Dude say it isnt true!! I cant believe they turned it into another Virus stricken zombie Resident Evil knockoff. This is Doom! It's supposed to be about the Gates of Hell opening up. Awwww Man I hate Hollywood! Supposedly the guys from Id claim that they had input into the making of the movie. Judging by this news flash this isnt the case.
It's really sad that the guys from Id were bought out like that. It's sacriligeous to alter the story of Doom. My faith in mankind has been compromised.
I am afraid so Dark... I lost my faith in humanity after I saw Blade III, the first two kicked ass, then the 3rd one was a shameless plug for the ipod and nothing else... Movies are continually getting worse and worse...
BLADE III was bad becuase they put in a young, inexperienced directer and they locked Snipes out the editing room. Snipes pretty much had his own moves and good ideas that made the first two to be kick ass.

I won't intentionally see it. Usually game movies don't live up to the games. I see this one as being worse. Mainly cause the "rock" plays lead role. Don't like the "rock" and the movies he plays lead in. They just....suck. The movie doesn't seem like it's going to be consistent with the doom storyline.

I agree with part of your statement. The story takes place on Mars where the UAC is working on a new teleportation technology. In the process they do open a portal to another dimension and that dimension is hell. I'm not sure if the actual word "Hell" is used in the story but when you take into account all the Satanic imagery and Pentagrams it's safe to say that this is Hell.
And the story had alot to do with demons as thats what they were called. Some of the mobs in the game were called Cyber-demon, Caco-demon, Hell Knight, and the Barons of Hell. Some had horns and Goat Hoofs just like the ones depicted in folklore.
So it goes without saying that Doom was originally about a portal to Hell opening up.
I dont' knwo if I want to watch it.. the rock kinda freaked me out on The Daily Show, he wasn't all that impressive personality wise. Imma go watch it when it comes out of dvd or tv.

I think the big thing is that video games are beating movies in revenues now. Since 2002 I think. So now movie makers are trying to bank on that. Not a bad idea to do this. Just dont Uwe Boll do it. That man has no business behind a camera. Maybe behind a mop cleaning up after but not a camera.
The one movie I wish they would make is Half-life. But with all the FPS movies out there, it would probably be just more of the same. And who could you get to play Gordon? Really the only one who could do it would be Micheal Keaton just because of when he did Batman and everyone asked "Are you kidding? Micheal Keaton?" then after they saw it "Micheal Keaton is the best Batman ever!" heh

I agree. Half-life would make an excellent movie in that it was story driven. You know Michael Keaton would probaly make an excellent Gordon. Gordon would have to be played by someone thats an average Joe. Not some super tough guy like the Rock but not quite a push over either because Gordon does a decent job kicking butt.
