1. Regions
1.1 New Areas
'Godad' and 'Rune' have been added north of Aden area. The new areas contain Godad Castle town, Rune Castle town and Godad Castle. Godad and Rune hunting areas will feature high-level monsters with unique AI, enabling a refreshing hunting experience.
1.2 New Hunting Grounds
1.2.1 Barka Silenos Station (Godad area)
The Silenos Station is situated south of Godad, west of Godad Castle town. The location is home to Baruka Silenos, which are the stronges of the Silenos race.
The player is able to choose sides between Baruka Silenos or the Ketra Orcs.
To gain favour with the Ketra Orcs the player must hunt in the Barka Silenos Station. On the other hand, to gain favour with the Silenos the player must hunt in the Ketra Orc Outpost .
Once the player has gained enough favour s/he's gains benefits such as access to the town's shops and warehouse.
Forming friendship with the Silenos proceeds through a quest.
1.2.2 Ketra Orc Outpost (Godad area)
Located north of Godad Castle town, Ketra Orc Outpost is home to the Ketra, the most dangerous and competetive of the orcs.
Players sided with the Baruka Silenos can hunt here to gain their friendship.
Once the player has gained enough favour s/he's gains benefits such as access to the town's shops and warehouse.
Forming friendship with the Ketra Orcs proceeds through a quest.
1.2.3 Wall of Argos (Godad area)
This is the wall behind which Argos, the giant with a hundred eyes, is said to be trapped after angering Einhasad. Located east of Godad castle town, the area is an open-type dungeon shaped with maze-like cliffs similarly to Enchanted Valley. The road to 'Tomb of Kings' (dungeon) passes through here as well.
1.2.4 Imperial Graveyard (Godad area)
Tomb of kings is a secret burying gRuned of Elmore and Aden royalty, found in east Godad area. The entrance is accessed through 'Wall of Argos'.
This dungeon is proceeded through unlike others. Certain parts of the dungeon are accessible only as a party, and are hunted by proceeding along the area room after room.
1.2.5 Hot Springs (Godad Area)
Found in the northern part of Godad, the Hot Springs owe its higher temperature to the nearby 'Brazier of Gods'.
Many animals venture here to rest among its warm waters.
The monsters in this area cast unique debuffs that at first appear to be beneficial but turn harmful over time. These diseases can be cured by water sprouting in Hot Springs.
1.2.6 Brazier of Gods (Godad Area)
The Brazier is located in the northeast part of Godad.
The Path of Fire, the only entrance to the Lair of Valkalas, is found here. In addition, items useful in raiding Valkalas can be obtained from hunting monsters in his area.
1.2.7 Garden of Beasts (Godad Area)
Near Godad Castle Town are various untamed beasts that are similar in looks but differ in their skill use and attack pattern.
1.2.8 Gateway of Ghosts (Rune Area)
This gateway situated at the border between Godad and Rune is home to the ghosts of those that died during their attack on the Swamp of Screams.
The undead monsters that appear here hold grudges against those that leave Godad without taking control of the Swamp.
During the day, the gateway is quite peaceful. It is only at night the undead come to haunt.
1.2.9 Valley of Saints (Rune Area)
Found north of Rune Castle Town, the valley is the burial gRuneds for those that have earned the title Saint under the ruling of Einhasad in Elmore and Aden.
Monsters with various unique skills in their arsenal appear in this area.
1.2.10 Wild Animal Pasture (Rune Area)
The Pastures were originally built to raise animals for army use, but the uncontrollable savageness of the animals lead to the abandonment of the project.
The player is able to purchase feed from the Breeder who remains there to study new breeding techniques and feeds.
If the player successfully tame a savage using the feed, it can become a pet and follow the player to town or aid the player in his/her hunts until s/he logs off.
1.2.11 Forest of the Dead (Rune Area)
Located east of Rune Castle Town, the forest is tainted by the massacre of Von Hellman's rebel group in the hands of the Loyalists.
Rumours of rotting corpses present in the forest keep passerbys away from this deserted area.
Monsters appearing in the forest differ from night to day, but are mostly undead, vampiric and necromancer type monsters.
The corpses found in the area can be used by players but also by necromancer monsters to attack players.
1.2.12 Swamp of Screams (Rune Area)
East of Rune Castle Town, past the Forest of the Dead, is the swamp where Stakatos that failed in their war against Elmore Kingdom dwells and aims to grow.
Buffs and debuffs exist in this area, to the benefit of Stakatos and not the players.
1.2.13 Dimensional Gap
This new Seven Signs dungeon is completely different from the existing Necropoli and Catacombs.
