Anyone have anything to say about "Treasure of Aht Urhgan"? Heard any rumors? I'm really hoping they add more than just one new job. New weapons and armors would be pretty nice too. I think they need to give BST some more pting capabilities. It pretty much seems to suck to like playing BST and not get any pt invites.

Ya i'm way pumped. I'm not sure they will have low end content but still, new stuff is always good.
A wish list would be rad to start with the topic of the expansion. Maybe some extra jazz they will add.
Looking at the whole context of the expansion, I'm going to say that besides Bluemage, Dancer might possibly be a new job as well. I had heard rumors about Blue Mage, Dancer, and Geomancer (mages that cast spells based on the terrain they stand on. They were in FFT).
When you look at the jobs section you see Blue Mage to the far left...
To me it looks like they can fit at least two more jobs in there.
I noticed that too. Hopefully that will be the case. Someone in-game said that Mystic Knight from FFT is also a possibility but I dunno what that is all about.
There is also a bit of a rumor spreading about in my server and some forums about Gun Mage (like Yuna from FFX-2). Now that would be pretty damn cool! It would implement a new style of play all together. Some ppl r saying they would like to c a job that uses time magic (Time Mage??). Personally I find that hard to implement in an MMORPG. Such a job would be unfair in Ballista first of all. Time Mage stands in a corner,freezes the enemies or slows them down,melees go and chop 'em up.
I heard about eh gun mage as well. So, it must be a pretty damn good rumor.
I hope they do something awesome to get rid of the gil sellers and maybe promote soloing. Just so FF can attract more members.

They'd better do something about the gil-sellers cause they have started to get on my nerves totally. Not only can I acquire the 3.5mil needed to buy Jujitsu Gi but they r overcamping the NM that drops it as well!
The thing that made me mad was when a mob could hit you when they wheren't even close to you.
A gun mage would be pretty sweet...
I'm not an expert on this so correct me if I'm wrong, but RNGs don't use Guns as often as Bows. So all those guns kind of go to waste... but give them up to the Gun Mages and you got some good uses. =P Not only that but it'd be kinda cool to see a Gun Mage.
On the RNG usingg bows over guns, it's just a RNG's preference, some use bow, some use xbow, and some use guns...different situations fit better for different weapons.
On the characters thing...I could be wrong, but I think SE released information that they would impliment 3 new jobs; however they would only confirm one job until the release date(prolly to keep FF fanatics excited about the release guessing what it could be). IMO though you'll see a new tank to even our the party system since PLD and NIN are the only jobs that are preferred to tank in higher levels, you'll see another melee (Blue Mage if they didn't screw it up so that Red Mage and Blue Mage are now both mage/melee mix), and another straight mage class; however i could just be a n00b and no clue what I'm talking about and be proved wrong on release day.

I'm not sure what mystic knight there was in FFT. I'm assuming Beowulf?! I would love to see a geomance or time mage. Gun Mage doesn't ring a bell either, are we talking about the Malido(sp) guy? Who knows. A new tank class would be great like Bushidou said.
I think it would be pretty rad if they added cloaks or capes, for each country(Bastok, Sandy, Wind) you play for. It would appear on your avatar and add some more nationality for each player.
I'm just way pumped to see where they go with it. FFXI has got me the most excited about an MMO since the classy mistress Everquest.
I'm assuming that the rumors are referring to Gun Mage as Yuna was in FFX-2. About the new tank class, I heard that Blue Mage will be able to tank. Dunno how that can work out. Probably might have defense spells or really strong armor. Call me carried away,but I would also really like to c a new weapon type for MNK: nunchakus or something along those lines. That would be pretty damn cool!
Mobs hitting you when you aren't even around them piss me off as well. Makes me want to level THF.
A topic given to the creators, each time they ask to hear questions from the fans, is How about; since we can enter the beast mens towns and kill them. Why don't they attack one of the main cities sometimes?
Every time too. Most of the time, they say the same thing "That sounds interesting, we'll have to look into it.

The idea about cloaks/capes is awsome...Id love to run around in a big blue Bastok cape
Sadly I dont think anything like this will be happening, since FF is restriced to the ps2 hardware. I think thats the reason there arent many different faces to chose from etc. Anyway, fingers crossed.
I am not sure if that is really the prob. I think the whole graphics thing is client dependent. Meaning that the better graphs of the PC r viewed differently on the PS2. Could be wrong though. I'm assuming this because the XBOX360 is supposed to have the best graphs for the game so far.
I think the PC version is the same as the ps2 only with higher resolution and farther clipping (viewing?) distance. And I think that will be the case with the xbox version as well, they wont make a whole new graphics engine. I dont think they're gonna put that kinda work into the game since its mainly played on ps2 (at least in japan). So the chance of them making a new visible slot (cape) that only a minority of the player base will be able to see is rather slim Im afraid.
edit after some research: At the moment the PC graphics are a direct port of the PS2 with the addition of higher resolution options. However in the next expansion the PC will be getting a texture update to make it look like the 360 version. I dont really know how the 360 version looks but any upgrade is good

I wish the game graphics were like the character creation.

Not might,they ARE releasing it sometime this year. Depends on the old stuff really. I am hoping they will do something about those damn gil-sellers and bot-users.

Did anyone check out the latest updates on the expansion? Corsair job, more mobs, more areas and a probable new nation! Release date also announced: 20th of April!!! More info on the official site!
