No one said other companies didn't do it. The fact that others do doesn't make his conclusion about "Gamestop selling out" any less invalid as an assessment of the number of people that like or dislike DRM. However, feel free to continue tossing around the insults rather than actually reading.

You're definition of "evolution" is losing freedom over something you own, for features that don't require the loss of that freedom in the first place?

This a joke? Knack and the Order alone make PS4 more worth it if we are talking games.

Had a Saturn and 64 instead of PS. Had an Xbox and 360 instead of PS2/3. Going to get a PS4 instead of Xbox One.

None of the 'exclusives' interest me, and they will be available on PC anyway. And the system, value and policies are just bad compared to PS4. PS4 is the clear winner of this generation.

How have the led the way for the past 10 years? PS3 and Wii both outsold the Xbox 360 lol...  Sure, Microsoft started off strong early on but with the Wii's price it beat it beat 360 sales without even trying. The PS3 took a bit longer to over take the 360 but by having a better library of games, a more gamer view on policies, and by having better hardware (Just like this time around) they even over took Xbox 360 in sales.

Sorry, Xbox 360 came in dead last with the last generation of consoles. By being the most expensive of all the systems, still having inferior hardware compared to the PS4, having most of it's exclusives on PC, and having yet even worse policies it looks like they are looking to hit dead last a great deal faster this generation lol.

Almost all of the Xbox One "exclusives" are slated for PC release which is why everyone is laughing.

Titanfall is also coming to PC and is counted as an Xbox One exclusive lol...

The problem here is that Microsoft has several Microsoft exclusives that they tried to label as Xbox One exclusives. They tried to fudge definitions a bit to increase their presentation at E3.

I totally understand and do not fault anyone who does not like Microsoft's new policies on the Xbox One. Three reasons why I'll be getting a Xbox One.

    1. The games. The games were just so much better than what Sony had to offer. Everyone was complaining after Microsoft's first Xbox One's reveal about how there was no focus on games. Totally understand and a very viable gripe but at E3 they clearly had the game advantage and games are what matters most to players. They had Ryse which looked very very good and TitanFall which was amazing. Those Titan mechs were awesome to watch in action. You also had Quantum Break which clearly is going to be open of the most innovative titles this next-gen. Sony maybe more policy friendly towards gamers but games are what matter the most.

    2. It is more than just games. Maybe because I'm in my 40's now I look at things a little bit different but having a console at home that gives you more than just games is very appealing to me and perhaps to the older gamer as well. We just don't like games, we also like sports and tv. To have that all in one box is quite nice.

    3. A more mature audience. The other thing I will mention that perhaps with Microsoft's new design for the Xbox One you may even get a more mature audience on the Xbox now. You know not every immature 15 year old can afford the new Xbox One. People always complained about  how the Xbox gets a bad rap with having a bad community. Perhaps now things will change now that Microsoft seems to be catering towards the more mature crowd these days.

Sounds a bit fanboyish to me tbh. I dont see any solid reasons on your list, all say is that you expect Xbox to get better games always compared to PS.

So you saw a bunch of launch titles and you assume Xbox will get more mature audience, sure, we can all now forget about the DRM and inability to re-sell/borrow your games. At least you dont have to buy your own security camera to your home since the Xbox will have its vigilant eye always watching!

I wont be buying either of the consoles since I dont like the clumsy pad controller, but if I would, my money would go for Sony with all the information currently available on both systems.

1.) I'm more inclined to grab the PC version of a multiplatform game.

2.) None of the "True XBox One" exclusive in that list interest me enough to swallow my principles and put up with the inconveniences of the console. They could have been really good games, but I may never know.

3.) I won't get into the multimedia stuff (sports, tv) as I don't live in the US.

4.) I think you got this backwards. The One is marketed as an all in one multimedia box, hence, everyone in the family will be using it. Maybe not for playing games at first, but I bought my mother a tablet so she can store her ebooks and recipes and now she's into Candy Crush Saga...among other games.

I don't know where you got your numbers from, but Wii sold more than 80 million units, making it the top seller, while the Xbox 360 sold 77.5 million making it number 2 and PS3 is estimated to have now sold 77 million making it almost tied for 2nd place. It is gaining ground.

