Im speaking for me when i text this.
The main reason i think people dont try this is cuse the horror scenario when FFXIV V1.0 failed, but I choosed not to play that game for 1 reason actully. It looked slow and dull! But im use to more action MMO's, And trust me Iv'e played them all...
Maybe other people did think the same way I did, maybe not. Please tell me what your opinion was..
Allthough MY real poll was about A realm reborn so just stick to that.
What do you love about it compared to other games? And v 1.0..
It's cheap prize in store for all platforms is awsome and gets my interests up, but also, why the lower prize than other newly released mmos?
Ty all and please tell me why I and other hesitating players should try this out!

I'm not playing FFARR, but I will say that since you've either waited or been unable to purchase up to this point, you wait another 1-2 weeks.
It's coming up on the 1 month mark which means many of the launch players will have hit cap and then honeymoon is over and you'll have a lot more feedback to help you decide.
3 months might be too long to wait for most, but if a game is going strong at the 3 month mark (and not "strong" in the eyes of fanboys, but actually doing really well) then it's a safe bet.
That's less about FFARR and more about MMO's in general.
I'd wait on this one.
There are still locked servers, no AFK timers, etc.
Because of these problems, this MMO is going to sort of have a fairly large number that will have burned through content and left before most of the population has even had a chance to play the game, so worrying over if there will be that "launch population" is sort of a mute point.
At the rate they have been doing things, I'd hope that around December might be around the time to check it out, but at this point who knows.
Definitely wait though.
Don't try the game now, way too many problems at the moment and customer support is non-existant, so if you get any trouble you're done.
Also, if you're any kind of powergamer, it's pretty much too late to join in. Due to the multiple maintenances, some people have acquired so many tomes of myth (similar to valor points... 300 per week max) that they have around 2 months worth of currencies more than new players.
Umm not sure what problems you are having but the game itself is problem free.
Its certainly not too late to play either..that comment doesn't even make sense...
I'll probably keep playing through the free month, and then wait until the PS4 launch as I'll get that version for free.
Give the game some time to grow/mature and see if ARR can become my new home.
It's amazing game, No problem at server where I was (Excalibur, Moogle) Easy login and Play :-)
Well It no matter to comparison from 1.0 to 2.0
First 1.0 is high power of graphic, texture awesome but AWFUL Map design, not sound right with other side on grinds.
Second 2.0 degrade the graphic to fit in for our society affordable with graphic card, but will bring more better with direct X 11 in next patch. They are evaluation our percent of what video card user had. Lot fun with FATEs, Guildhest, Quest Leves, much mores, I grateful for Yoshida rescue the mess from 1.0.
Yoshida said the game just everything are fix with 30% out of 100%
What he meant?
PvP not yet implement
Mist (Housing) not yet implement
Classes/Job (Ninja, Thief, Samurai, Red Mage, Corsair, Blue Mage, and other few more)
Newest more Primal
I'm not sure what else, if you know please tell :-)
I'm playing it at the moment and enjoying the game so far. Without any expectations, the game came to be a pleasant surprise.
That said, I recommend you to wait a while and gather more feedback in the weeks to come.
Personally, I pre-ordered the game after trying the Open Beta and trying out the various mechanics of the game. I had the benefit of trying it first hand and based my decision solely on that.
The official technical support forums would disagree with you...
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/forums/627-Technical-Support
But please continue telling white lies.
It doesn't sound like you're much in a hurry so
1) wait until the honeymoon period is over and see what folks have got to say about the game as a whole. Ignore the fanboys and people who blast the game after playing the game for a few levels only (or heck 10 minutes...for reals).
2) wait for a trial.
3) try and get a 1.0 copy cheap cheap from ebay or something after a few weeks. (I still have two copies).
4) I dunno what else. It's your time and money anyways.
Well for starters, this is not an action mmo, so you may not like the combat since it is a lot slower.
The game is designed around heavy crafting and leveling up multiple classes. There is a dungeon and raid system in place with gear rewards and trinity style mechanics. The game is cheaper than a typical new game because it is a relunch
Checked it out. Ok seems theres a few PS3 issues, the rest of the tech support posts are about people who applied codes to the wrong SE account and lost game time, people who had their account hacked, or people reporting login issues during server maintenance.
Try reading some of those tech support threads rather than assuming the game is a buggy mess to push whatever you are trying to push here.
Also the people that seem to have issues are not many...theres no massive threads full of people with issues.
No crash issues, no getting stuck in the world, no quest bugs, no bugged items...really nothing involving the word bug appears.
Again, read those tech support threads instead of tossing the link and hoping it proves you right.
In fact reading that tech forums certainly doesn't prove your point...at all...
Ty for the answer me my questions. Well first off all, Ive noticed they recalled alot of copies all around the world, went down to the closest store just to hear what he had to say about it. And they thought they wont get any copies soon cuse of this server issue. Also they have cancelled the digital purchase , and that is ofcourse for a reason aswell. They will fix this as fast as they can. Im pretty sure about it.. Allthough the gamestore management said that the people who cannot enter the game as it is for a huge amount of people, will get game-time for free aparantly. so thats aleast good.
I will wait for this game a while. But like I read someone said, You should not have to wait for the game to be restored after launch just to have a chance to play this game in is fullyness.... It's quite dull every company suffers a big launch problem...
If I have to wait after launch or before launch isn't any problem. Just make fully playable game (And I know the server issue is Inevitable) But wont any company learn? ....

