Quite a few on the MMO list are over-rated. GW is severely so.

GW is fun if you actually get away from your computer for 15 minutes and make some friends who also have GW and arrange a game session with them...

You were so bored... cause you didn't explore the game very much. If you open your friggin eyes you'll see that there are more quests in that game than your head has hairs. You can always hire NPC's if you don't have any friends... or you can attempt to make friends in the game and party up with them to go do missions and kill some stuff. Also... if you like PvP... you can make a PvP character starting at lvl 20 and go PvP in a very level environment... or you can take your existing RP character at whatever level you have achieved, go into any Arena, and PvP in yet another very level playing field.

From the volume of your post on this subject... I can obviously picture you as someone who doesn't have a very healthy tan sitting in a chair that your butt has consumed from eating to many processed food snacks, a few questionable stains and spots on your keyboard and the floor in front of you, with a pair of headphones on because your mom told you to "turn that crap down".

And before you accuse me of being a fanboy... well... I like the game and doyney should put a little more thought into his financial investments rather than bitching about it on a public forum.

GW takes some time. The first time I played it I hated it but I decided to start again with a new character and it was not so bad - the key to GW is to do all the quests and don't move on until you've done them all - if you see anyone with an exclamation mark accept their quest and just work your way through them. Now the only thing I dislike about the game is that the interaction with other players in the non-pvp section is really poor and there are too many perverts in the game asking me to take my clothes off - if there was some way to run my axe through these pervs it would make a better game. Eve used to be good and is now really bad - the last patch destroyed the game play of frigate fighters and traders and considering I was both of these I decided to quit. I have not tried WoW yet but I have to admit my neighbour's game did look impressive - I am a huge NWN fan but unfortunately it is not really an MMORPG game - mores the pity - if they made NWN a mmorpg game then I would be hooked for life. Back to GW though I am too much of a loner in games to enjoy playing with other people as allies, this is where Eve is better because you can do your own thing and chat to people too. In GW you have to work as a team and it is difficult to do your own thing while chatting to someone. I have yet to try the pvp side but it looks alright considering you can start with a max character instead of being at a constant disadvantage as in Eve. I did some of pvp arenas in the other side of the game they were fun at first but soon got boring.

Finally in answer to all those pervs who say why play a female charater if you don't strip, perhaps because I am a rl girl or have you never met one of those?

I think the biggest offputter for me of guild wars was the graphics. Its way too bright and artificially colourful. I'm surprised that its mentioned so many times for its graphics but I just find them really bad, especially for a mmorpg . I love the concept of the game, being able to gain a multitude of spells and only being able to use 8 of them, thus encouraging skill. But the actual implementation is horrid. The team pvp which I tried had nothing in the way of positional awareness which you can have with other pvp games and was more focused about who could hit the others first with their spells. Still, I might try it again sometime, it is free after all. And theres not many group based games which are.
