Originally posted by Tanjin I know this sounds kinda snobby but Eirek i noticed you have edited and reedited your original post stating this is what you want in your game but i notice alot are ideas people have been imputting on this topic.. when you first started this there were few ideas.. now there are several I think if your going to use peoples ideas atleast give them some thanks or credit. otherwise your just being one of those people who like to steal other peoples ideas and use them for yourself. I for one dont care if you use any ideas I might have gave. I dont have the resources to make a game and I am not a programmer but for all fairness it just seems like you seem to adapt peoples ideas on here and alter them saying yup this is what we are planning. bash me flame me whatever its just a feeling.. and i think there are several people who posted on here that deserve recognition for their great ideas.
Although folks encourage a developer to put up a website and solicit ideas, I am not so sure that's such a good idea for several reasons.
1. You can't please everyone 2. The ones you don't please will make you pay for it 3. Opening a site too early in the process only means you have to maintain interest for those folks all the way up until release 4. You receive comments like the previous poster, insinuating theft of ideas 5. There is the real possiblity that you fall into the trap of promising things that (for whatever reason) cannot be delivered.
I understand the idea of trying to get a feel for what people are looking for, but it might be a better idea to take periodic polls or surveys independent of any community website, and just get the word out about the survey on said websites (liek this one).
Only after the design doc is written, and the base for the design is solid, would a F.A.Q. be published and a forum opened to allow conversation.
OK Eirik? I just reread your edited post(the last time I read it was like a week ago when it first came up and it only had like two paragraphs lol. This game seems to have EVERYTHING. But i hate to say this but Ussually if something is too good to be true...it is... So I will not get my hopes up. But seriously, don't give up even if it gets hard!!
Ps. No one has asked this(or if someone did I missed it)
Will the game be Pay to Play, Free to play, or is it just plain undecided at the moment?

It will actually be a mix of both...for most users however it will be a p2p.
I would like to thank everyone for their input as it has helped us decide on some market aspects and ideas. For now I'll let this topic die, but along with an official announcment I will also post in here when the website is completed for everyone to take a look at.
ok, i like the idea and i'm sorry if someone posted this already but i am way way way to lazy to read through the whole forum of text cuz my eyes tend to burn after like 10 paragraphs.
Anyways let me get to the point, I think it adding the aspect of players being able to get jobs and through empty land and vacant spaces that have been deserted through extinction or destruction. That people could get jobs and people can build houses there and get new npcs to live there like rent places out so people can make money through that and eventually that little village would become a part of a game as a city and of course through your concept of mobs destroying that city would all be possible. But wouldnt it be great that guilds could make their own cities where the citizens would reconize them for their accomplishments of what they have done around the world. It would also give a guild or just random friends places to hang out.

Pre publish 16 (a patch) Ultima Online + World of Warcraft type graphics
That would be the perfect pvp mmorpg game.
