Play normal or nightmare. Problem solved. Gear repairs are cheaper. Monsters can be killed by the fistfull with no effort and minimal gearing. Gold is rediculously easy to come by. Low level legendaries do drop in Nightmare. The problem is people think they should be able to faceroll the hardest level in the game. I hope they never can.
Play naked if they nerf the game. Problem solved. It goes both ways.
It is not a mmo, and i like mmos, i like the difficulty, grind and the annoying things in them, d3 was not supposed to be like that, its a shame...
Flame on!
You bought an Action-Rpg and expected no grind at its endgame? You should have read up on the genre before buying D3.
I bought a diablo game, nothing more, nothing less
Flame on!
And somehow you expected a Diablo game to be fundamentally different from every other Diablo game? Why?
I didnt and i never said i would. Im sorry, you are too well read around here to not know as to why it is futile to indulge zero with his "endgame grind" straw man.

Not me. I expected it to be the same, which is why it was such a let down.
So your expected to grind mobs for gear and when it turned out that you did it was a let down. Because that's what Diablo is about.
Getting one thing right does not mean they didn't get a million things wrong. If I named everything they got wrong, it would take longer to compile the list than it does to play though the game.

Jay Wilson's a silly guy who created a stripped version of WoW and called it Diablo 3.
4 man group instances (ditto to WoW's -1 person)? Check
Auction house? Check
Scrutinized balancing? Check
I remember Diablo 2 for everything it did to keep me playing such as, leveling to 99 was a challenge, rushing/doing runs with 7 other people, ladder, endless builds, making a pure str amazon just because i felt like it, and pvp/pk. Where are these things in D3, in the next 2 expansions maybe?
D3's combat was great albeit a smidge slow, and the skill system is alright.
The game just has so little substance...
Level 60? Done...
Inferno? Easier than ever...
Gear? Why bother, can just buy it off the AH.
Way to go Diablo 3 dev team, let people easily search for gear through an auction house... oh you sure showed those sites that were selling Diablo 2 gear... yep... and everyone else who enjoyed bartering. =_=
Diablo 2 was original for its time, Diablo 3 is not, in fact it feels quite ancient.
Blizzard didn't update the concept, they just copypasted Diablo 2.
I understand the need to keep the original feel of D2 with a 2D environment instead of going full 3D, but at least they could have come up with a 2.5D compromise.
It is frustrating that in 2012 I can't move the camera view, in fact one of my main activity is to constantly "try" to change the camera view to have a better visual of the battlefield AND to facilitate the movement of my character by making sure I can point the cursor on the ground to move out of the way instead of clicking on the mobs instead and dyeing by a nasty AOE in the process.

I am sorry you don't have standards for video games. Diablo II set the standard and it was completely disregarded. Because they disregarded the standard that was Diablo II, they have made a game that made only a few improvements but did everything else wrong.
Have to agree with those that state their short term memories must be for crap, since my wife and I played D2 about 2 weeks before the release of D3....yeah, D3 ain't D2 by a long shot. It's fun, just not going to be the 10 year love affair that D2 was.

Well, 10 years is a long term. I expect D3 will last me a few month. In any measure, that is a super good value for a ARPG .. not to mention it is FUN.

Have you cleared A3/4 Inferno?
Come back and tell me how fun the game is after you've had that experience. My barb has about 75 million into his gear and can farm A3 and 4 without issue, however, it isn't very entertaining and is nowhere near efficient. I run with a 2hander, fully offensive build. No tank gear or passives.
They have stealth nerfed item drop quality repeatedly in a game where the entire premise is farming for better items. Then raised the drop rates across all acts of inferno, to give players a false sense that they are being rewarded more than previously, even though they are not.
Blizzard used to set the bar for quality, but these days they cannot even live up the standards they set previously for the rest of the industry. Oh how far they have fallen.

D2 was just fun. D3 is OK until you get to Inferno and then it's just not very fun. It wouldn't be so bad if the itemization wasn't so crappy.

I'm back to playing D2, and find it much better than I remembered. I guess my memory was a little off. :P

Maybe he has illusions couse he was not in development of D2.
Diablowiki.net: Prior to joining Blizzard entertainment in 2007...
Maybe this is why D3 has so much success... on papers. Couse D1 / D2 development grp left / fired.
PS: I heard that Blizzard making a new tetris. Will be the new world success with 7 million ppl that will buy it. Have fun
