Elder Scrolls Offline

TrixxellTrixxell Member UncommonPosts: 17

Elder Scrolls Offline seems to be the norm for the last 3 days.

So what have you been doing to kill time for the numerous downtimes?

Any good ESO Websites / Guides / Informationals have you found while not being able to to play?

I'm hoping that the fan base throws this garbage release to the wolves...

They sell/offer early access and end up having the servers down every other day for 10+ hours at times.  Now the servers are down again removing even more "early access" time from people.

Basically they took money from players to let them play early and beta test one last time for them.

Its only offline for a few hours while they prepare the servers for official launch.

Oh and there is already plenty of other threads on this already ;)

Basically they shafted Europeans from playing today so that Americans can play 1 day early :)

@OP, I like it. The Elder Scrolls Offline. I will put that in my signature!

As irritating as it is to have the servers down, that game is just that good. There's no way I'm gonna give it up. Or let it down. Or even run around and desert it.

Actually you didn't pay for early access unless you bought off of ebay like an idiot, its just a perk.  I for one would rather have them fix things (which they have fixed almost all the bugged quests in starter areas over the last 2 days, then have them not be functional at launch.  The amount of stuff they have fixed from early beta until  now is astounding.

This is untrue , there was only one extended period of downtime , not every other day as you claim .. ;)

Oh and its not garbage either , only in your rather short sighted view of things ..

Game has never been offline even for a minuted during my play sessions.

It has been offline when most of NA has been working or in school. I feel for EU players a bit but question why so many hardcore gamers have so much free time. They do nearly nothing for society yet are some of the most vocal complainers on the planet.

Game has been down 3 days in a row during prime time. Today is the last stroke as they pretty much took it down from 7pm to 12 am EU time. But it's great I might play the game on Friday during prime time, ooh wait, Friday is for going out and getting drunk ;D

Been having a great time playing the game and these little down times to make the game better is a big plus to me.

Every time I've wanted to log in and play, I've been able to.    Then again, I don't waste my vacation days taking off for MMO launches for these exact reasons.

My guess is that after this weekend, things will settle down and become a bit more reliable / stable.

Well I'm in the Uk and it wasn't so bad , and it is such a shame that there are so many whiners , especially when they talk BS most of the time anyway .

Agreed 100%. I find it hard to think of a more sad reason to take vacation days.

Agreed. I only get 10 vacation days this year. I'm not wasting them on a game I can play everyday. I'll spend some of them for my annual visit to see my parents, sister, and her family, some of them taking my wife to area SciFi Conventions, and some of them on a destination vacation for my wife and I. Usually, I take them around holiday weekends to get the most  out of my vacation time.

I can't believe people will actually take holidays for MMOs/games. I like to take my holidays to go travel and get drunk in a foreing country! Beach parties and sightseeing! For me any holiday that you take and stay in your home city is wasted vacation. They call it....staycation :D

Well, you paid for testing the game before launch.

You should not whine about downtime from time to time.

My problem is even worse - I have not been able to login at any time. And I don't even know if my account will work upon release.

Stop crying. There are people with worse problems.

LOL, the servers only came down twice, one for 8 hours over night and the other time just now....    You know this game is great when people think the server coming down two times feels like an eternity to them.

Patience is a Virtue.  image   Go download the soundtrace on Amazon right now, its only 8.99 for all 47 songs, and listen to it for your fix while sever is down, that's what I'm doing, just got it tis morning.

Been a long time since i just wanted to explore and explore and explore and...just stand still to look around.

And about the offline joke ?

We want you to know that everyone who was part of Early Access will be granted an extended grace period until Sunday at 8AM EDT/12PM GMT before being required to transition your account to live. This will cover those who purchased ESO from an online retailer and won't be getting your box shipped in time and also gives anyone who purchased digitally more Early Access time."

    ^This

Maybe they could have created an alternate universe to do the maintenance....

Seriously though...they COULD have done it at a better time today. But we would still have some people butt hurt around here.

Hmm, let me think. Could they have chosen a better time? I mean it really does make perfect sense that the most logical time to take down the servers is during prime time. I mean it's not like anyone plays during prime time. I am pretty sure the outrage if they took them down for maintenance at like 3am in the morning would've beeen way worse!

The average gamer will just accept it. Sure there's the few overly dramatic who will scream fraud and demand a refund every time they don't like something. But let's get real here it's a game. I would seriously be embarrassed if I acted the way some people do.

    ?

You do read right? I said they could have picked a better time. Just because it's "prime time" where you are doesn't make it the ULTIMATE OF ALL EVILS.

Yet another hack having NO CLUE what goes on during early release.  This is totally NORMAL and expected during early access.  Obviously you have never been in one from the sound of it.  Does it suck?  Yes.....but trolling with your title is weak.  They just posted this on the official forums for all the crybabies who probably flooded CS with complaints.  Gotta love the new generation of gamer's with this ME ME ME  instant graftification mindset.
