This is crazy , lol...Group finder? My server is dead, 100% dead..I don't need a group finder, or more warzones, or more flashpoints, I need more players and until they fix that nothing else matters, nothing.
Yep, they need to bite the bullet and do the server merge.
I agree. Bioware needs to do this ASAP - - waiting until early summer (June 20th or later) is just too long.
I also agree wtih you guys!.... I think Bioware is afraid from a PR stand point.
The forums on here and everywhere else will blow up with threads titled - "LOL SERVER MERGES = THE BEGINNING OF THE END"
Unfortunetly they NEED to be done ASAP...

I don't understand why ea/bioware has not done the server merges yet. There are threads going 3 months back stating some servers were ghost towns. Folks are asking for free transfers and server merges. I almost rolled a new toon on a new server but decided what would the point be.
Yes I think its getting late in the game for server merges, the longer they wait the worse the situation is going to be. Most of the folks that was in our guild are now playing tera, a few have pre ordered gw2 and are in the beta you get from the pre order. That left 3 of us out of 40 still playing. Well kind of playing.
All I can say is ea/bioware needs to quit spinning the lies about the sub numbers and face the truth, that being they are loosing subs left and right.
I love the star wars universe and swtor lvls 1-49. Grind based endgame just is not apealing anymore. Their updates need to go in the way of new story based content for individual classes. That was their big push with the game right?
And that's one of the main problems that a lot of people pointed at when SWTOR was still in development. If you bet all your resources (I say "all" because the rest of the gameplay is literally a photocopy from other... errr... "sources") on story driven content, then you've to put this content in motion on a regular and short basis.
Do you remember all the interviews where BW said that the after-release content was already in development and programmed for 10 years at least ? Balls. And SWTOR is lingering on emergency life support because EA invested all the money on the shiny bauble release and the brainless game design and nothing was indeed done or thought at for the end game.
Well, my bad that I spent some money on this garbage but EA won't get anymore from me.
Server merges by fall guaranteed. The sad thing is that will also cause layoffs at EA.
If you want to keep people in a MMO, you need to slow down leveling and provide a myriad of things to do at end game, When you design a game for the "I want it now" crowd, do not expect them to stick around long.

Yes I remember that and I was willing to give them 6 months to prove they had additional content. We gotten some content, and if you look at what was done it was all afterthought. The actually added an area on corellia that you can only get from a taxi drop ship. I want to know what happened to the 10 years of content, and the hundreds of planets they supposedly had set up. When I first saw the galaxy map I knew then we had been lied too.
Got to love corporate greed, that is all it comes down too, how they can generate numbers to keep the investors happy until the next big project.
Group finders in an MMORPG...sigh. I guess in an instanced world, this would be required. Give me a free open world where I can find my groups by adventuring.
You can still do this! No one is forcing you to use GF.
Which of Update 1.3’s feature are you looking forward to most and why? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below!
None! I cancelled my sub before the 30 free days run out, since there was nothing interesting in the game besides plenty of pointless videos, voice overs and boring quests. Oh, and I didn't even reach level 50, where all the repeated pointless flashpoint and operation fun begins!
I regret spending my money on this game and I double regret for paying for the collector's edition.

I agree and I'm so tired of the endgame all these games have.
It is clear they dont know how to fix pvp in a meaningful way and operations/flashpoints have bugs they dont seem very interested in fixing.
They need to concentrate on the selling point of the game which is the story. This is the only thing new they bring to the table, well along with the voice acting. I loved the story and the voice acting just not enough to run more than one character through each side.
This would have been a better single player game me thinks.

