There are still tons of bugs and things to improve upon before release.
I agree its not 100% polished. But really interested to hear from you guys, what you found most missing in the last stress test. My porsonal experience (PvE) on multiple chars and areas, was totally flawless.
Same for us, we were able to sPvP, WvW and PvE on ultra with no issues at all. No graphics lag, no server lag, just one odd mail issue. During the BWE there were absolutely bad connectivity and lag issues, as well as the whole overflow server problem. It was messy for sure, but that was all cleared up by the stress test. I certainly didn't see any bugs that would justify labelling the amount as 'tons of bugs', one mail issue and everything else just worked.
I don't doubt others had some issues at all of course, it's just hard for me to imagine there being a ton of bugs based on what I saw, and that's with going through each starter area, PvE, SPvP and WvW - the only area I didn't see was Ascalon Catacombs.
I'd pay a monthly sub to play the game as it is right now, it made a very good impression on me.
I agree that it is in pretty good shape and most of the changes could be made on the go but whats another month or two at this point. And opening up a long running beta would be a bad move because then people would burn the content and that release feeling would be gone. Sit and wait is the game for me, I wont even play in another beta event just because its a pointless tease.
GW2 is going to have launch problems of SOME kind. And people will sigh out loud and deal with it.
Depending on how much they work on it now, directly affects how bad those issues are going to be. Period. So wait. Or if not you'll just be waiting for them to fix whats broken after launch. Anything broken after launch is an egg on the face for them as well.
First impressions. They get one. Let it be a good one.

true every MMO does.. I look at Rift which had a stellar launch for the most part. I beleive this did really well for them in the long run and has shown Trion as a solid company which will help them greatly if they decide to put out more games in the future as well.
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
Even though the wait is killing me im liking the fact that they havent accounced a released date yet. I want them to be sure that its perfect. I bet you their looking at all the negative feedback their getting and taking it all into consideration. That gamebreakers interview in regards to the negative aspects of Guild wars 2 shed some light on a few things that Anet can address and optimize. Their not going to just release it because hey this new idea is awesome lets just shove it out there.
Their going to perfect it, polish it, and do whatever it takes. I'm glad there will be more then 1 beta. I'm glad were waiting even though it sucks. I just hope they take all the feedback were giving them and utilize it. I played beta and to be honest there is ALOT of work to be done.
Bugs of all sorts, some of the dynamic events could use a bit of a tweaking. I wasnt too thrilled once i reached level 16 and gone onto a new area only to face MORE Centaurs as a human...bleh. Classes definitely need to be worked on. The list goes on.

I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake.

I would play the game right now, but I also tolerate bugs to a large degree.
However I do not really know what features they have lined up to still add. If its all cosmetic and smoothing then sure release soon.
But if they need to add a number of features and are not confident in their class balancing yet then they may need a couple more months.
