Originally posted by sebpark The thing i don't get is, why are these posts always in the Guild Wars section, and never in the WoW section Anyway, Guild wars is all about endgame, they really don't care for the other levels. World of Warcraft takes much much longer to get to the end game, so has a better mid game play.
if you focus on level cap i agree with you , but if you focus on unlocking skills ...
yeah, i have noticed that these kind of posts are only in the Guild Wars section.....they're racist!!! i mean...game.....ist.......yeah! Gamist!....lol
My personal experience with GW is that it has some high quality PVP in it, the PvE is not too bad, but it can (and it will) bore you in a while. If you like PvE above PvP, try another MMO.
I have heard many complains about the endgame content of WoW, I have had no problems with that since my highest lvl char is only 40. The graphics of WoW are nothing compared to those of GW, but it's cartoony style makes me feel happy.
Try GW first, if it's not of your liking, try another MMO, only try WoW if you are desperate to find an addicting game that will keep you behind your P.C for quite a long time.
(I have played GW AND WoW and found out that the last named MMO was more of my liking)
one thing if ur willing to pay £15-£20 a month for a rubbish game then WoW but if u wanna pay £30 once for an amazing game then guild wars ive played WoW an it's not worth the monthly fee but build wars on the other is definately worth payin that one off fee kuz it jus kicks all other game's a***s so definately get guild wars
HAHAHA you are in the Guild Wars forum what do you expect the people to answer?

I am new here so I will my two pennys worth in *spoiler: long rant ahead*
Guid Wars rocks coz there is no monthly fee. There is a great story to it and does not requier much thought to it. plenty of missions for you to do. A nice map that is not a hand full to get around (love the map hopping abbility. whish they had it in wow). Plus there is plenty of room for development of the current game with lots of big live updates (expansion is coming out soon). Plus i love playing pvp as it gives a hell of alot more of a challenge. Also you not getting mugged by every high level twit that wants a easy kill coz all pvp chars are the same level.
WOW is just as good in it's own rights. If you are not bothered about paying that monthly fee then it's great. Obviously there will be more smaller updates than say Guild Wars. There are more classes and races and obviously the game is gonna be bigger (but this is not always a good thing). There are tons morre players than say guild wars due to there been loads more servers. Pvp is a biggy coz there are rewards for doing pvp.
so here we go into my rant. I have played both and i must say that guild wars thrashes wow on so many levels for me. First off the pvp system is confined to arenas and so there is no needles killing around the actual game world. I plyed n a server on wow and withing an hour I was killed atleast 12 times by different high level people also in guild wars the pvp is more about skill than about who has got the better spell sets ect ect.
I liked wow for a bit coz it seemed a very good game but I was not overly keen on the whole paying a steep fee every month for playing it. Now I used to play anarchy online and you paid a fee for that but wow is sooo much more expensive. guild wars is better coz there is no monthly fees. downside ofcourse is updates don't come as fast and there are limitations on the amount of characters you can have.
the world in wow is amazing and detailed. I like the way you can walk around with very little in the way of load times. guild wars world is zoned and you have to wait for areas to load. Not a problem i it doesn't bother you. But if your are converting from wow to guild wars you may find it annoying at first. Similarly converting from guild wars to wow you will love the no load time but hate not having the abillity to jump from town to town. Also with Guild wars you use your own personal copy of the game world when you are exploring. This is very handy because it's reducing server load and also there is less lagging.
The community on wow is huge. there are forums and extensive chat rooms. the community on guild wars is smaller but more tigh knit. There are not any forums on the main site but plenty around on the net, this is due to not paying a monthly fee which usually goes towards maintaining these things. Also there seems to be a lot more normal conversations on guild wars than on wow. This is my own opinion ofcourse.
The skills on guild wars are smaller in number than wow but rely more on skill on using them rather than having to constantly find better upgrades to them. although people would argue that the skill system in wow is better than guild wars for that exact reason.
so all in all they are both really good games. BUT GUILD WARS OWNS WOW IN SOOOOOO MANY MORE WAYS
Guild Wars wins Best Game World, chosen by the gamers with 37% of the vote. I a bit fascinated by it, given that I didn㦙 realize quite how popular Guild Wars is. I really thought World of Warcraft would have won. I guess the team behind Guild Wars knows how to put a game together.
I tried WoW... thanks but no thx there and "free play" is great but it's not enough to pull me into guildwars... I think I'll hold out for something better at a later time.
OK I DUN GET THIS GAME OR AT LEAST THE REMARKS IT GETS sum say it an awsome game and then they say its horrible after sayn that its good :? this is confusing
i hear thats it more gay than good and shouldnt be played, yet the game rating is so high (2nd for everything on every site!)

i never pvp at all hardly love the game play rvery day the camping is good and going though it with each type of character is fun and different cause your going about it a different way like as adjusting from bows to swords or from staffs and wands to bows and such as from traps to adrenline and such thats how you never pvp cause you always have something to do on one of the characters but if you dont like going though with the different classes youll get about 120hours of story
Guild wars for sure because WOW is too expensive. we don t stay and play all day. we play an average of 4 to 6 hours a day(and that is a lot if you really play this time). its money thrown out in the trash. my opinion dought

same here dude, its basicly very simple to do that i like playig in party against the enemy creatures but i just don't like the pvp that mutch so i never play pvp or just occasionally a gvg but nothing professinal, just noob guild vs noob guild i just like exploring the world killing the monsters rather than pvp. in pvp you have to focus, think what you do, count your spells, act according to plans, ... in pve just run out of the city & start bashing, or just take it slow, you are more free in pve.
Originally posted by XxPhantomxX as much as i love GW, id have to say WoW, becuase Guild Wars gets really repetative... but guild Wars is still really really good for a f2p
you are right & wrong at the same time in my opinion gw is defenatly not repetitive, i've played it with 4 characters up till now didn't do any pvp yet (just 2 guild vs guild battles in the factionboost wweekend) never been to the end of the storyline with none of the 4 characters never been in sorrows furnace (new area in the august or september update) ... so i still have a lot to do, even when i play since the first day the game came out till now have about 350 hours of playing now on all characters together. (i do admit that i take things slowly, & wait for frieds a lot, so in that case yes i did do some things more than once which you might see as getting repititive, also i did the same story line until ascention with all 4 characters, if thats what you mean by "repetitive", then you are right about that too but it does not feel as repeating the same all over to me (yet))
i found this thread from gwguru very usefull for people that dont know about guildwars , it shows very well how diferent this game can be from people to people.
