Well, I think Tera's levelling has finally got he better of me. Main character (mystic) is now in the low 50's and yet another reiteration of Jesters have appeared.
I levelled in Aion straight from original launch which was significantly slower than Tera, so it's not the pace of levelling - it's the sheer monotonous boredom of the whole levelling thing.
I've mentioned the cut and paste characters before - but actually, it's not the appearance that's the main issue. It's the fact that they all do exactly the same attacks - in the same order - over and over again - level after level.
Consequently the way you deal with these mobs reflects this. The skill progession is also geared to the cut and paste mob attacks. Repeat visits to the trainer just give the next hike in the main single and aoe skills - They could have saved you the time and trouble here and just have them autoscale.
Looking back, I have been using exactly the same mechanic on mobs for the last 40+ levels - send thrall in to group mobs - run in - aeo - run in - aoe - run in - aoe.............................
This looks like the first mmo where I have'nt taken at least one character to the cap lvl. Mind you, from what I'm hearing about end game, that may not be a bad thing at the moment.

Stop doing things that you don't want to do.
lol.
It's all about grouping and fighting the BAMs. Do some dungeons and BAM quests. If not then well, you chose a support healer, don't know what to tell ya.
Wise words - advice already taken with sub cancellation - roll on GW2 or Secret World ?
can i have your acc
Don't hold your breath ^
I agree and it is mostly the lack of change between levels that has demotivated me in my quest to hit lvl60. If they had more interesting glyphs that would be something. Heck and I play a slayer I don't think I could quest level as a mystic...perhaps instanced constantly with friends or something. However you are already early 50's you really plan to give up after all that work? Lets not kid ourselves quest leveling on a mystic is work =P.
Don't get me wrong im a fan of Tera but the reward for leveling needs to be more entertaining not just getting character getting stronger.
I don't think he ment another mmo.
I was a level 51 Priest, i logged on. Got bored. Logged off, cancelled my sub. I couldn't even bare the thought of having to do the remaining quests. Granted i was in a low pop server and their wasn't much of an atmosphere, but i just felt their could of been a bit more excitement!
You should have played a warrior... there are reasons why warriors difficulty rate is 5 stars

I strongly dissagree, I find warrior rather easy to play.
Actually there is truth to this.
OP, find a way of playing that you actually enjoy. If you can't then move on.
If you are levelling for the purpose of "max level end game" then i might suggest you are doing it wrong.
Also, are you on a pvp server? That might add a bit of flavor to the game because you are actually levelling with purpose in that case.

Yeah, I want to hear this one too Sov.
When I think of purpose in MMO PVP I'm normally thinking fo things such as territory control (a la EVE), Castle/Keep ownership (a la Lineage 2/DAOC) or specific bonus abilities from successful PVP (again DAOC and some other games).
I haven't seen any plans for TERA to include any of the above, much to my disappointment.
I will say, I ground my Mystic up to 50 last evening, and I did feel a bit of burn out settle in, decided to take a break since I've probably been grinding a bit too hard in the dungeons recently, time to get out and group up for BAMS and dungeons more I think.

My warrior hit 45 last night(got from 44 to 45 in one day, maybe about 2-2.5 hours of play time). The game is not grindy for me as I mix in bams, questing, and dungeons. As for the cut and paste models, I've seen it, I'll agree. But currently in westonia, these are new mobs. As for the same rotation, sure. But...that...is in..every other mmo? wut? It hardly changes in other MMOs once you get your core abilities. At least in this game you arent tab targeting.
As for cancelling your sub and heading to GW2 or TSW. #1, I hear TSW is trash and a slow paced game. #2, GW2 questing is better for the most part, at least at first. If you dont level quick enough, you'll end up doing the SAME EXACT dynamic events, over and over instead of doing a quest once. If you do a DE once in GW2, log off, come back later, chances are you'll be doing that SAME EXACT event again. Im not bashing GW2, but I dont think its as dynamic as people think it is. Maybe I am playing the game wrong, which Ive never played an MMO or a game wrong, I thought there was no correctway. But I keep doing the same dynamic events, twice or even three times before I can move into a higher lvl area.
move to a different zone, there is more than one starter area.
something i wish one could do in Tera
I am thinking that, but is it a 20 minute hike to the next starter area? And would my XP gain/money gain be the same if I am doing DEs for level 5 when I am 10? I know the game bumps you down, but how does that effect xp gain
not slower then tera, tsw even though the replay value is almost null( since his strong point is history, and using urban legend as truth) you can do more then just stand there and take the beat, and tera yes its grindish

That's my purpose in leveling. That is the only thing still driving me to level. To hit 60 and pvp against opponents that arent higher level than me.
I don't need battlegrounds or rewards or territory control as long as the combat is good ill be more than satisfied. Anything extra is just a perk. Now what I find completely unacceptable is battlegrounds that give rewards and people sit there afking and slacking off like in WoW.
There's portals that take you to the main cities for each race which only takes like 1 min, then head out and start doing heart quests or find some DEs, you'll gain loot according to your level and you'll be scaled down so it is challenging enough, win/win.
Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.
1) bantering with each other takes away any monotony and gives meaning to the time online.
2) can spontaneously take any BAMS in your way withou resorting to look for groups or spend 15 shaving it's health.
3) I think there's an XP bonus when grouping. I've been noting significantly faster progression when duping than soloing - but that might be explained by increased efficiency?
Anyway, if it's not for you it's not for you. Happy trails. But you will run into the exact same complaint in any other MMO if you remain solo. It's like playing D&D PNP by yourself O.o
You are playing it wrong :P
Move to another area you haven't done before, even if its below your level, instead of repeating the same event. Due to autoscaling GW2 plays diferently than other MMO's so for example doing all 3 starter regions is the correct thing to do.
Also, keep in mind while on release there might be relatively few variations on DE, ANet has said they will be adding new events often all over the place, and in a year or two the number might double or tripple, and chances of finding the same event twice will lessen significantly. It is the perfect expansion system for a living world.

Meh not really the exact same thing, that one was about mobs repeating, this one is him quitting because of the grind. But yeah they're pretty close though. I noticed you like going through peoples post history though
