I personally think that it is great that women are playing games more. Adds flavor to an otherwise boring and dull testosterone fest. They add something that men just cannot add. When I played WoW there was a few real life females in my guild. They were equal if not better at playing the game and communicating. I wish more would play video games. I think alot of females think there is a stigma for females playing a video game. This is the 2000's people can do what they wish now.

Yeah, women play WoW. Back when I still had time to play one of my favorite people to group with was a hunter that in RL was a grandmother of 3, and she started out on a PvP server. She was leveling much faster than I was though, probably going to be in the mid 50s if not 60 by time I can come back (we were both around 40 when I left a month or two ago).
Yeah i think its pretty cool girls play wow and games like that. it doesnt effect me tho im indifferent on the subject i just dont think people should make a big deal on girls playing games, i know if i were a girl and playing a game the last thing id want is people trying to cornhole me.

When I played FFXI, again...plenty of women around. Now granted, in beta I was in an all Mithran guild (female only-cat race) and came to find out that 80% were men...but I won't get into that. I played SWG and had several women in my guild, real women. Played EQ2 and had women in my guild. Ya see the trend yet? My WoW guild has several women, good players too....myself included.
Women play games and are pretty damn good at it. There's not really any excuse to act surprised. We are human and we like games too

I've never been surprised by girls/women playing MMO's or any games for that matter. What is disheartening are the guys that play female chars and try to pass themselves off as girls by offering to strip for money, or do any other immature action. It's just annoying to me.
The only other thing that bothers me is that as soon as someone says they're female in RL, you get the inevitable "ASL" response or something similar.
And if you make a sexual comment about a female character, you'll know immediately if there's a girl behind the keyboard.

No, not weird, just have different taste. I personaly love 3d graphics, expecialy women in 3d graphics. I appreciate art but I appreciate more when women are repsented in an artistic expression (picture, video, 3d rendering).
When I play WoW, it is mostly for the gameplay, but once in a while, I simply sit back, and enjoy the lovely view of my NE hunter or a human paladin. And thats when I think: "Yes, thats exactly why I made my character a SHE". I can always appreciate the beauty of a female image, whether it is in a video, picture, or rendered in a game. Its all good.

well i don't know if it is just me but i have met quite a few females in the games i play that i know are females irl. hell me and my girlfriend play right next to each other, and prolly my best friend in game that i don't know irl is female (i know she is female because i am friends with her boyfriend and cousin to).
but when i see a female character i don't automatically assume they are female irl, but does it really matter? i treat all my friends and all the people in game the same and really, if you are trying to pickup female avatars in a mmorpg you really should get out more.
I have my doubts that women play games... They are simply not interested. I have quite a few female friends and they all have no interest in games... Maybe the occasional beat em up, or racing game on a console...but even then they wont play it for long. I think it is just wishful thinking. We would like to see 'real women' play, but the reality is it just inst appealing to thier gender.
Also, I have a friend that plays FFXI. And he plays a female character, and 'roleplays' as one. However not to get items, gil, etc.. But just simply to 'be one.' Maybe to get more attention by the community maybe? I am guessing this might be the case for alot of males that pose as females.

I probably have close to 20+ women in the guild Ive been a part of for 3 years. Mostly wives of the guys that play but a few are single that like to play. And yeah we use ventrillo, so I know for a fact they are women.
