Today the good old dev's at twightlight war packed their shit and left ship. Anyway good luck to the people that played that game and move onto better mmorpg's.

Hm, looking at the screens it actually looks good. Sadly I never heard of it, so I guess they did not promote it very good.
Would of been a nice replacement to Planetside. A very very big shame.
Crap, this was a game I was waiting for.
I wonder who's next?

I think it's the objective of your past self to make you cringe.
Hm, maybe they should have (at least among the community) to get cash in to help save it.
I bet alot of fans would happely bought it for a reduced price and payed a very low monthly cost to help support a game they loved. I know I would.
my guess is horizons will shit the bed next.
Good riddance!
Not to mention I just saw a TV commercial for SWG last night on BET lol.
Anyways my money is on Horizons going belly up next.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith

I can't remember who said it, or what they said, but Horizons has survived every corporate ball fo bullshit that can be thrown at it, I don't see it going anywhere any time soon.

Horizons has less than 5k players.. it has never had one expansion, the lead dev is out of his mind and its been the same old buggy game since release, you really think its got more than a year left in its tank? heh
I just feel sorry for all the noobs that try the game because SOE does do a good job of making it look badass in the commercial. My brother for example...calls and during the conversation starts talking about how he wants to try it now after seeing the commercials...I filled him in on it....but there are thousands of people who will just go and buy it.
As for it going belly up...I hope it does for the thousands of player hours they threw in the garbage.
I will admit when I was wrong. I gave it some thought. They very well may be soon to die. I became bored with my current mmorpg and thought, "Hmm. I wonder how my TKA/Pistoleer is doing" (something like that at least).
I then proceeded to check patch notes since I last played. Just to see if it has become more appealing. I noticed all the NGE stuff. No where better to learn about that then on forums. I was amazed as to the bad publicity that is out there via forums. That single handedly told me NOT to reinstall and renew.
With that being said I do believe that they are going to be hurting for new customers who use the internet to research.
Whether SWG did it to themselves or if it is the masses of players who are disgruntled, the future may not look so great for them. (Besides I always thought SOE's customer support was worthless. That is what makes someone bitter if they need account help)
Believe SWG will die all you want. I left the game myself. But the bottom line is that it won't die unless SOE & LucasArts pulls the plug. If they don't yank it it'll continue to coast along for quite some time. There are still a lot of folks who evidently like it if server pops that folks are posting screenies of are any indicator.
Guess there's no accounting for taste.
I too think Horizons is very likely the next one to fold. They have been operating in the red for a loooooooong time now.... They still have under 10k subs which means they aren't even breaking even... and haven't recouped their development costs either.

Horizons must bring in small profits or it wudnt be running.
Horizons has a great world and crafting system problems with it tho:
Performance : run it on low and your FPs will still be low :S If they fixed that then im sure more would play it.

Hmm? I'm running a lot of the settings on high and I get around 20FPS, which is very good for my system, because I never go above 30 FPS in any game. However, I wouldn't expect Horizons to exist by 2007.

Tried to put everything on Max (which i expected to be able to do as i can on any game but EQ2, altho i can run it on extreme)
FPS jumping around like crazy totally unplayable.
If i turn it down and down the game just looks horrid

Horizons might have a pretty world and a decent crafting system, but the combat is dreadful. In my opinion, that makes it a bad game. I would probably choose Horizons as the next commercially launched game to die. At least out of those you can buy in a shop. I'm sure there are lots of smaller, indie game that pop in and out of existance from time to time.
Not true Scara,
HZ has under 10k subscribers. General knowledge is that an MMORPG needs to be bringing in 10k+ accounts just to break bare minimum even with minimal support and bug fixing updates. So either they're operating in the red or they aren't fixing anything anymore... or their devs are working for free, in their spare time, or something.
Either way... it's barely on life support at this point.
That said Ryzom may be soon to fall as well since they're already in bankruptcy protection. Dunno whether they've gained subscribers or not though. MMORPGCHART.COM doesn't even rank them.

Its just a matter of time before Horizons bites it. You can just see the frantic fans trying to support their game thats on the death bed. I respect the players tho for supporting what they truly love to play but they must look at the statiscs there is no way a mmorpg can survive with around 5k subscribers and population keeps decreasing they NEED financial support.
Oh, I had forgotten about Ryzom. There could be a race between Horizons and Ryzom for next one to pop out of existance. That's a shame, too, really. Although I only played for a brief time after I had been in the beta, I'll be sorry to seem them go, if they do. I didn't much care for the game overall, but it has some clever bits to it and I thought they had a really staff. The community is pretty decent too... mature and thoughtful.
