incur (which amounts are usually very unfair).

This exactly. An RPG has a very well crafted story. Tera (from 40 levels of experience so far) seems to have this on lock!
Dungeons are beautifully crafted and non feel like the same re hash.
BAMs scatter each landscape and give a different outside world boss fight that most MMOs seem to have forgotten.
Countless GvG fights have started over BAMs in my guild and that is where tons of the Tera fun is.

I know a lot of people don't like this game, many of their reasons are very valid.
Trolls will be trolls as always so ignore that.
Find a thread with well thought out negatives on Tera and see what you WONT like before playing as well.
Nothing is worse than buying a game and getting 1/2 way through it than to realize that there is something you hate in it.

I love Tera and it is a breath of fresh air for me!

Only Tera EU is still on maintenance, at least the game servers are. They'll open in about 6 hours from now. US servers are working properly. I did try to use the account page to purchase from EN Masse and indeed I get an error when I select the add in cart option. No idea about that.

This is hilarious.  You tell me to not make up things and to use facts, but your only argument is that I'm wrong.  Where are your facts??  I've played the GW2 beta and I've experienced the dynamic events and they consist of  the same "kill X" or "gather Y."   Please tell me how I'm wrong about this because maybe I missed something.
