built this cpu a few weeks ago:
i5-3570k
msi radeon 7870
asrock z77 extreme4
crucial m4 128gb ssd
corsair hx750 psu
g.skill 8gb ram
asus vh236h monitor
windows 7
it was working fine about a week or so ago. then i shipped it 2 day shipping from NJ to AZ. just got it and hooked it up, plugged it in and for the dvi connection on my monitor the screen is all white with some thin red lines on it. so i try the hdmi connection and the computer turns on and then goes to the windows loading screen but gets stuck there or screen goes black. i just used this monitor on another computer and it worked fine. i tried my computer with a second monitor and i am getting the same issues which leads me to believe its either an issue with my video card or maybe even the ssd. like i said i do get to the windows 7 loading part where it shows the windows 7 logo with the colorful squares.
can any help me troubleshoot this please? will try anything. thanks

1. im no expert.
2. re-seat all of the hardware. remove the card, and put it back in. remove the ram and put it back in. check the hard drive connections .. just check all of the connections, internal and external. (dont re-seat the processor (or at least wait till someone smarter than me tells you to re-seat the processor))

Well, you built your own computer, so I'm going to assume a certain level of know how here.
Try booting into safe mode, see if it's a windows error.
Your motherboard has onboard video, so you can also take the video card out, plug the monitor into the motherboard and see what happens.
If it's the hard drive, you can try booting to a command prompt and running a chkdsk. Honestly, I'm not as familiar with SSD's yet, so I'm not sure if that works quite as well on those. But I imagine something's up with the video card anyway.
It's possible that during shipping some of the connectors got loose or something. I would definitely open up the tower and see if there are any issues.
If the processor was properly installed, it shouldn't move. Once it's locked into place, it's very hard to rattle it loose.
I am not an expert, but i saw 2 monitors were having issues with wire(PC to Monitor), so maybe you should check this wire.
When wire was damaged, sometimes when you touch wire there were red/green/yellow colours and sometimes normal.
Could you imagine this?
On launch night? Freakin horrible.......Starving children in the world, people out of work, cancer and Aids.....
er wait...nevermind
They said they might start up the servers 3 hours early.
While in safe mode does everything basically look normal?
Relax! I know you are eager, but Tyria won't run away!
If you can run on safe mode, you may need a reinstall of windows or check the harddisk. In DOS times it was CHKDSK. Not sure how it goes with Windows 7, I am still at XP. Maybe the harddisk has some errors on some sectors. Virus check may be possible. Sorry, difficult to say from afar. *crosses fingers* ^^

Did you just look at them or did you replug everything back in? I moved my computer once to a different house and it wouldn't boot up. I looked at everything and it was fine. I eventually unplugged the hard drive sata cable and put it back in and it worked. It hadn't come out of the drive, but it was loose enough to not be connected anymore.
Yeah but... what if you have AIDS and cancer and this happens to you?
That would be really frustrating.
As others have said:
Remove the video card and reboot. You have onboard graphics on your CPU. Iif the game loads, well you know the GPU was the issue. Next, try and uninstall the drivers, reinstall from scratch, and reseat the graphics card.
If it works, great... if not.. sounds like your card was damaged, but you CAN play GW2 on the integrated graphics on yourchip. I did it in BWE2 (not by choiuce) and I got 30 FPS in WvW with settings between balanced and performance.
GoodLuck!

hes come to an internet forum about gaming and asked for help from people with nothing better to do for the next 3 - 6 hours ... what's your point?
it's not like he's petitioning congress to suspend the healthcare budget to spend a billion dollars helping him fix his computer ...

After having read the thread I am quite sure that you do not have a hardware problem but a software one.
If you really are that desperate, simply reinstall the OS.
You can also download one of those bootable Linux CD, like some Ubuntu version. They can work with NTFS format, so you are going to be able to read the data on your hard drive, and they detect any external hard drive no problems, so you are gonna be able to copy any valuable data into it. You don't need to install anything, just put the CD on and go, asuming your computer BIOS is configured to have CD as first boot device, or at least before the hard drive. You probably know how to set your BIOS that way, but I ll be happy to explain you how to do so if you don't happen to know how to do it. Or any other forumite will do.
Just backup your important stuff and format the hell out of your computer. Nasty problem? Nasty solution. :P