Eh .. I'm playing on one of the most populated servers (Balmung) and not having any problems after they upgraded the data center. I've seen single-digit queues in the worst case.
The main issue at this point is gilspammers, but I'm expecting the hammer to come down hard on that soon.
There are some relatively minor UI issues that I've encountered after playing for awhile. I expect like any game these things will be fixed over time. Otherwise the game rocks. I had serious concerns about the easy-mode single-player feel the game had, but I'm much happier after doing some dungeons and the first boss (which are literally required to progress the story and get even simple things like retainers, i.e. market and bank access, and your chocobo).
Come play. Unless you want to avoid addiction.
Nice strawman there. No where i said even once that it is a buggy mess. But your statement was it is 'problem free' which is a very general and vague statement giving impression that games has no issue at all which is a complete and utter lie.
Also tech support forums move very fast. Just in day two to three pages worth of problems are posted there. You just convienently glanced on first page and cherry picked the issues which support your earlier imaginary scenario that 'game is problem free'. I didn't know that 'bugs' are the only things which come under 'problems'.
The game doesn't even support something as basic as 'overflow inventory' and simply deletes your loot. There i mentioned one of the many problems.
Sorry but no one is buying your 'it is problems free' lies.
The game is awesome. I would purchase once it's available again. There is no real reason to wait.
hi man, i tried this game went till level 20 i tried out dungeon and some events and it was the most boring mmo I ever played.
The pixels are great but enemy's are boring and fight is repetitive , I don't see any reasons to play this game.
But don't lissen to me because I also didn't enjoy gw2 , last game i really enjoyed was Darkfall2 .
I might be burned out but I don't see any good mmos on the market right now
Game itself is problem free. Anyone who plays knows this. Don't mislead people into thinking there are tons of problems with the game, since the only issue was the first week logging in.
Im not sure why you are trying to mislead people into thinking that the game has so many issues...not sure what the motive is on that one.
Those who do play all say the game is extremely polished though.
Your gripes, like the inventory overflow, are gripes that arise from simply not knowing the game mechanics. You get two retainers with 175 slots of storage each...there is no reason anyone should have overflowing inventories. Since that's the only issue you can think of, and its not even an issue once you learn the game, your argument seem to be with me personally.
If anything, you should argue that support and the support forums are slow, since that is the main issue people have (when they do have a legit issue) Yoshi already addressed his lack of satisfaction with the NA/EU support so expect changes.
Also, you don't speak for everyone, I can just as easily say no is buying your lies that the game is loaded with issues.
Just don't mislead people, no one here cares that you might not like the game, that's fine, and I get that because you seem to go on the offensive when anyone posts something really positive. Again don't know your motives here, but leave me out of them please.
I went to Eb games yesterday and they opened up there delivery box while I was there and there was 1 copy of A Realm Reborn for PC inside...so I picked up the game
I am Very happy about my purchase The game runs super smooooth and I love the Character Models in game
I am only level 10 right now but the game is really fun so far.....Much more fun then Guild wars 2 so far and I don't know why
maybe its because of all the final Fantasy memories playing FF 1 - 7 when I was young
Square didn't recall any copies of the game, all company did was suspend digital sales until the server issues were addressed. After tonight's maintenance, digital sales will resume tomorrow (9/12).

Not sure where anyone is getting the game is buggy. Honestly the game nearly is bug free unless Behemoth or Odin pops and you have litteraly thousands of people running to 1 area of 1 zone. Then yea thing freeze up, server just cannot handle that load.
Server log-in issues that were caused by over population are also gone, that was fixed last week. Have not had any long ques or errors while logging in. Still get ques, but I get in fairly fast.
This game is one of the most polished launches of any mmo to date if you ignore the lobby/dungeon finder servers getting overwhelmed. Once you were in game even at launch, everything ran perfectly with little lag even in the most populated areas.
To the OP:
My best advice is ingore 1.0 because the only thing the two share are the Final Fantasy XIV in the title and character/mob models. LItteraly every other aspect of the game has changed, and not a little alot. Compairing XIV 1.0 to XIV ARR is like compairing Orriginal everquest to WoW:Wrath of the Leachking, the games are that different.
Whether or not you like it depends on several things.
If you hate traditional mmos, DO NOT PLAY THIS. it is about as far from an action mmo as you can get. The battle system is slightly slower then WoWs. Outside the slightly slower battle system, the rest of it is the same as WoW's battle system. Same UI, Same feel. Personally the slower does not bother me, because with the positional elements and such, you physically could not do anything faster then the 2.0 sec cooldown at mid/late game.
If you hate Final Fantasy, DO not play this... it is heavy heavy Final Fantasy. This can be a pro or a con depending on if you hate the series or not.
As others said it is cheaper because it is a re-release. The price does not reflect the quality of the product at all. It has more content then most mmos have after a year-year and half of service. Sorta a 180 from version 1.
My advice is to look at youtube videos of game play at different levels of gameplay. What you see at level 1-20 is very different then 50. In terms of combat speed, difficulty, and involvement.
This game will not be for everyone, you will Love it or you will Hate it. This has nothing new, if you are bored of WoW syle mmos do not play this. If you like them... well this is one of the most polished ones out there. (less the server issues being caused by too many people playing the game)
