to say the "evidence" is circumstantial is an understatement. Although I do fully expect this to happen for real at some point.

Anyone know the emote for "rubs white cat while laughing maniacally" ?

Bioware is already EA in everything but the name. Thats why SWTOR was so crap.

Now that the Bioware name has been ruined, they may as well just get rid of the brand and convert it to EA

    EA devils !!!!

On seroius note i dont know how those two got to work on TOR after WAR disaster, Bioware is now just a name that EA is milking as much as they can.

Bioware that made Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter nights and Kotor is long gone......

Given that every other rumor about the whole SWTOR drama turned out to basically be true...I'm going to go ahead and think this will be the same.

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?

I mourned the death of Bioware years ago.

This is just a story about how the corpse is decomposing.

'Sandbox MMO' is a PTSD trigger word for anyone who has the experience to know that anonymous players invariably use a 'sandbox' in the same manner a housecat does.

When your head is stuck in the sand, your ass becomes the only recognizable part of you.

No game is more fun than the one you can't play, and no game is more boring than one which you've become familiar.

    R.I.P.  Pre-EA Bioware.

You know, I wonder if there is a single company that EA has purchased, which is hasn't destroyed.

Nope. And all studios I can recall made REALLY cool games before. EA is truly the BANE of creativity. It was quite rightfully voted as Americas Worst Company.

Not really all that shocking. Remember Marc Jacobs was betrayed and gotten rid of after Warhammer's massive failure. Never liked Jacobs but he was done wrong...that's EA for ya.

It's probably true. If I were to guess, when they sold to EA I'm sure there was a clause in which the docs needed to stay on until SWTOR shipped, and maybe 6 months post launch. Now that the game has been out (and tanked in retaining folks), they can legally leave and get on with their lives.

I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.

Maybe this is for the better though?   Maybe they'll leave and start up a new company.  I'm sure they'd loose all of their IP's but I'm sure they'd take some talented writers/devs with them to come up with some new ones.  The future of my beloved Mass Effect franchise looks bleak though.

Before the end of 2012 we will see allot more of this. EA going to start the garage sale and try to recoup some of that 400 million that vanished in swtor. I wonder if smed at SOE will swoop in and buy TOR off of them? He has done it a few times before.

You mean Mark "The piece of shit" Jacobs, the person who turned Dark Age of Camelot into a pve fest? He got what was coming to him. He shouldn't ever be allowed to work on or near games ever again.

This game literally cost a fortune to make and a fortune to maintain with a legion of servers which are now cut down and perhaps the cuts won't stop there. If EA and co do not break even or make anything back like they put in, metaphorical bloodbath's and slaughter will be an understatement.

Although this is still at "rumor" status, there's plenty to prove that EA has the opposite of the Midas Touch (whatever THAT may be called) when it comes to taking over ownership of studios and their games.

Now all the good developers betrayed by EA just have to get together and make the best MMORPG ever...
