Left Neocron, now want good PvP mmorpg

Hi, left NC today as each patch seems to nerf it and ive had enuff. However I did find the Neocron !st person style PvP very good and i like the customisation of weopons also.
Are they any people that have played this that could recommend anything similar pls ?

I dont know about Neocron (only saw the screenshots), but WWIIonline is the best PvP nowdays. Loadouts will be comming soon...
But if u like futuristic than try Planetside...

WoW is in no way like Neocron and wont be serious PvP most likely.
It's the upcomming carebear game i promise!
Neocron owns Planetside. (Still Neocron is some serious buggy unbalanced code.. i know it i played it for over a year.)
If you want serious PvP eve online is worth a look for you (i really enjoy blowing up ppl with my battleship
) but it's no way like Neocron too ofc. (No direct control like aiming or something.)
The only game with aiming and first person i know besides the allready mentioned ones is Endless Ages. It's graphics are quite crappy and they have a very small community only but the ones who play love it. I just couldn't stand those colorful graphics after the nice post apocalyptic Neocron.
Conclusion: It's hard for ex-Neocron players since there is no comparable product around. Planetside is CS with monthly fee only. There's a very promising Neocron-like game in development but it will take a while until release i fear. Name is Face of Mankind.
I personaly dont like rpg/fps games. the fps factor is never as good as an accualy fps game, and same goes with the rpg part of it.
All in all, out of all the fpsmmorpg games i played id say neocron was the best. It had a good variety of weapons and such. Only thing i didnt like was that box aiming deal, where it would put a box around whatever was in your general aiming direction, was stupid and made it way to easy to hit targets.
Your only other 2 options would be Planetside (wich gets old after a month at most) and Endless Ages, if you can keep from having a seizure from the graphics.
Unless you get an accual fps game, there is no other mmorpg that has the kind of "PvP" your looking for that is worth paying for imo.

. i never saw wut the hype was all about, and i was right! woot! anyway, i hope im right in think wow will kick ass. just the screenshots look so... cuddly? being comfortable in an mmorpg is probably the most important part, since some of them can be pretty unstable.

Good PvP needs good balance, which is very difficult to achieve if you have different players and different playing styles.
That is why First Person Shooter PvP is so easy. Everyone has virtually the exact same playstyle, shoot'em dead. The only differences are in the gun types and ammunitions.
For most fantasy MMORPGs it's not that simple. WoW will not have good PvP. It will have consensual PvP which means unless the other person agrees, no PvP will take place.
That's not hardcore PvP, and I doubt that is what the original poster was looking for. You can hype up the game all you want, but if it's just not what someone is looking for, it's not going to be the "best" game for them.

What are some examples of PvP-only areas?
There are currently three types of PvP-areas available in WoW. The first is set faction battlefields like those seen in the March 2003 gameplay video. Players can go there, and members from opposing factions will be able to fight for their alliance with a strong objective in mind. They will be able to fight alongside NPC's, take over towns, and convert them to your faction. The next are regular PvP-only areas, where the pvp is free-for-all. In faction battlefields you will not be able to pvp with characters from your own alliance, but here, anything goes! Lastly, there will be huge arenas such as the one in Stranglethorn or Ogrimmar. Players will be able to come here to PvP or do special events, such as face off against round after round of increasingly difficult monsters. If the above can be believed... It will be consensual PvP, but not like duels.

Just a year ago I remember people saying same about shadowbane and SWG!!!!!
Good luck on your 2 year wait (remember this is blizzard who never turned out a game in time and this is their first shot at the MMO market).
As for original post well i played neocron in beta and it has a particular style whch i think is a bit unique in its combat .
So it will be hard to find such a game atm .
Star wars galaxies comes cloest in the PvP combat style but you have to find a good PvP guild for good action.
Planetside might be a better bet but it is a FPS in all sense .

I did look and show a modicum of interest in FOMK - interesting factional setting as well as faction rules. Holding a position of authority within a faction constantly means justifying your position ingame by meeting objectives - well at least, that was my understanding from reading the FAQ a couple of days ago? Looking past the setting and PvP, I didn't see much content but hopefully it will be fleshed out more. I'll keep an eye on this MMOG - even tho I should be playing Horizons on release - because it potentially has a balanced PvP system and risk vs reward rather than a gank fest.
On the whole PvP debate, I don't play a game because it has PvP nor I do I play a game because it doesn't have PvP. I play a game due to it's gameplay and how well it has implemented those features. PvE. PvP .. I don't mind - provided the gameplay is balanced and the fundamental game it well realised with good implementation of features.

Face of mankind is going to be a player controlled world, all the game content, Should become visible as the game starts to role. Since GM's and palyers will be creating the stories base on the actions in game. So no more controlled story line by the developer they leave it in our hands to develop the story line they just give us the timeline and the Senerio leading up to the beginning. being that there is no need to level in this game, players should be able to RP more than before.
I also don't see what the big deal with WoW is...
Anyways, FOMK does look like it may be something good. But as for currently released games? Don't think you'll find any other good ones besides Planetside (Which I don't think is all that good anyways