Effects of the Seven Signs has caused a dimensional gap through which demons are launching an attack.
Because of the time and space warp present in the area, the player may be ported to various parts of the gap against his/her wishes.
The gap is accessible by registering a high festival score or through mission items aquired in Catacomb and Necropoli.
Player groups are auto-ported into different rooms of the dungeon, sometimes for good, sometimes for worse.
With a bit of luck, the group may be ported to a room with a raid boss that drops a rare item.

4.1 Fire Dragon Valakas
In Chronicle 4, the newly added boss monster, the Fire Dragon Valakas, is one of the ancient dragons who were the first of Shilen's offspring. Valakas makes its lair in the volcanic area of the Godad region inside what is called the 'Brazier of Gods'.
4.1.1 In order to reach Valakas' lair, one must use the 'Corridor of Fire' on the upper floor of the Brazier of Gods. But, to go to that place, one must complete the 'Into the Flames' quest given by Kline, the Lookout of Valakas, located in the Brazier of Gods. One has to hand over a one-time-use floating stone.
4.1.2 In the Corridor of Fire, subordinate monsters such as Kin of Valakas and Chief Gatekeeper of Valakas make appearances. One can obtain special items from these monsters to assist with the fight against Valakas.
4.1.3 Since the area one can battle Valakas in is a volcanic area, one can suffer incredible damage from the lava.
4.1.4 Unlike the Lair of Antharas, entrance to Valakas' lair is limited to 200 people.
4.2 Additional Pets
4.2.1 3 additional pets have been added. These newly added pets may be obtained either through a quest for each type or by giving to a pet manager a pet trade ticket that can be produced by each clan hall. The newly added pets are as follows.
4.2.2 The special characteristics of hatchlings and striders have been changed.
The newly added Godad Castle in the Godad region differs from existing castles by being placed on a steep mountain thereby giving off an aura of a fortress. There is no new castle in the Rune region.
4.4 Clan Halls
4.4.1 Auctionable Clan Halls
4.4.4 The scroll of enchant armor can now also be produced by using the item production ability provided by the Bandit Stronghold and Devastated Castle.
4.4.5 Aside from the existing method of going through a quest to apply for the Bandit Stronghold, an additional method of paying with adena has been added.
4.4.6 One can view the list of participating clans for the Bandit Stronghold by speaking with the messenger.
4.4.7 To match their expanded abilities, the teleport fee for occupiable clan halls has been made 500 adena, the same as the fee for auctionable clan halls.
4.4.8 Miscellaneous
4.5.1 The teleport NPC placed within castles have been removed.
4.5.2 Instead, it is possible to teleport inside/outside of the castle doors by speaking with the doorkeeper. Through the castle lord's transfer of authority, clan members may also teleport.
4.6 Siege-related Changes
4.6.1 Due to the addition of Godad Castle, it has been changed so a maximum of 4 castles may have a siege at the same time.
4.6.2 The purchase of mercenaries used in siege is now possible only during the Seven Signs' seal effectiveness period.
4.6.3 The number of mercenaries that can possibly be placed in each castle has been changed. One can confirm the possible number by speaking with the Mercenary manager.
4.6.4 Defenders can no longer attack the castle doors.

4.7.2 The amount of final products that can be purchased has been changed for each castle.
4.7.3 Together with the appearance of the new regions, cova seed(s) for high level-use has/have been added.
4.7.4 All castles may craft all producible items. There can be a difference in the maximum number of producible items based on each castle's possible number of purchasable harvest items.
4.7.5 The amount of normal seeds and improved seeds on sale has changed.
4.7.6 The seeds sale/purchase ratio has been adjusted. This ratio is different for each normal final product and improved final product.
4.7.7 For normal products, the maximum number of purchasable products has been changed to be slightly more than the maximum number of seeds on sale.

5.1 Player-related Changes
5.1.1 Player Level Cap Increased
The previous level cap of 75 in Chronicle 3 has been raised to level 78. Subclasses and the main class may be raised to level 78. A 3rd job change is possible and becoming a noblesse is possible. However, in order to become a hero, the main class must participate in the Olympiad.
5.1.2 3rd Job Change
Players who have reached level 76 may undergo the 3rd job change. Players who have undergone the 3rd job change have, compared to before, stronger skills. and can learn diverse new skills. Already acquired skills can be enchanted through a specific skill. Unlike the 1st and 2nd job change, there is no further division of the classes in the 3rd job change. This job change enables each class to be the only one class at the top.
