Well, I believe with time games can be changed for the better. Many say patch 2.0 for Diablo III helped the game a lot, and that Reaper of Souls is pretty fun. It's even been in the top three on Twitch since it's launch -- though I always say that a game that makes the top number of viewers has something fundamentally wrong with it, since people enjoy watching it more than playing. Yet still, it's valuable marketing in it's own right in some cases.
The same went with Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 and how it got better over time with a new team heading it. Then it re-released into a game that was rebuilt from the ground up and still has a respectable number even after six months. The flaws that the game has will likely be heard by development and fixed in an expansion or something. Though that does not help those who bought it now and feel buyer's remorse. Neither does messing with "the numbers" when said numbers seem to be a "look at this instead" ploy when it comes to beta registrants compared to box sales.
Many say that a game has one chance to impress; FFXIV was only an exception because it was marketed as and, indeed, was a brand new game. Most everything was from scratched compared to a few alterations when it came to games like Unholy Wars that made people repurchase a box whereas FFXIV gave their new version for free to those who had the first (and yet still had almost 2 million sales).
When speaking strictly of server problems on early access, it happens quite often. People will forget and move on, and enjoy the game if they like it. Though the honeymoon phase is just beginning.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.
If the game was good people would be playing it, not defending it on the forums lol. When I'm happy and really love a game, the last place I'm at on opening week is defending it to the internet. If you're bragging about FREE beta registrations and not sales or current number of players you also don't have a foot to stand on. The game will go the way of SWTOR, not because it's horrible, it's not a bad game, just because it's not worth the money / month, it's too different from the Skyrim experience people loved, and the market has changed (there are too many free or other games out there to play for them to capture a large market and make them pay 15 a month).
Company has lied at every turn and the game is just another WoW clone with barely any recognizable TES elements to it.
Really nothing else to it.
It needs to be an MMO.. but anyone saying things like this are delusional. The only other MMO that is less like WoW than ESO is TSW. Just about every element in the game is TES related or exactly like other TES games.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

This the new defence? If some people are saying they like it then people don't like it? Move on please.. you make no sense.

Sad, using 5 million registered beta as a number to make people believe that there is going to be that many playing. As if some of us didn't register multiple times to get into beta. Seriously...very sad.
Where is the number of hours spent staring at the login screen waiting for the servers to come back up during early access?
or
Number of players who were logged into someone else's account
or
Number of mobs that respawn instantly allowing progression to 50 in under 20 hours
Woow just woow you are whine about a maintenance and if you are stupid enough while game is down for maintenance that is your own fault no one else not even company for the post the info about maintenance on there webpage.
Well that say it was problem which should be fix with the maintenance and patch we got once again read there web page and it can happen to most mmo game i still get DC for WoW which almost 10 year and i get lag spike in WoW still.
Well blizzard have same problem with instantly respawn mob in MoP which make people lvl to lvl 90 with in hours of MoP went live that is not again company problem for if people are honest and report those bug in beta it would never have happen in both game.
Even old mmo game do have same problem as new one but thing is you dont hear on public forum for people just like find problem with new mmo game
Definitely cool little facts, I love these types of things, I really enjoyed the one WoW did too. I'm not playing WoW anymore but I did spend nearly a decade playing it so it was just cool to see. I can't wait to see ESO's actual sales of the game, they will definitely be high seeing as how fast the physical Imperial Edition sold out, but I got mine! Well back to the game, stupid UPS delayed my shipment to tomorrow but fortunately Zenimax extended early access to Sunday, which was awesome of them.
Seems like this was just stupid facts about the game. People in these forums turn everything into "The game is doomed". Everyone by now should know that most companies dont post sales figures until the game has been out for a week. That being said I dont think it sold anything astronomical, but definitely sold enough to sustain itself for a while. What I like about this is it seems like this game is going to filter out the idiots. Like all the crybabies that play MMORPG's so they can sit in town and chat all day about stupid things arent going to make it very long in this game. When I was playing the game I was impressed by how friendly and helpfull everyone playing was and that alone sets it apart from almost any other shitty MMO out there. And Im guessing the reason why is because those are the same people on here crying about how bad the game is. At the end of the day I could care less about the numbers, its about the community and how fun the game is. And as much as you all try to say its horrible and so flawed its unplayable, Ive been having more fun on an MMO than I have had in a long time. And the reason I am posting and not playing at the moment is because some of us have jobs.

I registered for beta and tested it for a few weekends but its a bad game so i would never spend a penny on it.. out the 5 to 6 people i play with who also tested in beta only 1 is playing as someone bought the game for him..

Oh come on.
You are aware that the more you defend the game the worse it looks, right? A game stands on its own in front of detractors.
People don't login to forums to state how much fun they're having. Of course the ones having problems are going to bitch and moan. Every game message board I go to is 75% complaining about how terrible the game is. Especially during the first year or so of the game's launch. After that it settles down.

I don't mind. AAA companies are in for popularity and the money.

True gamers would be playing the game.
Not trying to chat about numbers of players.
Why has pretending to be a gaming became so cool?
Perhaps you don't know what an mmorpg is. /shrug
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
No, they targeted the WoW player AND the mmorpg player - and did a good job at it.
Perhaps things aren't always black or white, hmmm?
This is obvious
"This may hurt a little, but it's something you'll get used to. Relax....."

So those beta numbes mean nothing at all..
