When did this start happening? EQ and DAOC and WoW kept out whiners? Am I living in bizarro world?
Don't answer that last question.
That was my thought.
Didn't happen with FFXIV:ARR
Yeah... really liked FFXIV:ARR, but quit shortly after 2 months because it ended up having an absolute horrible community I hadn't experienced in quite some time.
It was like if the worst of the worst from WoW had switched to that game. /shrug
Wildstar guys were so impressed with how Box+Sub is working for keeping whiners out of ESO community. They are considering 1000$ price for box and 200$ monthly sub.
That is going to work even better!
Hehe. In next news - ESO player thankful for poking him in the eye with hot knife.
I haven't been this entertained by a specific mmorpg community since SWTOR.
All these posts about ESO being the mmorpg that will save our souls are quite hilarious.
It's an ok game... but please contain your spaghetti.
Even more fun than GW2? nah!!! GW2 was the 'holy grail' of MMOS which was going to change the MMOS as we know it.
lol yeah GW2 was also fanboyed into oblivion... but at least it was b2p and I kind of enjoyed it for about a month.
Being able to go back and play it for a few days before I get bored (or just see the updates) is also very convenient.
Comparingly, ESO is audacious with it's pricing.
TruI agree about the pricing, but the fanboyism with GW2 was huge. Why do you think other started calling it "the second coming" or "Jesus"? Because the fans were going insane with it.
Funny fact about it. I remember some people saying things like "i can never go back to standart, non dynamic questing" because GW2 ruined it for them. Now, a few of those same posters, from my memory atleast, are loving ESO static questing.
Both of the sytstem are good IMO, but t's pretty fun watching the fanbases here at mmorpg.com.

Gw2's dynamic events are as much quests as rifts in Rift ( lol xD)
tbh this is the first time my clan can bring in everyone into the RvR, we are around 100-150 players but most games we have been running several games being a sponsored multi gaming we haven't been able to play with full force-.- to now
gw2 we ran 30-36 in na but now we will be able to blob really hard full force I hope
VERY glad to hear positive comments like the OP has given. When you get down to it, all a developer can do is write a story and hope the majority of players appreciate it. I personally don't think games are made to please everyone. If you don't like it suggest some changes! If the changes aren't made then find another game. Sure problems happen and some game companies are historically just bad at customer relations, but I tend to judge a game based on how I feel while playing it based on immersion, mechanics and lore. Seems ESO is a win in that regard, to me.

Well technically it did... it gave us bastardized games like ESO )

Very true
Well if you don't see Gw2 in TESO then you are blind, no disrespect.
Hey didnt you hear ?

it is all true
...letting me play ESO beta.
I enjoy the game, but will not be buying it atm as I simply do not have the time to play any more MMOs.
The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.
