I got there at 7pm and there was a HUGE line just camping out
so I waited a couple hours and got a call from my girlfriend to pick her up after she got off work from A&F...
so I just said screw it, besides, it wasn't for me, it was for my best friend, as a Christmas gift
I just hope there are enough in stock for me to get him one before Christmas now

I absolutely do not want one but I will probably get one for Christmas because my mom has no clue what to buy me these days. She just buys the newest hippest item and hopes for the best. Then I tell her to return and just give me the money and she gets pissed because I'm ungrateful.
that actually sounds pretty ungrateful considering that this will be hard to find, expensive and everyone else wants one.
Release for the Xbox 360 is later here in Europe
Not that I'm going to get one anyway. Pc all the way. But the US release was covered on various websites over here. Sounds like alot of americans are angry because they don't have enough to supply all, not even all people who preordered are getting it. But that was already known this spring. There was also a fun news report, some guy with a gun robbed a shop for 2 Xbox 360's 
What I have heard about the product itself sounds good. Decent launch titles, Oblivion is missing, but besides that they all have gotten good reviews. Call of Duty 2, Project Gotham 3, Perfect Dark Zero, Condemned and Kameo all have recieved good reviews. If you got a HD tv/screen the graphics are awesome. Physics and graphics run very smooth on most of the games. The console start up very fast too, just a few seconds time is needed. People are also very pleased with the other functions of the console. It takes about 2 min for a avarage technical person to set up the wireless streaming of media from you computer. Nice features.

It's amazing how few 360s they're sending out. My gamestop recieved 14 and we had about 120 prepaid. The 2 walmarts in my town recieved 10 each. Toys'r'us recieved 4. Best buy and circuit city recieved maybe 10 each.
My town only has about 75k people but it still seems like they're being a bit crazy with the number they're sending out. I could see if we had another shipment coming next week, however there is not another shipping date in sight.
There is no best MMORPG, only favorites.
same here. my gamestop got 6(4 premium and 2 core) and weve got 87 preordered (i think). all we got is games and covers. no controllers, not HD, no nothin.

What i'm wondering is what is Microsoft gonna do when Sony releases the PS3... what market plan are they going to take... I can bet 5 bucks that they are going to reduce prices on the 360 to 279.99 and 379.99 mark my words. Microsoft is already planning for the release of the PS3... I can bet that is the reason why they are stiffling sales of the Xbox... because like the day before the PS3 comes out they will drop prices and Storm the stores with Xbox stuff ....

The graphics are great, but nothing the PC wont be able to compete with in just a few months.

If your speaking of what Xbox360 graphics are nowadays.... then yes, PCs will get to that lvl in a few months... HOWEVER, in a few months developers will already have learned how to get a bit more from the 360, and the PC graphics will still be outdated.... Not to speak that a computer to play with 360 graphics will cost you 1.xK at least... Thats what I think, and what Ive heard

Yeah people seem to think since Xbox had better graphics than PS2 that the Xbox 360 will have better graphics than the PS3.
PS2 came out way before Xbox, that's the only reason Xbox beat them graphics wise. PS2 was way ahead of it's time, and now that Xbox 360 and PS3 are head to head, it's not suprising that PS3 will surpass Xbox 360 in graphics.
XBOX 360 is not worth buying until probably next holliday season. If ever.
Well you guys have to think of graphics on consoles and graphics on PC's totally differently...
Consoles have the limit of processing power... So when developers are making games they take short cuts and degrade the amount of processing that has to be done by the console... So it looks really good....
But PC's their goal is just to get as much out of a GFX card as possible.... even stretching and bending the limits of the card..... PC graphics are different because they try to do everything instead of only the important things.... Xbox's are like well our users aren't going to notice that this explosion has 10k particles while the PC people are like.... Sooo how many particles do we Want to give this explosion 50k? sounds good to me...
Xbox graphics are streamlined to neccessity... PC graphics just try to put as much as they can on screen.. Because they know that the system can make up for the other things with it's computational power, Memory management, bus times... blah blah...
Take for example online dynasty warriors... the game is beautiful but when you start facing large groups of enemies then they only draw the enemies that are closest to you.... and even then there is a limit of like 20... this is because in order for the game to keep it's speed up it has to limit the amout of things the game draws to the screen.....
While for PC games the number is much much higher...
I'm not saying that PC graphics are better I'm just saying that if the graphics were streamlined in the same way that consoles streamed theirs then graphics would look much more similar...
My room mate loves his console shooters... then one day i was playing COD and he saw there were like 30 human characters on MY TEAM all on the screen and he was amazed at how many things were going on....
While like for most people 10-20 people on a screen at the same time is more than enough to keep us busy...

First off I will state something just to get out of the way... yes I am a PS fan... However if your anybody you have to admit that xbox360 launch titles are eh at best... the only good game they have is Perfect dark Zero, while the rest of their titles are just crappy ports of other console games. THe reason I say crappy is because of the reviews that I have seen for them... ever single one took out all the gameplay and features... they were forced to rush the early deadline and killed their own games, some dont even have decent graphics, which is sad because it is obvios the 360 can handle it they just rushed everything.... what they are trying to do is squeeze PS out of the market but are doing a very poor job, hardware they arnt as well off, lunch titled sucked(except PDZ but it still was nothign to go brag about), and over all I think they just trying to overhype a semi good system by having shortages. I would not want the system now and I wont want it for a long time. I want to see what it can produce because so far its been lackluster at best... Heres to hopeing PS3 doesnt commit the same mistakes

Methane...please rethink your position on why there are not enough 360's in the market at the moment. Microsoft is not going to stunt it's market position by waiting to deliver enough of these and lower the cost just because of the PS3 launch. Micrpsoft is sacraficing a a few intial sells to make sure they have their distribution channels set before the holiday season. This is Microsoft's biggest chance to grab market share, just like people were complaining that they could not get their PSP the first couple days, stock will be coming in. By the time Sony gets the PS3 out, X-Box will be increasing their game titles, pumping out bigger and better games while PS3 is still going through their initial growing pains. Microsoft will want to make the most money possible right now. Currently demand is drastically out distancing supply and the prices will remain artificially high for a while longer. You are correct to assume X-Box's cost will drop near the PS3 release. Microsoft knows that PS3 is going to get its market share, so might as well grab as much as they can.
And by the way, I think the new processing chip (cell chip) I believe in the PS3 is going to double the X-Box's capabilities. I am excited to see what both bring, but still wont purchase either just after release.

Games using the Unreal 3 engine will be coming out and they'll have awesome graphics. I'm not sure about Gears of War or Huxley (don't know alot about them), but I'm sure Unreal Tournament 2007 will have great gameplay.
XBox 360 is also going to have some other nice titiles: Peter Jackson's King Kong, Call of Duty 2, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Dead or Alive 4.
