Now, talking about how you think a combat FPS would be more fun for you is cool. But lose the "more real" bit. You have no idea what it feels like to have bullets whizzing by your head, or having the explosion of a mortar round lifting you into the air like a sack of beans. Indeed seeing such talk is as offensive if not more so (to many of us who have been in combat as it can be percieved as trivializing the DEATHS of our buddies) than being picked on due to a disability.

People keep mentioning the Reticle thing and firing from the hip. This has been "real" for a while. Need to check out the

    Land Warrior Program

You can fire from the hip (with a reticle in one eye) as well as around corners without putting your body in the line of fire. Multiple countries have something like this and have had for years now.

Again, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Bet your money that someone will cry louder the moment they have female avatars that die in horrible ways during multiplayert, calling it a travesty to portray women in that way. This is the kind of stuff the evening news feeds would KILL for.

I agree. Girls cop attitudes for several reasons when they are trying to make a point or talking points to male audience. It isn't that we don't care for their input, it's that they try way to hard to put their girl mindsets into a male dominated thing. Girls should just let us guys be, let us have our games and our man stuff, they don't need to fragment everything we have as men and try and be like us. Do your girl stuff, if you are a good gamer then keep the tone down about how good you are or whatever.

Slowly I feel, and this can be seen on YouTube, and I don't care if I sound sexist but girls are making the only thing men can do well into a showcase of glitterizing everything down, if you know what I mean.

Speaking of which, why is it that in GW2 all the human women have black underwear, and why can't they be thongs?

The same reason they added more clothing to the models in Tera... because men are the devil.

LOL because girls would get all PO that the female is portrayed to slutty. Something girls do not grasp with RPG games is the term FANTASY, to many girls look at it as a REALITY based thing, ever listen to girls on vent in games, I swear they think they are in twitter or facebook the way they talk about what is going on in game, not all but most seem to be that way.

It shouldn't be a surpise, then, that double standards are ok when it works to one's advantage.

You seem to be forgetting one very important thing:

They are still just games, they are not real life... so yes, they will not be like real life.

That being said, I do agree that we need games with more hard work and more stuff to work towards rather than everything being a cheese fest.

My god... after reading through all of this the only question I have is:

WTF is the point of this post?

OP has claimed they're not looking for a game, not expecting devs to view the post, etc... so really, is this whole post just so you can take a brain shit in the middle of the floor so the world has to step in it? Also, it was claimed they were expecting flames, but then went on a moderation rampage over the people that wanted to laugh at the most horrid attempt at kindergarten spelling ever presented. Anyhow, that's my piece. XD

Well, I'm impressed you would use one of your 'once-yearly' posts to chime in here.

    Kudos.

I see a lot of us older mmorpg.com users doing that, I know a few. I been here actually the first month this site went online, my other account is retired since 2004 (banned actually) when I made this one, my old one I had closed when I got rid of AOL and lost my ability to look at emails for that account and forgot a password change I did and was not able to log in so I just had it closed and made new one. But yeah, if you been here forever you kinda get bored being active. Also you can only have one account on this site, which is kinda lame.

Edit: Oh crap I see what you mean by that guy, only 7 posts since 2004 I did not look at his post count! Lol yeah that makes more sense now. Figured you knew him and he didn't post as much as before.

Well, I think she made some good points at first.... on a couple aspects of it.... but she really didn't get the difference between chasing realism, and aiming at 'fluid' gameplay (nor did she want to).

I think the bane of implementing a lot of these more realistic aspects  is bandwidth limitations.  Until we see a hugh upgrade of infrastructure for civilian use, all genre of games will reach a point of stagnatation.  Currently, the bandwidth for a majority of people to actually play a realistic game with this many varibles would be impossible.

I really did laugh out loud at the brain shit line. Well done.

As to the OP, the reply a couple pages back that included "wear" and "were" is pretty much the epitomy of this post, especially when they were both being used in place of "where".

In one sentence you used the wrong word twice, for the same intended word. Now I suppose that the "were" instance could have been a typo where the 'h' was missed, but that would indicate that you know how to use the correct spelling and grammar, but choose not to.

Since you're not going to read this anyway, probably not a whole lot of point in continuing on some of my other points.

To the people who commented on the quoted user's lack of posts, you'll notice i've been around for quite some time, with a fairly low post count, and I can assure you this is not an alt account this is my original.

I just tend to read, more than I write... that old line about having two ears and only one mouth....
