I played the game for maybe 2 months or so and i was having fun. But when i got on the only thing i could do was grind because i was so low. I know thats pretty much what you are suppose to do at lower levels but is there anything else to do? Also i felt the lack of players around to group with. Most of the time i soloed which is good because i love to solo. But once in a while i would of liked to grouped with a person or 2. If i did get a group it was ussualy with only one other person and we would just grind together. It might of been the server I was on was not populated enough
Now i like the idea of the PvP system. It looked awesome! but the thing is it wasnt enough modivation to make me wana grind until i hit a higher level.(i got to about lvl 20)
Another thing. What is the endgame like? i hear alot of people saying when they hit 60 they just get bored because they have nothing to do. Is this true?
I am currently playing DAOC and have a couple 50s(max lvl) and think about trying WoW again. You think I should?
P.S. I dont like the graphics of WoW but there is nothing i can do about that. I think i can manage without better graphic though

I dont understand how you could be so low level after playing for 2 months. Another thing .....no people? Like the above guy said...was that your first mmorpg?
Anyway...there is over 5 million paying customers now. There is plenty to do and plenty to do at 60. If you are not part of a decent guild though....you may miss out on end game.
What is unique about wow you ask? For only being out 1 year.....it is relatively one of the most exploit and bug free games I have ever played. Sure there are game out there with more depth....SWG ,open pvp--lineage 2...........and both were exploit and bug ridden games during the same time frame. Hell, SWG may still be....but I cant vouch for that as I dont play anymore.
...so the game is fun......but find yourself a good guild so you have folks to do things with.

i 100% agree with this poster i have played a few mmo's myslef Earth and Beyond (as far as i remember that was exploit free and had little if no bugs), EVE online (one of the worst greifing games out there), World of Warcraft (some greifing no where near as bad as eve and next to no bugs and exploits), Everquest 2 (not sure about exploits but there was a crap load of bugs lol soe devs cant test and its proven when they release a patch that causes the client to crash on startup come on how hard is it to startup a patched client to see if it would crash oh ya and alot of idiots who think they knwo the game very well but dont ended up causing alot of un needed nerfs not to mention the massive lag in cities), and last but not least Final Fantasy XI (as long as i played it for about 5 months i have yet to find a single bug/exploit in game)

i got to be honest with the leveling diffucuilty your having you should do as many quests as you can to get gooe exp/cash and the occasional good item.

Yah..I am flaming WoW because I hate this game with a vengance. I played the game for as long as you did (2 months) except I got to level 40. This is a noob mmo. Where did the 5 million subscribers come from and why? Let me name the reasons this game sucks. (1. The PvP is a frustrating gank fest (if you're on horde) and it's MUCH to easy on alliance because they out number horde by a huge amount. Also...who ever heard of the same classes vrs. the same classes fighting eachother? It's not very fun being able to recognize your "enemies" moves and use them against him yourself. (2. No CC at all....everyone looks exactly the same...which leads me into my next gripe with this game..(3. Nobody has variation in their moves...so if you see someone the same class as you..thats basically the same person as you..only maybe different race. hair, or eyes::::06::. (4. Be quiet..this game is a total grind fest...there is no other way to make (sensible) exp besides instances, quests (kill so and so x amount of times) or just plain finding a spot and killing everything there. Plus at level 60 all you do is do the same instance over..and over...and over again to get a weapon that a hunter will probly ninja anyways::::35::. (5. Community..ugh. Let me give you guys an example of my character Sabotage..when I played this game. Okay, one day I got fed up with the retarded noobs or people who talk with missing vowels (ae, U or R) in my guild..so I quit. The next day I have a thousand people sending me hatemail about how I made fun of somebody in the guilds dead sister...WTH!!? (feel free to look up Sabotage on the Uldum forums) So I had to basically add 20 names to my ignore list..and to top it off people even cussed me out in general chat. Oh yea, and the alliance camped WSG on a regular basis...majorly frustrating. ::::26::
So..basically thats the reason I hated WoW.

    1)  A casual player who solos will level at a far slower rate than a hardcore player in an active guild, so take it easy with the mmo noob stuff, kiddo.

    2)  If you pick a server with a low population, or one whose population is for the most part in a much different timezone... it can seem an awful lot as if there's not many playing.

    3)  Not everyone comes into the game with an instruction manual on how to burn the xp.  If someone started WoW without having had friends who played and didn't know the best fansites (like, thotbot and allakhazam) their levelling speed would most likely be pretty slow.

As for what's so good about WoW?  Well, it WORKS.  That's more than a lot of the mmos out now can say.  And it's a great way to burn a few hours a week.  PvP?  Honey, don'r wait till endgame to go thrash some butt.  Go to a battleground and have some fun.  Seriously.  It's PvP heaven, even if you're under level 20.

If you post on a WoW board and ask "what class is best in pvp" you will get 9 answers, all sure they are correct. In the end, it is this balance I enjoy the most.

Yes, PvP is so balanced in WoW. That's probably why, when you go to the BG's, you nearly only see mages/paladins on Alliance side and mages/SHamans on horde side...At least on the server where I played.

As for the OP's question, here's my personal view on this:

    PRO'S of the game:

    - PvE is fun. You can quest through it or Grind through it, whatever you prefer. I for example, used a mix of the two.

    - There are so many quests, that you can level 5 different characters and still find new quests (at least, that's how it feels)

    - Blizzard regularly adds a lot of new content

    Contra's:

    - PvP is so bad that they shouldn't even have bothered inserting it in the first place.

    - No original stuff whatsoever. Every single thing in the game is something that has been copied from another game.

    - (this one is my personal view only) the Walt Disney style graphics are ugly.

    - The community is rather childish.

So how can I recap all this?

In my personal view, WoW is a decent game, nothing more. It's a good intro to MMORPGS, though.

It's also good as a game for casual playing.

My advice to the OP is: try it again once. It is fun, even though it's not the best game around

Glad to see you didn't stay then, considering you hate the game so much you had to post on a WoW forum about it.

On a slightly dfferent note - whats the Roleplay like in WoW? Anyone have any first hand experience of a Roleplay server, or more specifically a PVP-Roleplay server? That's the type im most interested in.

I don't do a RP-PvP myself but I do play on an RP server. For the most part it's pretty much like the regular ones except the guild that recruit are very into the RP aspect of the game. I also note that the general chat speech is laced with lots of "thee" and "dinna" and such, which to me is a hoot. In the few PvP encounters I have had on that server (in which I was owned most expeditiously), I did see a lot of "so and so bows" and "so and so taunts so and so" in a more RP fashion than the crap I usually see in PvP scenarios, which is typically abusive language, laughing at a corpse, ganking, that kinda crap.

I played on a (Euro) RP server, and found the lack of RP quite annoying. About 50% of the population didn't even know what RP was. I actually left /general because of the constant "what is RP" question and the flaming that ensued between RP-ers and non-RP'ers :p

WoW is a bait and switch really the title has warcraft in the name & a poor escuse for PvP. You can kill the other faction, but why bother? You don't get a **** thing not even 1 item from the corpse, & raiding is just the pointless PvP on a larger scale. Want to make a horde town aliance, you can't. If you get any of the past warcraft games & play for 30 minutes, you will see my point.
