i dont no about this daoc i play lineage 2 and i cant seem to pry myself away....... im thinking about daoc but lineage 2 just seeeems way better u guys should check it out
Yeah I tried Lineage 2 and I was not impressed at all.. I have been playing DAoC from release. When WoW came out I went to that and guess where I am now. Yup you guessed it I am back playing DAoC. This is the best MMO on the market. There has not been one game that has even come close to beating it.
Now if you are interested in playing DAoC I believe the best class to play is on ALB.... Inconnu Cabalist spirit spec... They are INSANE!!! you are your own PowerLeveler... and you can MOP up in RvR combat. One of the more fun chars/class's to play.

I completely agree with the OP. DAoC has turned around and become an amazing game again... I played it back when it first released, then left when Mythic started loosing their mind and a clear direction for awhile with the SI and Atlantis expansions. A lot of players dropped like flies then, but they've done a lot of work since and after trying out the trial and seeing what changed, I can definitely argue it is a strong competitor for anything out on the market right now. Very fun, a ridiculous amount of quest content, involving story behind the quests, and very impressive graphics. If you want a cross between EQ2 realistic graphics and WoW artistry, this is the closest thing.
The only thing I really have a problem with after the ingenuity of WoW/EQ2 controls, is the controls are a little difficult to get used to. It might just be me because I am used to holding down the right mouse button and holding the left to run and change direction. I also like the camera to auto-follow me in the sense that if I change the camera angle, I would like it to move back behind me when I move again, which it doesn't do here. Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like I'm limited to the WSAD movement and manual camera control. But as you can probably tell, these really are minor pet-peeves of mine and really not a big deal by far.
So if you haven't given it a try yet, go grab the trial from here of the main DAoC website. I would highly recommend trying it out to everyone.
EDIT: Just clarifying what I meant by camera auto-follow because I foresaw the ravenous trolls beating me to death on that issue the way I said it before. lol

When a game is horribly boring between 1-50, and only two elements to the game are fun (seiges or raid bosses), then it is pretty far from awesome. A game needs to be developed just a little better then that to interest me. And is there any chance you can learn to write normally? Just curious...
Wow, It's been almost a year sice I've playd this. In my eyes, it's still one of the best MMOs available.
I'm currently playeing Eve (Which is a refreshing change from the norm) I think once my paid month is up I may switch back to DAoC, Hib/Nim All the way!
Also I think I read that the RP servers are clustered now, is that the case?

loved this game for 5 years took a break to play eve might go back. I still think its the best pvp going.

Yes all 3 RP servers are clustered. So more people, and 3 places to do artifacts raids now.
