Anyone agrees? I feel i am pressing an ability and sometimes it occurs, sometime it doesnt , or it can delay for 2 sec and then occur, The transistion between abilities is bad also . I feel like there is a hidden gcd based on animations and not on skills. It feels random
Weapon swap is so unresponsive that i never use it in combat. This doesnt look for proper pvp combat. As far as i remember swtor had a similar issue. Not many complaints about that so maybe its just me.
ps: Sorry for bad english not my native languange

Ability lag? Not so much for most part , maybe slightly in Cyrodill.
But the weapon swap lag is problematic espeically in Cyrodill.
From the sounds of it, the lag that does occur might be related when there is a high load of people. Not an uncommon issue as many other MMos tend to have this delay when there are many people around. It sounds like a net issue rather then just poorly optimized net code like SWTOR had that caused purposeful delays in skills.
That being said, it might be hard on their end to completely account for some delay at times, though they are likely able to do some stuff to it. More extreme cases might end up being a mixture on their side combined with your own system/internet not being able to handle all the action and as such having that delay as your system is overwhelmed with data that it delays your own actions going through.
Where does it say Hero engine? My splash screen says Havok. Havok is a totally separate engine then Hero.
Havok is a physics engine only.
I have a herocloud... I've worked in heroengine for quite some time and I've become fairly familiar with all the bells and whistles... It's heroengine. You can tell by the way it loads the doodads, "billboards..." The way the interface and the animations function... It says so in the installer... Havok refuses to let developers use their systems without the splash screen.. HeroEngine does NOT force developers to give them credit... yet, they left the heroengine splash screen in the installer... Likely because they recognize HeroEngine as being above and beyond any other framework out there.
Fact is, they're using an amalgamated engine that imports many of havok's features (like physics and collision detection) into the heroengine framework. if you've ever used heroengine, you'd realize that it is an amazing platform to work on. Saying they're using HeroEngine isn't an insult.. Them denying that they're using HeroEngine is just their way of dodging the damage SWTOR has done to the brand.
Havok is much more than just a physics engine.. They use a LOT of features of the Havok engine but the framework is all HeroEngine. The ESO engine is a combination of the two engines, plus dozens of other systems, some of which were probably developed in-house.

Yep, it happens to me and my friend as well. We don't even bother using the other bar. It's so unreliable and random I don't risk it.
Basically it goes many ways.
I hit the button and a few seconds later a swap occurs OR no swap happens at all.
Sometimes if I hit it a few times it takes a few seconds to swap then immediately swap back, thus occurring in me pressing the skill key on the same bar instead of the bar I wanted.
Trying to attack with clicks then swap is equally bad. There's a pause, then I swap, then another pause and the attacks continue. Sometimes my light attacks turn into charged attacks even though I pressed the button once. I can hold the heavy attack down and sometimes it will keep charging to full even though I'm doing partial charge. Sometiems my attacks flat out ignore me.
All of this occurs for skills as well. I tried using my health leech ult and died because nothing happened for a few seconds but it had no problem consuming the ult. Right now my favorite is getting stuck in vampire drain animation. I have to click to attack and spam ESC or wait until I get unstuck.
Then interrupts/blocks are fun. You can stand right on a guy and use interrupt and have nothing happen. You can run a mile away from a mob and still get stunned by the charge up attack that you need to block. Sometimes damage seems to randomly spike and I'll fall over dead.
When I got into the ESO beta, I was literally JUST playing around on my HeroBlade.. I had gotten FPS functionality and was exploring my world, and had just created a custom ability that mimicked a bow-and-arrow... I had also just rigged in a system for aiming at objects to "target" them with the intent of disabling tab-targetting (much like what ESO did). So when I got the email and it finished downloading, I logged out of my HeroBlade and logged right into ESO, and it was painfully obvious: they lied about not using HeroEngine. I was delighted because I know what HeroEngine was capable of.. It's not the engine that displeased me, but rather the development direction... I digress; the look, the feel... What was most telling for me was the little animation glitches like when using abilities while using standard attacks (which have been since cleaned-up quite a bit).. these were issues I was running into in HeroEngine...
It's not HeroEngine... It's ElderScrollsSuperHavokHeroEngine.
Definately has an ability delay. Happens in PVP and PVE but its more obvious in PVP. I always dread the moment I have to weapon swap in PVP. Most of the times it takes 1 or 2 seconds to actually switch weapons ( in pvp or any situation that requires reflexes that's a lot of time), sometimes it doesn't work at all pressing the weapon swap does nothing, other times it switches 2 times in a row making the swap useless.
It does work as intended sometimes but it always waits for an animation to end in order to be available for activation. You can't interrupt an ability or normal/strong attack by weapon swapping.
This is my major issue with PVP at the moment for sure, it impacts gameplay constantly and needs to be fixed.
I've done a LOT of pvp and got fed up with the lack of responsiveness making my cancel my sub for the time being. ESO needs some big patches to polish the game, releasing a game like this is like shooting themselves on the foot. I ll be back for the epic battles once they are properly playable.
You may have ability delay at times, but it seems unlikely that you would always have it. I've seen it occur but for the most part stuff is instant so no, the game does not have built in ability delay.

Same advice with SWTOR will apply I guess....
Keep rapidly pressing the button you desire, until the skill goes off.
Keeps the action high too.

I think based on your history eso players should use the same advice Swtor players used.
Same advice towards Karteli that Swtor player used for years...ignore.
Swtor does not have ability delay that was fixed over two years ago.
