Your Burger Stand example is spot on.. Except for one thing.
If you go to the burger stand for a free sample, they give you a pretty good burger free from bacteria and food poisoning... but once you BUY it it is tainted.

Just for the topic of this thread. As we all know (even if some are in denial), server population was hit badly just prior and more so following the NGE's launch. I guess its to early to say its a trend but I did actually check reported server loads last night. This is what I saw, at about 8:30pm EST :-
1) Bria was on heavy
2) 6 others were on medium
3) The remainder were light and very light.
While this is still way less than what it was, it has improved.

Those don't give the whole picture though. Look at forum accounts online from day to day. I look to see how many are logged at 3pm central each day of the week. (that used to be prime trolling time for most...end of the work day..kids out of school...but too early to log for fear of parent or wife problems.) PreNGE, the totals were around 3K logged in and 7500 visitors. Early last week, the totals were down to an average of 900 and 2500. By the end of the week, the totals were down to 700 and 2K. What does this total tell us? If server counts are staying the same, that its not vets returning, but rather and increase in the trial accounts or new people that have not found their way to the forums yet. We know those numbers are increaing, but not nearly at the rate of those leaving. I should also point out that the sever loads you are showing are the same as those reported last week as well. On a weekend though.....there should be a couple more heavies, no very lights and mostly mediums (as it was PreNGE)
No, agreed its not the whole picture. Although it was still a lot better than last time I checked. Maybe a slight improvement overall or a growing trend, but at least its still something. Will be interesting to see in which direction it ultimatly goes.
The shame is that they took a fantastic, ready-made lore and produced a sub-par game because, "Hey, if we just stick 'Star Wars' on it, they'll buy it!"

I like the new changes. I tried the original version and thought the system was very boring, but the new changes while making it a totally different game add a level of excitment that was needed.

You wouldn't know as you weren't playing up to the NGE, but the excitement was already there. I'm glad you are enjoying it though. Its good to know the game was gutted and lost soo many players so that a few could now enjoy the star warsyness in an Alpha Medic class (Iconic character is a droid btw)and Jedi PVPing with rifles.

When I played 2 years ago my guild of over 40 folks (all real life gamiing friends that have been involved in many mmogs) who once had a large player city all quickly tired of the game and moved on after only a few months. I've been back with a new account now for the last 3 weeks and I love it (40 Jedi now). Big publish coming tomorrow (Dec 13th) as SOE continues to work on the game (all condemned harvesters will go bye bye tomorrow is something I'm looking forward too) and soon we will be allowed a second character on each server so there will be no need for multiple accounts to get ahead in the game. Try it yourself and don't take anyone's word for it and try to ignore the current anti-swg campaign being waged by a vocal minority who hope to bring a stop to the game as some sort of retribution.

The harvy fix isn't an NGE fix. The new publish is not for the NGE as its an issue tha they should have addressed a year ago and never bothered to get around to. Naturally..even as the NGE is in its present condition..they have devs off fixing harvies instead of the GUI so that some of us could play and see just how good or bad the game is. Even now, they don't focus on the real issues.
Ohh and that harvy fix? It a traders nerf. The economy is already in the tank....just wait till resource prices double..not that it matters really...who buys guns and armor anymore? Its all lootable/quest rewards in some fashion or another anymore.

If your done then go stop replying, say bye, cya and stuff ,if its the great game you and the minority of others are telling us then why arent you playing it now or posting on the SWG forums? Why come here and try and hump peoples legs to get them to go away? Trying to tell them to shut up and go away just shows that you want your opinion validated over any other. I have offered nothing but an educated opinion of my view resulting from the experience I have had from playing the game and being a customer of an SOE product, after all thats what forums like this were formed for, good and bad reports and information in a social structure.
And there are many more ways to look at it why limit yourself to 2???
A. You can notice the writing on the wall, look at the reviews, read what people are saying about it that have a great deal of experience as well as the noobs and then compare it to other MMOs. B. Blindly buy it and play it since your that big of a SW fan before finding out how much it really sucks with all its bugs and broken items/quests/abilities/etc..

Really...you would do well to take a lesson from "people who know". They claimed they were going to do a character purge..they then called it a structure purge and focused on housing...it even went to TC (nothing about harvies hit TC before the NGE). They have never claimed to plan on doing a harvy purge till last week. They may have thought about it, but don't act like it has been sitting on a back burner and they have moved it up. All they did was scrape some of the gunk off the structure pot and call it a new dish. Furthermore, the 2nd part of the harvy fix, the admin list adjustment was never apart of the structure purge, nor has it even been seriously mentioned by anyone up till now. SO again...as I said..its a new fix they point to to say they are working on the NGE when in reality...its nothing to do with the NGE. Its just their way of doing the structure purge half way...half way...kinda rings a bell doesn't it? Like everything else they do?

Your Burger Stand example is spot on.. Except for one thing.
If you go to the burger stand for a free sample, they give you a pretty good burger free from bacteria and food poisoning... but once you BUY it it is tainted.
So new customers say, "The sample is good, I'm gonna buy it".. but by then it is too late.

Just for the topic of this thread. As we all know (even if some are in denial), server population was hit badly just prior and more so following the NGE's launch. I guess its to early to say its a trend but I did actually check reported server loads last night. This is what I saw, at about 8:30pm EST :-
1) Bria was on heavy
2) 6 others were on medium
3) The remainder were light and very light.
While this is still way less than what it was, it has improved.
No, agreed its not the whole picture. Although it was still a lot better than last time I checked. Maybe a slight improvement overall or a growing trend, but at least its still something. Will be interesting to see in which direction it ultimatly goes.

I like the new changes. I tried the original version and thought the system was very boring, but the new changes while making it a totally different game add a level of excitment that was needed.