Also, right now, pre-orders for the Xbox One are exceeding those for Ps4 by about 2.5%. The console "war" will continue to remain neck and neck over the long haul. I am terrified by the lack of mental faculties of anyone who can't objectively reason that.

These sales numbers are public domain and there is little discrepancy between sources. It may seem like everyone is bashing the Xbox but that is just your echo chamber on your computer gaming websites. It is not indicative of the over all climate.

Your comments are all over the place. How does PRISM or CISPA have anything to do with anti-piracy drm? I never referred to myself as being enlightened nor did I even refer to morals. In fact, not to be rude, but I should point out that you don't seem to understand how to use moral compass in a sentence. Furthermore, I am American, believe in standing up for both citizen and consumer rights. I never attempted to belittle anyone, however you have tried to insult me several times in your post.

I never called people babies or stated that they should agree. In fact all I have asked is for people to be well reasoned and think for themselves. I also implored people to do some research instead of just repeating rumors. I'm sorry if I somehow offended you.

    OP,

Ryse look amazing, but the combat killed that entire game for me. It is a quick time event festival the moment you engage in combat until you finish. These companies treat us gamers like we have some mental disability or something that we need to be guided even when swinging a sword. TitanFall isnt xbox exclusive, its coming to PC as well so the PC version will have my money for sure. We still dont know what Quantum break plays like, so far it looks good but without actual gameplay and more info on how the actual game is then i dont count it as a console seller yet. Metal Gear isnt exclusive, Forza (in my personal opinion alwas was behind gran turismo). I think the only two xbox one exclusives that i did like was the new cartoony parkour shooter and the curse of brotherhood and those 2 are not console sellers. I dont think the mature audience is necesarily accurate, all 360 annoying screamers will stay with xbox one too because they are a bunch of fanboys. But every console has a piece of that pie, even the PC so maturity level is just part of the gaming industry in general, not just one side.

I currently own ps3 and 360, this holyday ill trade in both for a ps4, im not a collector to keep a bunch of old stuff getting dusty at home. I will wait until Microsoft releases a revised version of the xbox one a lot cheaper, smaller and with corrections on some of the problems the xbox one already faces, if that never happens im not supporting them ever again on xbox.

I've been a hardcore Xbox fan for the last 8+ years. I refused to buy a PS3 b/c I liked all of the cross platform games better on the 360 due to better graphics/controller/online.   In my opinion the PS3 controller is one of the worst controllers ever made and I could never ever sit and play a PS3 game with that abomination of a controller.

With that said...I will be making the jump over to PS4.

Sony FINALLY made their controller more like the 360 (and that was my biggest complaint about the PS3)

I am completely against MS's bullcrap policies with used games, sharing, borrowing games.

The Kinect sucks..sorry.  Im not 7 I dont play any camera games for any system and I sure as hell don't want a mandatory always on camera in my living room when the system is powered on.

I have no interest in any of the exclusives for either system therefore I see absolutely NO reason why I should spend $100 more on a more restricted "big brother" console when I can buy a PS4 with all of the cross platform games available for less money.

I'm in my 40's too and have a smart TV that streams internet, a surround sound entertainment system and pay TV - I don't need a console for that. I need a console that's there for me after work so I can jam in a DVD and smash some zombies into oblivion etc.

    1) as for exclusives, there is barely anything worth noting on exclusives http://i.imgur.com/ZWK5YzZ.png

    2) Um, what? you can do everything on both, watch youtube, hulu, netflix, etc...but the difference is that you need XBL on xbox one to watch them, you do not on PS4

    3) excuse me? hahahaha, sorry you mixed up ps4 community with the xbox community

    4) Hardware is superior on the PS4, and 100 bucks cheaper

    5) no draconian DRM on the PS4, and no Online passes

    6) no kinect/ps eye REQUIRED on ps4

    7) theres 119 million people in the US without broadband, losing a large chunk of market there being always online

I have not bought a console since the PS2. but i am damn tempted to get the ps4 now.

I dont know anyone who will be buying the new xbox. I have asked numerous people."face to face" they all have said that thier done with xbox. The price of the system isn't the reason. It's the used games policy, internet requirement and the mandatory xbox subscription. They blew it. I have alot of friends that would get off work and play cod on xbox for hours killing each other... They will continue to do so ... But not on the xbox.

exactly, screwing your paying customers is not the smartest way to deal with piracy. It is just stupid.
