Maybe they're planning on releasing the CGI as the next $40 expansion

I haven't finished Act V but...do you guys have "skip cut-scenes" checked? Wondering if there is a CGI but you have it skipped.

I'll find out for myself in a day or two.

Of course not. There is a small "hand-drawn" cutscene at the end, but no CGI like the intro.

Yeah no CGI. But I was so lolz when Tyrael said what he did at the end. I can see where the next expansion is going :D

Shhh, don't ruin the plot for Diablo 4.

Yeah, kind of sucks there is no CGI ending... I just finished Act V today.

Oh well, on to adventure mode!

adventure mode + rift are very fun .... particularly rift .. any mob can be in any zone ... and always a boss to fight at the end. This is the pinnacle of dungeon crawling gameplay.

Before Diablo 4 can be released there has to be another expansion. This time they brought back the Mystic from the D3v beta so they still have to add the talisman system and salvaging outside of town. Maybe even bring the pet back. That should be enough to make people pay another 40-60$. So you are at 130ish $ to play the game you beta tested all these years ago instead of only 50$. Seems to work for Blizz to split games into 3 instead of selling just one. Same with SC2, why sell all 3 campaigns at once when you can make people pay 3 times?

ot: The ending is kind of a let down. You are waiting for the big final after beating freaking Death itself and all you get are some pictures. And what really botherd me, it is short! No problem if they want to use the picture style but then please use more than 9-10 gif like pictures.

How they became such money grubbing leaches ?

Putting out most expensive priced expansion in game history - with only 4 hours content in one act , one class and some new game modes. And than they also try to cut expenses by not making CGI outro...

    Pretty low

Woah if that is the case! Never, ever has the Diablo series had two expacs for one Diablo. That is actually a pretty big deal if that turns out to be true. D1's expac wasn't even published by Blizzard.

Considering that since its release I have already spent 15 hours playing RoS, I think it is well worth the money. As said elsewhere, if you are putting in lots of time in a game, the upfront fee seems not all that much for entry.

I don't feel screwed at all for having put money into this expac. It has delivered and that quite well. I am not a fanboi before you might say something in that vein. I refused to buy SC2 because I did not like how Blizzard monetized it, but in the case of D3 and RoS I do not feel that it was a lowdown cash grab.

The complaint about 4 hours is not legit .. since it does not take into account of adventure mode + rift. And yes, act 5 took me roughly 4 hours too, but that is not the main attraction of RoS. It is adventure mode + rift .. essentially infinite random dungeon + quests until you are sick of it.

And so far, it is still very fun to me, and well worth the money.

I found the xpac to be worth it.. That single Act can gobble up quite a bit of time if you actually clear everything as well as the random quests that appear, especially in Westmarch Commons..

However the true bread and butter is that Adventure Mode or, MMO mode as I like to call it. I would like for them to expand upon this mode.. And it would make perfect sense, since Tyrael has already spoke about the Nephalim having a decision to make.. INTRODUCE FACTIONS! Ones that you can choose to fight for and have different quests, rewards and such..

Also sounds like they may eventually add a dark and light system like the Old Republic games.. That would be cool too, to see you get a darkened red glow to your eyes and body based on who you help and decisions you've made while adventuring in adventure mode..

They have set themselves up with tons of expansion options with adventure mode, the game could really open up from here..

infinite content? you are in awe of a hamster weel build of reusing old stuff. It's not a big feat, it's the same assets, the same dungeon generation code with some restrictions disabled. Big deal, probably took 2 coders 3weeks max including bounties.

You mean like what MMOs do too? Make you run the same dungeons a billion times and charge you a sub for it. I remember when Torchlight did the "infinite" dungeon thing people were like "amagaaaad this is revolutionary, runicgame Is DA BEST". Blizzard do it, AMAGAD LAMEEEE.

You mean like Malthael falling to his death kind of like how they had one for Baal in "Throne of Destruction"?

How about showing a possible glimpse of Diablo, Durial, Andarial, Mephisto, and/or Baal being released into the world? Which could have easily been a follow up to the next game/expansion?

No, instead we get some text scrolling with a quick voiceover from Tyreal and an animated novel cutscene for the RoS ending.

Aren't you the guy who said you would never buy it? If so, you didn't get anything and shouldn't complain at all.

    This is the crucial point:

Blizz did the randomized dungeon design already in d3 and i praised that decision back then. Adventure mode in ros is just the same code with parameters adjusted sold as a new feature which it simply isn't. It's good that they created adventure mode but i don't like  pretending that it took much effort. Even the idea isn't impressive as it has been requested by the community numerous times.
