If you look closely at the core of the eye, you can tell that there is a map relfected on the eye. Some on Facebook say it is Orr, but I can't tell. If it is a map, what could it be a map of? Orr? The dwarves coming back? Any theories?
That's probably a soft box. I mean, it could've been shot in an indoor studio.
ArenaNet wouldn't go as far as putting a secret message in the reflection of an eye.
It doesn't look like a softbox. If you look closely, you can tell there are deliberate shapes, as if it were a reflection of what the eye was looking at; an island, a continent, a piece of land with coast and a small penninsula on the bottom portion. With a picture of an eye this size and this close, I don't think its a secret messsage and I don't think its a softbox.
The picture itself is a teaser, most likely of a trailer for GW2; the reflection on the eye I think is also deliberate.
it's the eyelashes. the light is coming from above so the lashes are reflected sort of crosswise (meaning they cross over in the shadow).

yeah, I think you guys might be right. Though I'm not talking about the eyelashes or the shadowbox. Right around the pupil, you can see a darker shade surround the pupil in a shape that looks like a piece of land. At first I thought that could be a reflection of what the eye was looking at, but then it could be part of the eye itself.
We are now less than seven days from launch. This is way too obscure to work as viral marketing and if they are actually going to run some sort of advertising for the game, they are running out of time to do it in, if they want to drive pre-launch/launch sales.
I remember someone finding some reference to Arenanet maybe working with the marketing/media firm that designed the intro animation for Game of Thrones, but that was months ago and, once again, if they want to advertise the game, they might want to get going on that. I mean, 7 Days!
The viral marketing is working for me ... the suspense is killing me.
If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game.
I tend to think it is viral marketing. It's 'small impact' aspect marketing but it's also a very small cost/effort for the potential of many more happy returns.
Though I'd also like to think it was the dwarves too, in 6 days + a bit, people won't care if it had no real ties to the game as they will be playing too much to speculate.
I would guess that new pic is Eir swimming to the surface, or toward something that caught her attention - perhaps a dragon eye?

Most disturbing video I have seen in a while...
MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.
Thank you, Captain Obvious.

You are welcome.... you would not believe what I have read so far in multiple forums what that could be...
So - sometimes stating the obvious is not the worst thing to do...
Good point.

I believe that Eye is part of the Launch Trailer!!!! And it Looks like a real action one!
I Hope this incoming trailer features the song "Fear Not This Night" included in the OS by Jeremy Soule!!!
"Knowing" a little ArenaNet i tell you that NOTHING is casual... they LOVE to play with small details like that!
Remember the announcement date of release hanging on a wall on those T-shirts???
They are trying to tell us something....and soon we´ll see.....
