When you purchased a founder pack they stated and are still stating that it is worth $xxx dollars this being the items and the AD you were given now with this exploit the AD is worthless due to the amount of duped AD around so they have sold a produce that they are saying even to this time is worth $xxx and it is not. Does that not break the terms under any agreement.
When you convert the AD you get from the pack into zen it has been devalued dramatically from what they said it would be but the are still advertising the pack at the same values.
As i said i am no lawyer and im not sure but it is a thought.
While I agree that the exploit was entirely due to Cryptic's incompetence, I have to disagree that it's the basis of a lawsuit.
Technically speaking, the Dollar -> Zen -> Astral Diamonds rate hasn't changed. $1 still gets you 100 Zen, and 1 Zen still gets you between 50 to 500 Astral Diamonds (and vice versa), which is the exact same conditions that everyone agreed to when they made their purchases. That's the only thing that Cryptic/PWE promises and regulates, and it's what they actually deliver on.
How much Astral Diamonds are worth to other players is, sadly, entirely dictated by the market. Cryptic/PWE never guaranteed x amount of Astral Diamonds will buy you x number/quality of in-game goods, so any attempt to base a lawsuit on the devaluation of AD versus in-game goods would be tossed out of the court the moment Cryptic demonstrates AD still possesses the same dollar value prior to the exploit explosion.
tl;dr: this isn't their first rodeo, PWE has their bases covered. Mixed metaphors ahoy!

Seriously , someone defend this , someone excuse this , someone tell me how in any way this doesn't make NW not up to any even reasonable standards ?
This type of nonsense happens, when basic code base standards aren't followed. But its not limited to games, I've seen it in enterprise size application projects. Its hardly surprising, given the corners that get cut, to appease the bean counters quarterly reports. Its a shame that such things happen, but its not all that rare, out in reality.
