I totally agree, I played FFXI for years! However, after playing the ESO beta I know I'll be playing that instead. It's just more my style with the action combat and open world. That being said I still think FFXIV ARR is one of the best traditional tab targeting MMO's out there. Who knows, when they release my beloved DRK I might stick with FFXIV ARR ;)

You are right. it doesnt matter because in the end the Earth will end up a dead hunk of rock flying through space and everything and everyone will be dead and forgotten. This video game isnt important, love your family and find happiness while your pathetic brains are still functioning.

I see this game different from most people. What I see is a foundation that will be built upon. Of course everything is not here but what is here is beautiful and a breath of fresh air. I feel adventure again and I have not felt that in years. Cant wait to see how they continue to develop the game.

While I'm sure what you say is true I think they still care about money :P.  It just so happens the best way to get money in this industry is make great games (who would have guessed with the mmo market).

Of course they care about money but what I am saying is that its not their #1 priority.

Wrong, because it is. It's #1 priority for any company out there.

    This.

Every company is in it for money. I don't know what uptopia people live in where money isn't number one priority for companies.

Totally disagree, if this was true every mmo would be free to play with a pay to win cash shop.

So now in order to be greedy one has to make a F2P MMO? even though F2P MMOS have existed for as long as P2P MMOS have existed. No one used the word 'greedy' back then exclusively for F2P MMOS. Sorry but i disagree with your statement.

Money is priority for every company because that is what pay the bills.

While I agree that $ is paramount, it isn't the #1 priority to all companys. Some companies decide to go under rather than take out thier losses on customers and employes. It shows a certain amount of 'class' for lack of a better word.

I work at a company that values its employees more than a $1. We make what $ we can w/in reason. We could make more... but at what cost? I have to admit though, some times we do take our customers a little too lightly.

Of course they want to make money, and trust that the bottom line is the priority for all "for profit" businesses, for without it, there would be no business.  They're just wise enough to realize that if you release a product worth paying for, and you take care of your customer base, the money will come.  Business 101.

Except that PS3 sales have been pretty low so far.

um ... might you think that the fact that they stopped sales might have something to do with that?

I am 34 years old but thanks for assuming. Being greedy and giving money priority are not mutually exclusive. A company who values its employees more still have to pay them salaries on monthly basis. That is how real world works.

Being greedy and giving money priority are not mutually inclusive either. Furthermore you can prioritize something without making it your first priority.

What if I told you ... you have to play the game right before you can get lasting enjoyment out of it?  Rushing to end game and doing nothing but a one class story line and power leveling mobs is, at most, 20% of the game.  Of course, you are entitled to play the game any way you like, but don't complain when you have nothing to do after one week.

Just with the amount of attention it has gathered this year has blown me away. From playing one of the first closed betas to the actual release it has already matured and grown into on my favorite MMOs to date. Huge success, WoW level or not I still like it and I believe it is heading the right direction by putting the RPG back in MMORPG.

This game is already a HUGE success. One of THE most popular games of the last 10 years!

    With me....

They never stopped PS3 sales because none of the initial stock sold much - every GameStop has more than 30 PS3 copies sitting collecting dust - same from launch.

    They only stopped PC sales.

Two weeks after release, I see that as a good thing.  At this point the argument can be easily made that PS3 sales are an "un-tapped" market, and yet servers are full and they've stopped PC sales.  In other words, if you are to be believed, FF:ARR is doing amazingly well despite the lack of PS3 sales.  And the lack of PS3 game sales at this point can be easily remedied with a bit of advertising and word of mouth.  Of course, as I have previously mentioned, this can be a blessing and a curse.  A large player base brings challenges to a community.  Nothing against the good folks over at WOW, but that player base is the pits.  I'd rather have 20%  of the size of that player base and have a good community, than 100% of it, and have to deal with that mess.  Truth be told, all I need is the 7000 plus on my server.  Love the good folks on every other FF:ARR server but, for all intents and purposes, they are dead to me.  Their impact on me personally is actually quite negligible, by design.
