I laugh at people saying EQ2 is failing and stuff, they surely are on crack. The populations have never been higher and SOE is raking the money in and with good reason: the game has never been more fun!
Last night I had the best group ever in Blackburrow. It was 2 warriors, a druid, a rogue a conjuror and monk. I dinged 18 and got a difficult quest done, was such a blast.

its good to see that a year after they released the game they finally are starting to make a finished product. This game was beta when it was released.

sorry pirrg, ive tried to be nice, but i cant take senseless eq2 bashing from someone who doesnt/never has played the game any more. i'm not denying that eq2 has flaws, but i don't think youve ever said anything good about the game. and if you are in fact "just stating facts" as you say, you would have to admit, there are at the VERY least some great qualities of the game. alas, you have never said any. that is why people call you a troll.

Sure but I didn't say best fantasy game, I said best fantasy game out now. Just because Mcdonalds has served over 3 billion people doesn't make them the best food, the best food is up to opinion and some fact. It is my opinion that EQ2 is the best fantasy game out right now, and I stand by that.
Yesterday they added a patch which tweaked a bunch of UI settings and even added a new self buff for my warrior. Also added Halloweend decorations all over the city, pumpkins everywhere and guards wearing halloweend masks.
I love video games and I am the video game king. I love all games as they have something to offer, each in their own way. Right now EQ2 is really just rocking my world. I think my computer has a lot to do with it though. I have the best NEC LCD monitor available on the market with DVI inputs and my gig stick of dual channel ram along with ATI Radeon X800 pro video card are working together perfectly to make a game that dazzles all of the senses.

How long has it been since you played Trial of the Isle? You're basing your info on what you saw when you played the Trial, and then it said low population. That's acceptable, but when I created my newest character I saw that almost all the of the servers were registered as medium population save for about seven or eight which registered on high. Unless, of course, you're viewing some unofficial statistics different from what I'm seeing, in such case I again call on you to provide links and/or screenshots.
I have two chars in the big city area now and I'm seeing that the area is usually plum full of characters in all level ranges, including gobs of brand new characters in their teens. Thus, I'm finding it very easy to get into groups when I need to and feeling lonely when I play just isn't a factor that I've had to deal with yet, so that takes care of that. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
In terms of my first-hand experience versus your negligible experience on the matter, I really don't think that the number of players in EQ2 and its server populations should be an issue anymore. Find something else to flame and troll about if you really feel the need, but, between you and I, as a piece of friendly advice...

Since i live in sweden, i checked in at about 6pm swedish time which is about 1pm american time. It seems some servers fill up towards midnight since thats around 6-7pm in the US, but to claim that they are all constantly at medium/full is an exaggeration.
The european servers NEVER go to medium though, ever. Which also is the case for numerous other servers, even US based ones. I believe the people on these servers got tired of looking for groups and simply migrated to Antonia Bayle. At least thats the general impression i get from reading the eq2 forum.

Yesterday evening when runnyeye crashed again i checked server list and splitpaw showed up as heavy. also runnyeye is quite busy. 2 antonica instances is standard on Runnyeye, and the expansion areas are quite populated (too busy sometimes especially people have to compete for harvest nodes).
