Are you a particular kind of player when it comes to paying for MMORPGs? Are you exclusively a F2P $ or a P2P $?
Represent!
$ is a 'Murican dollar, the unit of currency in the United States. If you don't live in the U.S., go away.
No! Just kidding. :-) Just use whatever unit of currency is appropriate for your home country. It's probably worth more than the $ anyway. :P

true, but this one is my favorite: "I don't play MMORPG and I don't know why I'm here."
"There are at least two kinds of games.
One could be called finite, the other infinite.
A finite game is played for the purpose of winning,
an infinite game for the purpose of continuing play."

Well, it's too late now. You'll just have to get over it and select "Muffins", then post in the thread.

I don't care about the barrier to entry. I'm anti-cash-shop.
edit: from experience, I just don't like them. I could go into a long analysis of personal experiences about how I came to this conclusion, but the short result (take it or leave it) is that I feel cash shops promote a fundemental conflict of interest between the consumer and publisher - instead of rewarding the publisher for fulfilling a need I had when I came to the game, they reward them for manufacturing a need I didn't have until I started to play and as the industry's tool kit of psychology and analytics improves, that's just not an arms race I want to be a part of.
That said, it seems clear that I'm on the losing side of history, so I'm expecting that I'll eventually just wander out of the hobby entirely.
I don't have a specific stance on the matter... if I enjoy a game that 's F2P, so be it. If I feel a game is worth a monthly fee, then I'll pay it. If I enjoy the game enough to utilize the cash shop, then I will.
There's too many factors that come into play, really.
Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more
Relatively Recently (Re)Played: HL2 (all), Halo (PC, all), Batman:AA; AC, ME, BS, DA, FO3, DS, Doom (all), LFD1&2, KOTOR, Portal 1&2, Blink, Elder Scrolls (all), lots more
Now Playing: None

Agreed. I guess its muffins for us.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
My ideal set up is free to start. You can play a basic game for free and then a sub to get full access to everything.
I don't like the nickel and dime side of free to play and I don't like the pay $60 for a game that you might only like for a week or two.
Hey could this be the start of an MMORPG concensus? Nah! that'll never happen. So to reiterate I play games that interest me regardless of payment model.
This doom and gloom thread was brought to you by Chin Up the new ultra high caffeine soft drink for gamers who just need that boost of happiness after a long forum session.
I really don't care what pay model the game has. If it's good I'll gladly pay for it.
Whether it is P2P, B2P, or F2P has no bearing for me, just whether the game is good enough for me to play it.
No. No reasonable and/or thoughtful answers. Just, no.

Fine, I'm leaving.
Can I still have the muffins?

I agree that the nickel and dime approach kills a lot of the feelings of getting involved in a world.. it's easier to pay a monthly sub and know that you're good for all your in game needs for that month imo. Sub based games also know they have to give everyone regular updates or they will not keep paying. This is not always the case in FTP games

Yes. Muffins are always a good answer, and they don't judge.

Make sure you opt for the bran ones, they help keep the bs to a minimum.

But :looks under counter: we're all out of 'to go' containers, sir.
Gonna have to sack that rascal up.

It's not bias. It's sarcasm, or possibly satire reflecting the general trend on this site to equate P2P with the only moral way to let developers hoover money out of your bank account.
I didn't realize that while I was typing it though, so the other options are unbiased, not sarcastic and are sans satire.
