Who cares, really, if the game does suck we will just go play something else.
So many options for MMOs now. 1-3 Triple A MMOs every year in release or in beta. FF14 has captured my interest for now. I like their class system. GW2 no monthly fee with a ok WvW keeps me in my PvP fix. I will be happy to chill till something EQ1, DAoC or WoW quality grabs me again. One is coming, we just dont know what game that will be. I kinda hope its EQN =-)
If I think there is no possible chance of me ever going back to it I will uninstall it.
I will then play what ever game I feel like playing after that, if it comes out late this year probably be finishing up one of the many Steam Games I got on sale.
Or maybe go outside, go workout, sleep depending on what time it is, watch tv, listen to music, watch twitch.tv, no idea but I know I won't care.
Nothing. Maybe not follow the game that much anymore. Maybe go have dinner, get a drink, go to work - like rational human beings. They are offering a product. It's fun to guess what may be behind door number 2, but if what you find out isn't the type of game you like - move on. That's how society works.
I don't get the posts of just wait and see all the threads of people upset. Why would anyone get upset? Game costs you nothing. Company owns IP and can do whatever they want with it. It's up to each and everyone else to decide if they are interested in what SOE is selling. Community needs to re-evaluate their coping skills.
First I'll go on the official forums and blame all the idiots who wanted an EQ clone. Then I'll probably start looking for a new game. If TESO turns out to be trash, I think I'll be waiting for Star Citizen.
Play a few games of League of Legends and rage quit. Just another normal day.

"Disappoint" front-loads the question with an expectation that does not exist.

I voted "Eat Ice Cream" . Ice Cream always helps me through my man periods and my emotional moments. There is one in particular that I really love. Tip Top's Jelly Tip. Creamy vanilla flavoured ice cream with gooey raspberry flavoured jelly and chocolate flakes tumbled through it..
Something tells me though...That when Medley and his tribe emerge from their caves and bring to the light of day the mighty EverQuest Next, we shall all be pleasantly surprised !
If this game turns out to be a flaming pile of ostrich poo, I'll sigh, then reach for the beer. If no beer is available, it's the liquor. No liquor? Screw it. Down goes the Listerine.
I'll go into MMO hibernation until World of Darkness. At some point, I decided to stop playing or caring about the slew of current and upcoming MMO games that are what I would consider "cop outs."
The vast majority of them seem to be essentially re-skinned clones slowly iterating on the same gameplay mechanics. Most of the developers that try to stick to a true vision of creativity are underfunded indie guys. Since the only two sandbox games with a big budget on the horizon that I'm aware of are EQN and WoD, those are the only two games I have any interest in at all.
I have very high hopes for EQN though. This seems to truly be the first BIG budget sandbox MMO ever made. I don't think EVE really counts because it started with a small budget initially.
Originally posted by SavageHorizon I'm an EQ vet so i will play the game no matter what but i haven't taken Smeds "sandbox" comment as literal like many on here.

Keep playing the MMO I am already playing and read the forums for entertainment...
Oddly it wasn't an option somehow..

EQN turning out bad bad will not affect my life at all...It's just a game and there's plenty of other things to do with my time.

I'll enjoy the rants on this forum about 'How it sux!!' and the ethereal pleasure the haters will have with the 'I told you so...' litany of threads.
Pretty much 'semper idem'.
EQN wouldn't dare disappoint me! =p

First I'd be all, "Aww maaaan!"
Then I'd be like, "That's coo."
