Well if you take something like call of duty as the type of game you describe as a "graphic novel", planetside 2 is about as opposite to that as you can get while still being a fps.
I am not so sure SOE thinks it makes any mistakes.I know for fact they are the absolute worst for rushing out products full of bugs and are VERY slow to fix them if ever.A perfect example is MTGtactics,i still see some of the same bugs when the game was released about 2 years ago.The game concept is a great one if some effort is put into it but they simply have no confidence in themselves so seem to have abandoned the game completely.
This really gives a good indication of SOE.We saw how Square Enix never gave up,they revamped the efforts and game to make it viable,SOE would simply abandon the game. That means they do NOT listen to feedback, they simply want to release THEIR idea as is,if they make a ton of money, they keep rolling with it,if not, ignore it completely.
I still remember a glaring map glitch at the bottom of Nmars decent that remained for several years and never got fixed. The effort to fix that glitch would have taken all of 1 hour for one person,so it really shows how little they care about quality assurance.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
Originally posted by flizzer The game is called Everquest Next. The previous games called Everquest seemed to do well. On this site many people claim Everquest was their favorite game of all time. I'm not sure how this is a mistake.
Well EQ2 is one of my favorite games of all time and you would have to be blind to not have seen MANY mistakes when the game was released. Many of those mistakes remained for quite some time after, example mobs loading under the world, glitching through walls, mobs not drawing properly on screen, the skeleton mobs were some of the more obvious examples.
There is a reason why Vanguard had so many bugs,Brad was one of THE main guys on the Everquest series and copied the same techniques he used when with SOE.
Point is you can still love a game even though it has a lot of mistakes in it.Geesh my fave game of all time is FFXI and it has a lot of mistakes as well, most of us realize you are never going to see perfection,so some mistakes are acceptable.

so do tell what is so diferent on call of duty for the last decade? other then graphics that is
After subscribing for 8 Years of playing SWG accumulating virtual wealth and many friendships and then having SOE pull the plug without any sort of reward or backup of your personal data maybe to plug it in a private server I will never give any more money to SOE why would you invested money and time in something that SOE will steal everything you achieved.
Have a nice life then. I doubt your protest will effect SOE in any way. Oh btw you do realize the ip owners told sony to pull the plug right. You might as well go scream at the mouse
I managed to leave SWG after they added zombies in the game right before the SOE hack, Thank god the IP owners pull the plug from SWG it should be named only galaxies because everything about star wars was just superficial it didn't feel like star wars to me 8 years later and not even a small potential of the game was ever achieved it had worst potential than what it had when it launched in terms of gameplay mechanics.
I was happy when SWG died and ROFL when they ask to pay for the last month to say goodbye to the game XD

The latest one has a dog. A DOG!
To be fair though what has Battlefield or CS really done too? The FPS genre hasn't really evolved much past DOOM other than in graphical quality.
