Lineage I's technical level cap is 257 I think (if you do the programming values). But in reality, no one will hit that level... the grind is exponential. The game's been out for over 10 years in Korea, and they play hardcore over there, and the highest level is around 80.

WoW took me according to what the /played thing told me 15 days to get to lvl cap or like 5-6 months of playing. I dont know why people called WoW easy maybe they havent played a horde character in a pvp server which questing is pretty hard since many times you'll be ganked by a group of alliance players. And about end game content maybe theres not much but lvl 60 chain quests are long as hell which will take you some hours to complete. The reason for WoW lvling is quite fast is because there are so much quests which i found this great i prefer ten million times doin quests than grindin.
I find MMO where lvling is slow, stupid like FFXI lvling sucks and in Lineage 2 is awful too. Dont know about how lvling is on those game today but back when i played those game lvlin was a bitch.

257 would be the limit, but its capped at 85 right now (I think), but it dosn't really matter, because whenever its reached, its raised.

That new was from some weeks ago, maybe even some months. So it could be easily 70 +. But i dont care. We can keep argueing if you want. But its you who was wrong.
About if its a niche or not. Thats your opinion. But in average, its the best game right now, according with the stadistics on this site at least. And thats a fact.
But how long to raise only 1 skill to 250? The peoples can then figure by themselves how many skills they want to raise to 250. I quit at 126 or so, so I have no idea how long it would take past the 200ish limit, but there was sure many player sitting at 250 skills and more or less motivated in raising others skills.
I think it is safe to say that a skill take about 30 minutes per point up to 126...but beyond that, I have no idea...and in the end it was more then 30 minutes per points...yet not much more since in the end, I was only working my skill up in big group, otherwise was on foraging or lower skills (hehe 20 raise for lower skills may take like 4 hours once you have a higher melee skill and know a little how to mess around).

I just think you might believe. When I say niche I mean it in bad way. Niche to me is a game that only appeals to a small percent of people. Hence why I consider Eve-Online to be a niche. Alot of people have and will try Eve-online. Most won't stick around though. As Fantasy ( Someone please stop all these developers from making fantasy games) is the most popular theme for MMO's and RPG's in general. Numbers don't make a game niche. The theme and content do.
In War - Victory. In Peace - Vigilance. In Death - Sacrifice.
Overall I could care less about lvl caps. The moment I hit a lvl cap I am pretty sure that the game itself is about to be finished for me.
WoW was literally 12 days of game play to hit lvl 60 Alliance. That took me a grand total of 3 weeks real time. Got so bored of it that I just quit after hitting lvl 60 on a horde as well.
Lineage 2. Played for 18 months.. never hit end game. Best I hit was lvl 56 prophet, 48 Warsmith. Played that game for the community and the clan I was in. Left when the clan began to dissintgrate.
Final Fantasy XI. I love Final Fantasy games. I hate this one . I played this off and on for 6 months. Hit lvl 18 on all my basic classes before quitting. Horrible grind, and a game that requires a party at all times. If you do not have the ability to sit for 6+ hrs at a time then you will never get anywhere in that game.
Eve Online. Been playing for 3 months. No cap as stated before. Community based game which IMO is the best aspect of the game. I can foresee myself playing this game for along time. I also believe that anyone can be as good as anyone else in this game after a month of playing. Its all on what you train. I can already fly most mid sized ships, mine with the best of them, and defend myself in 0.3 sec space well enough to solo. I can hold my own versus the veteran players.
Guild Wars. 4 hrs to max out at lvl 20 if you are powerlvled. 20 hrs if you start on your own and get into a good group.
Again i dont play to cap my toons i play for the environment and the community. If it has a strong community base then I can last forever even if my toon never really lvls too fast.

well, some time ago (2 or 3 weeks, right before the problem with the "My Character" page and the Eve Character Manager) i tried to put on the training queue al the skills on the game. i couldnt because the program crashed, but not counting the gunnery skills (a LOT of skillpoints, but those where the last i decided to introduce on the queue, so they didnt make it before the crash), it was like 18 years to complete. and that was with maxed advanced learning skills and +7 implants, which i believe do not exist yet on the game.
so i guess that with gunnery skills, and +3 or +4 implants, it would be like 20 years to get all the skills to level 5
Lineage 2 grind to top level is about 75-85 days if you play 24/7 like those commercial game currency farmers or powerlevelling services do. So about 2040 hours of non stop grind if you don't die or do somethign else.

FFXI cap is lvl 75. It can honestly be hit in about 2 1/2 months to 3 months. With good linkshell and about 8 hours of game time a day. I've known people that joined the server a small group. (2 Brothers, a gf, 2 best friends, and a co-worker) Most of them working together hit 75 just under 2 months.