5.2 Noblesse
Players who have leveled a subclass to level 75 and have completed the quest for it, may become a Noblesse. Players who have become a member of the Noblesse are bestowed with special skills or abilities [L2Center's notes: no, not weapon SA's...] The majority of them are skills used for sieges and raids. Noblesse, with the use of these skills, can lead the raids. When one becomes Noblesse, the main class and subclasses all become Noblesse. The Noblesse-specific skills may also be used by the main and all subclasses.
5.3Hero
Heroes arise from the 'Grand Olympiad', a PvP competition among the Noblesse. For the timespan of one month, those with the top scores are recorded. Only those people who have been selected as heroes may use the powerful hero weapons, be bestowed with a hero's abilities, and have one's body be blessed with a unique aura.
5.3.1 Determination of Heroes
Once the 1 month-long PvP tournament finishes, a hero is determined by olympiad points and can be the hero during the next month's tournament. The day and time when a hero is appointed is on the 1st of each month at 12 in the morning [midnight, I assume].
5.3.2 Selection of Heroes
Based on the main class, among the people who had 5 or more matches, the person with the most olympiad points per 3rd job class is selected as a hero. Immediately after their one month's cycle ends, the selected people are given a Hero Stand-by status. When under hero stand-by status, a hero's abilities and weapons are withdrawn/retracted. For example, if in this cycle one has the most olympiad points for one's class but participated in less than 5 matches, one cannot become a hero. Therefore, it is possible for a class to go without a hero for a cycle.
5.3.3 Confirmation of Top Ranking
All Noblesse may view the top 10 olympiad point holders for each class from the previous month's tournament by speaking with the Olympiad Administrator. However, those people who had 4 or less matches and failed to be appointed as hero are not listed. From this rankings list, through only the characters' names, the cost of an olympiad point which determines the final ranking cannot be known. That is, in the window where one can review the rankings list, only the names of the top 10 ranked people are shown. When large number of tied scores exist, a maximum of 15 people are shown.
5.4 Grand Olympiad
5.4.1 Grand Olympiad
The Grand Olympiad in which Noblesse compete 1:1 in PvP, is a competition to determine a hero. It lasts for the period of one month and at its conclusion, by each class, the Noblesse with the most olympiad ppoints accumulated ascends to become a hero. Only Noblesse who completed the 3rd job change can participate in the Olympiad tournament. For the test server, the Olympiad's period has been set to 5 days.
5.4.2 Tournament System
6. Skills
6.1 Skill Enchants
One of the new features is the ability to enchant skills.
The difference between enchanting a skill and levelling a skill through a trainer are the following:
6.1.1 Enchanting enhances the skill without compromise.
When a player levels a skill through a trainer, both the power of the skill and its MP cost increase
With enchanting, there will be no compromise such as rise in MP cost.
6.1.2 Skill effect to be enchanted are selectable
A skill can be enchanted in different ways.
For example, with Deadly Blow, the player is able to choose to enchant for reduced MP cost or reduced refresh time.
However, the branch of skill effect that is enchanted will be chosen with the first enchant, and the player cannot mix enchant branches.
6.1.3 Number of possible enchants are not limited by level
A character at any level can enchant their skill to the maximum limit.
6.1.4. Cost of a skill enchant is XP, SP and 'Titan's Secret Scroll'.
Titan's Secret Scroll is only needed with the first enchant. Sucessing enchants use only Xp and SP.
If the character lacks the XP or SP at his/her level needed to enchant, s/he will be unable to do so.
FOr example, a character at level 76 and 0.0% will not be able to enchant a skill due to lack of needed XP.
(note: in other words, you cannot delevel by enchanting)
6.1.5 Chance to Fail
Skill enchants have a chance of failing. Success or fail is determined at every enchant and if it fails, the skill is returned to its pre-enchant state.
For example, if the player enchants Deadly blow to +2 and then fails at +3, the skill will be returned to +0.
6.2 3rd Profession skills have been added
(note: that's ALL they've said about new class skills el o el.. sorry to disappoint. stay tuned I guess ^_^)
6.3 New Skills
6.3.1 New Summoner Skills
Warlocks, Elemental Summoners and Phantom Summoners now have new summoning skills as well as a mass summon cubic skill (party buffing cubic).
Necromancers also have a new summoning skill.
These skills start at level 40 after second class transfer.
6.3.2 New Common Skills
New common skills can be learned through the Fishery NPC. Item needed to train these skills are not SP nor spellbooks, but an item called 'Proof of Fishery'
'Proof of Fishery' is obtainable by exchanging with the Fishery NPC a specific item acquired from fishing.