Have I got the ultimate game for you! It's called your front door. Go forth find friends, group with them against the horrid basketball hoop, build an epic raid group before encountering the local baseball diamond.
You can aslo find some more solo friendly dungeons like the bathroom, and the amazing backyard, where Elite classes like "The Gardener", "The Hobbyist" and "The double rainbow Watchman" reach their fullest potintial.
Fer reals though, SWTOR has a find groups by adventure type style, but nobody actually groups, so kind of pathetic. The game is completely solo friendly.
I looked out my front door. The gameplay is unoriginal. Same thing,,over and over. I'm also not very fond of the artstyle and the animations are horrible.
I thought Bioware said they had content planned and the potential for 100 worlds. Having plans for content and having content programmed ..tested and finished are not the same thing. I have plans to go to Ireland one day....doesn't mean I've purchased the tickets yet.
I still don't think they promised most of the shit people complain about...I think we hear what we want to hear.
Update still sucks though....they should address more pressing issues.
So...what will be the point of crafters now. Why allow any and everyone to just use an augment table to get augment slot. They could have simply allowed crafters to create an augment kit, that could be traded/sold, that a player could then in turn take to a augment table and use...but no.
Adding an augment to an item through the augment table will require an augment kit and credits. The kits can be traded and are created by crafters. RE'ing crafted items gives you the materials required to create augment kits.
Server mergers don't bother me. At this point, it's common knowledge that all MMORPGs get hammered at launch by a massive amount of players, a lot of whom have no real desire to play said game in the long term. I think what developers should do going forward is to initially start with a small-ish number of servers then create temporary severs as needed that players can transfer off of at any time to ease the load on the main servers. When the population of said-servers reaches a critical point, close said servers.
Server transfers/ mergers soon and a Dungeon queue? Im tempted to resub there is a LOT of end game content ive never ran on my 50s because I rolled on an COMPLETELY empty server

I am one of those lingering subscribers, I am subbed, but find myself logging in very little (not at all in the last two weeks) and sadly, I dont find myself missing it. Now that summer is coming, and my calendar looks pretty much packed, it would really take a miracle to keep me in this game.
Time to get off my lazy ass and unsub.
Agree. Still subed and the same pattern. Not missing it.

Not sure that is the solution, but EA needs to do something. Rift merged a few months back and it was not the end of the world. Maybe it is all about what happens after the merge.

To be fair, that fear isn't entirely unfounded. Very rarely does a game do server mergers, and have long term stability.
Lack of players is a symptom, not a disease. People buy the game, and find the mechanics of it not to their liking, for whatever reason, from the intelligent to the flat out stupid. Then they leave the game. Some people who like said mechanics then realize how empty their servers are, and call for merges, because population will fix everything. The merge occurs. For a few weeks, everything is hopping with the fresh injection of new players. Unfortunately, most of the mechanics haven't been fixed. People realize the problems with the mechanics, and then leave again. The cycle then repeats itself.
If things are doing bad, I'd much rather Bioware just hand out free unlimited transfer tokens for a month, allowing the people to regulate where they will go for the time being. Meanwhile, work on actually making the game work. If you fix the mechanics of it to create a compelling game, you won't worry about server mergers in the future.
They really need to figure out why people have left their game, and then change it. Instead, they've been caught flat-footed with things that should've been resolved in beta (customizable UI interface, group finder which is a must in a game that is nearly an entirely instanced themepark), and content that should've been included at launch (The Legacy system). 1.2 showed that the patience of the TOR community is really thin right now. 1.3 looks to be more of the same. I wouldn't bet on people all of a sudden becoming understanding.

What I was looking forward to the most in 1.3 was multi-specs. It seems that the item that was listed for 1.3 with the 1.2 patch that everyone thought was multi-spec is not.
I think that everything that they are adding will help the game. But unless it comes out and really gets me excited, I will be leaving with the end of my pre-paid time and I will check back next year to see if it has become a game that I will spend money on.

Server merges will be seen as accepting that they are loosing players and are on a death spiral of loosing subscriptions. I would look for a F2P conversion before any significant amount of FCT.

dont know if anybody has posted this yet but the kits that will be needed to add augment slots to gear are crafted items:
DavidHunt Crew Skills -> Augment slot on all gear 1.3

How many people will bother waiting for 1.3? that's my question. Most EU server are Corrently light on pick hours.
