No, it would be more like Starcraft Ghost or that Warcraft adventure game which was killed out-right.
I think Blizz is great in finding gaming trend (or creating them), and don't bet on losing propositions. Every game they have done since the first warcraft is a financial hit, whether you like it or not.
it probably is that they too were creating a WOW clone, with a different background. They then saw the demand for a sandbox, so they are waiting to see how EQN is then they will copy it and improve it just like WOW vs EQ
Titan reeks of more vaporz than Duke Nukem's drawers.
It will be released alongside in Vaporstan sometime around the same time as the Alpha Protocol sequel.

My bet is that Blizz figure out traditional MMORPG has passed its time, and want to do something newer like a MOBA, or a card game.
They are already building that MOBA, been in the works for years.
But WoW is their flagship, and where most will remain, even if Titan is released.
It's stable. It's home.
1) yeah, i know they are doing a MOBA .. it is almost time for beta.
2) WOW is their flagship today, but if this MOBA, or even the card game is making more money (note that wow is still declining), then the flagship will change.
3) "It's stable" .. not really .. sub is declining, right?

Or may be they are abandoning MMORPGs. Given how successful LoL is, it makes more sense to go after a MOBA, as Blizz is doing now.

They got wind of what EQN is doing and decided to go back to the drawing board.
Seriously though, I think Voxels might be a big reason for them restarting.
This ^. I think Titan was to similar to WoW and when SOE started to talk about EQN will be the largest sandbox MMO in the world, they saw that EQN will look much more interresting than Titan will and they decided to redo the whole thing. If it were just smaller changes it wouldn't take them another 3+ year. It looks they need to redo the whole thing more or less. Maybe the graphic looked dated too who knows. This is what I think at least.
However I am not that interrested at EQN, as I am more of an old school fellow and have pledged to "Pantheon Rise of the Fallen" which is designed by Brad McQuaid. The one who did EQ in first place. EQN is not EQ3 as I see it. Pantheon definitely is EQ3. I like the races and classes revealed so far. The only one I miss is the necromancer class.

It's something else, but not another WoW. Some claim it's a steam punk MMO, as an artist hired had a portfolio of such artwork. If folks think about it, that would fit in with Blizzard's art theme and game genre (and since they have their MOBA game being developed to eliminate that idea).

What I mean with similar is more about how the zones are built up and quest hubs. Things we already have in so many games.
Blizz just did what they do with ALL their titles, scrapped a years or work and started again from scratch. Business as usual for Blizzard. We should know more next year.

Huh? That makes no sense, they are abandoning MMORPGs, because the MMORPG LoL is successful? You fought hard for it, now your abandoning it?

After the push back during Cata, don't think the quest system used will happen again. They'll have to rethink the quest system as players from all stripes complained about it (not just the forum loudest). Much like the dailies players were outraged over. Titan would have to redefine all of that, because of this simple question: why leave WoW to play it?
WoW is a boom and bane for Blizzard. But in the end if they want to start another MMO it'll be compared to WoW, and it took WoW 10 years to get this far with not only content, bug fixes. Sometimes being the best has burdens, like reproducing the WoW popularity again.

Titan is suppose to be one of those once in 10 years games, not just another cash grab.
Unfortunately, it's going to be 20 years before we can play it!

If someone can afford such a long wait, then it's Blizzard
I am not a butterfly. I can tell the difference between a real home (which i live in) and a video game.
Doesn't matter, they'll accept you, right?

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
Still, you will be surprised how many people plunge their money into this game to get better decks.
"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
Blizzard probably thought to themselves:
"We're already the king of MMOs, why take a chance and muck things up with an MMO that may not have the same level of success?"
Huh? That makes no sense, they are abandoning MMORPGs, because the MMORPG LoL is successful? You fought hard for it, now your abandoning it?

The biggest competitor to WoW would have been Titan.
Blizzard doesn't want to cannibilize their own customer base, that's as simple as that.
When WoW subscriptions will drop under the $2 Million mark, they might start thinking about making another MMO.