Skills:
- Expand Craft : Increases Recipe Book slots by 6 at every skill level
(current slots 50; max slots 98 )
- Expand Trade : Increases Private Store slots by 1 at every skill level

- Expand Storage : Increases Warehouse slots by 6 (Dwarves) or 7 (Others) at every skill level
(current slots 120 for dwarves, 100 slots for others; max slots 168 for dwarves, 148 for others)
Each skill can be learned every 10 character levels. For example, if the player's character level is 40, s/he can learn each of the common skills up to skill level 4.
6.3.3 Regular Crafting Skills
Regular crafting skill 'Create Common Item' skill has been added.
All races, not just dwarves, can use the 'Create Common Item' skill.
This skill is used to craft new items that are not part of the items crafted by Dwarven artisans and warsmiths.
Various hair accessories, potions and dyes can be crafted through this skill using Regular Crafting recipes and materials, all earned through fishing.
Recipes are registered similarly to they way Dwarves currently register recipes to their recipe books.
Like 'expertise' skills, 'Create Common Item' skills level automatically as the character rises in level.
Character levels needed to level 'Create Common Item' skill are the following:
Create Common Skill Level 1 - Character Level 5
Create Common Skill Level 2 - Character Level 20
Create Common Skill Level 3 - Character Level 28
Create Common Skill Level 4 - Character Level 36
Create Common Skill Level 5 - Character Level 43
Create Common Skill Level 6 - Character Level 49
Create Common Skill Level 7 - Character Level 55
Create Common Skill Level 8 - Character Level 62
6.4 Changes to Existing Skills
6.4.1 Expertise S is now acquired automatically at level 75
6.4.2 Players cannot cast sleep/hold/paralyze on characters that are already under the effect of the same spell
6.4.3 Resurrection skills (including resurrection scrolls) have been changed so that the target no longer needs to be in party.
(The character being rezzed will be able to choose to be rezzed.)
6.4.4 Fatal Strike's power has been increased.
6.4.5 Guts and Frenzy's skill activation condition has been changed from HP 20% -> HP 30%, and duration has been changed from 30 seconds to 90 seconds.
6.4.6 Cancel's success rate has been greatly reduced, but the cooldown time of the spell has been shortened.
7. Fishing / Clan Warfare
7.1 Festival of Darkness Changes
7.1.1 'Blood of Sacrifice' drop rate has been increased
7.1.2 Mobs with new attack forms have been added
7.2 Fishing
The fishing system is meant to add a new and fun way to acquire materials needed in creating useful items.
At each store or harbor, a Fishery NPC will be placed to sell fishing equipment and to train fishing skills as well as the new common skills.
7.3 Community Panel Changes
7.3.1 A search function has been added to the clan list. List is searcheable by clan name and clan leader.
7.3.2 Clan announcement function is now available. When the clan leader composes an announcement and sets announcement alert to 'on', all clan members will receive the notification upon login.
7.3.3 Regional information can be accessed through the Regional Community option. Here, the player can see such info as castle ownership, tax rate, clan hall ownership, and clan hall bidding date.
7.4 Raid Boss Changes
Some raid bosses were reduced in difficulty, while some that require more dyniamic combat tactics were added.
7.5 Clan Warfare Changes
In Chronicle 4, the clan war feature has been revised to facilitate open-field warfare.
The system detailed here completely replaces the existing clan war system.
Only the leader of a level 3 or higher clan that has 15 or more members can declare war.
/outgoingwarlist : list of clans that the player's clan has declared war on
/incomingwarlist : list of clans that have declared war on the player's clan
/twowaywarlist : list of clans that the player is in two-way war with
(note: the commands are completely inaccurate as I can only guess how NCNA will choose to translate them)
This holds true even if the enemy clan hasn't declared war in return.
8. Quests
Translated by Wae at L2C
8.1 Adventurers Guild Agent
For the convenience of players carrying out quests or raids, an "Adventurers' Guild Member" NPC has been added to each town. Their roles are as follows.
8.1.1 Introduce players to existing quests in the Lineage 2 world (quest name, restrictions, recommended levels, starting NPC, and whether or not it is repeatable), as well as show the starting NPC's location on the map and as a directional arrow [L2Center's notes: i.e. when you are a beginning character, you get that large 3-D arrow surrounding you to guide you to places.]
8.1.2 Provide information on existing raid monsters in the Lineage 2 world (level, monster name), as well as display their locations on the map and via the 3-D directional arrow.
8.2 Quests
The newly added Chronicle 4 hunting areas make the game even more fun, and to make the game even much more fun, a variety of quests have been added. Moreover, important quests such as 3rd job change quests and Noblesse quests have been added.
