Wow this coming from the guy who said FF XIV ARR would go F2P in 3 months after launch. Told us it would fail so bad. Well here we are 8-9 months later and the game is going strong.
So to your rant about the game "failing", you are way off. This game will go for 8-10 years and still keep the sub.
I mean did you play beta? I mean that's like a demo dude. You know, a try it before you buy it kind of thing.
Please don't tell me you just bought the game without any knowledge of the game what so ever. Tons of youtube videos out there. Forum posts. Articals, etc.
I'll never go on "blind faith" without playing first or getting details and watching gameplay videos.

After the recent content they pushed out, more people are playing. So....yeah. Anything else?
Yes, you are not comprehending it. You aren't understanding that they aren't talking about current subscribers. They are talking about the total number that have subscribed since the game started. It is made clear in the last sentence what the are talking about when they announced 2 million registered users. They do it this way to purposefully make it sound like they are doing better than they are. Your quote even ends with the following:On April 16, 2014, Square Enix announced that more than two million people have registered an account for the game.If WoW were to use total registered users, it would likely have over 100 million. Your quote doesn't say anything about active subscribers. But you made the claim that they had 1.8 million subs. They don't and your wiki-quote supports that.
OH MY GOD. I'm not talking about registered users. Never once mentioned it in my statements above. I was stating the game has 1.8 million subscribers due to the fact that 1.8 million people created 6.7 million characters and logged more than 400 million hours. This^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That is what I was telling people. Your getting off track and you gotta check my other posts. I don't care if they have 2 million regestered accounts. That's not what I have been talking about at all. Not even close.
They don't have 1.8 million subscribers. That's what you continue to be wrong about. There is no mention of it anywhere that you linked. I'm not really sure why you want this to be true so badly. They never mentioned that they have 1.8 million subscribers. They said that 1.8 million players created 6.7 million characters. That's over the games lifetime and has nothing to do with active subscriptions. I'm going to let this one go though since you seem to be incapable of accepting this fact.
"As of February 2014, 1.8 million players have created 6.7 million characters and logged over 400 million hours of play time."My god people are dumb. Are you sure you read it right? It says as of February 2014. So I am right and people here hate to be proven wrong. It seems like everybody is misreading besides me.HMMM the game is not F2P so..... that means 1.8 million subscribers. I mean how am I wrong. If 1.8 million people created 6.7 million characters and logged 400 million hours then how am I wrong? Can nobody put 2 and 2 together? Is this just going right over your head or are you trolling me?
To put it into WoW terminology:
If Blizzard were to say that 100M unique subscribers have created 670M characters and logged 20 billion hours would you say that WoW has 100M subscribers? No.
What it would mean is that over its life time there have been 100M subscribers some of whom still subscribe.
And that is what the FFXIV letters mean. It has had 1.8M subscribers over its life - some of whom still subscribe.
How many still subscribe?
Well the 400M hours played number suggests an average of about 220 hours per account. Now whilst some TESO folks have already logged that many hours in less than their 30 days included others will have logged a lot less. Even so super casual players will rack up 220 hours in fairly short order; so an average between "hardcore" and "casual" will be ... something between the included 30 days and 1 extra month say. On average of course - the reality we assume will be that some subscribe for longer and many will leave after the first 30 days.
However it does suggest that the answer is "not that many".
Seems like everybody today can not read for crap.
"Sales and subscriptions[edit] By the end of the first week, the PS3 version of A Realm Reborn was placed second in Japan's sales charts, with 184,000 physical copies sold.[81] By the following day, after the promised maintenance period, the game reached a record of 325,000 concurrent connections, with an estimate of roughly 7,000 per server.[82] Naoki Yoshida announced, in a Letter from the Producer at TGS, that the game had gained one million unique subscribers.[83] As of February 2014, 1.8 million players have created 6.7 million characters and logged over 400 million hours of play time.[84] On April 16, 2014, Square Enix announced that more than two million people have registered an account for the game.[85]
Among the Famitsu 2013 Top 100, a listing of the top 100 Japanese retail software sales for the year of 2013 from data collected by Famitsu's parent company Enterbrain, the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn ranked number 32, with 244,574 physical retail sales within Japan.[86]"
READ IT VERY CAREFULLY OKAY. GO VERY SLOE IF YOU HAVE TO.
See how subscribers and registered accounts are 2 very different thing's.
Also do your math and you'll see your numbers and calculations are over 5 million. So what your saying is 5 million subscribers? I don't know what you were trying to do here bet it did not work LMAO.
Dude, i'm a big fan of ARR but you need to stop spreading this. ARR does not have 1.8 million subscribers. All they said was that there has been over 2 million gamers that has registered to play the game. It doesnt mean that they have subscribed.
You sir need to stop telling peopple to read carefully when you are totally reading the information wrong. No matter how many times you post the same thing, people will read it the same because you're the one that is wrong.
I think ARR is doing good but not 1.8 subscriptions good, they are probably around 600-800k subscribers right now and that's just a guess because no where in any of your sources has they released subscription numbers.
It is too easy and because of this it took the heart out of the game.
For example.
Lock picking can be done by anyone and it is super simple. It would have more heart if it was hard, had a skill with it, or maybe class based.
Crafting is also something that anyone can do. I mean so far I craft all my own stuff, armor, runes, bows, swords. Also racial books are easy to come by making it easy to craft other races armors sets.
Problems like these seem small to most people but I think they take alot away from the game. Something like being a armor crafter should make you feel unique at high level because someone else chose something else. There is none of that here because everyone can do anything. It would even be more uniqe if you could only craft your racial armor. But no that is not the case, they cheaply give everyone everything.
It is basically a single player game with a semi fun pvp zone with no real rewards for killing and no penalty for death.
However the quests are fun and I still think it is a 1 or 2 month game at the most.
Because you are so wrong in your assessment of crafting, I'm going to disregard all your other statements.
Someone on tamriel foundry did the math...and if you want to max all crafting lines, it will take about 2.5 YEARS. And that is assuming that you start your next research cooldown the instant the previous one finishes.
You have literally, no clue of what you're talking about. The different race armor styles is absolutely not what makes a crafter unique. I personally can craft every races style (including the 4 rare ones: barbaric, primal, ancient elf, and daedric). But I have only specialized in weaponsmithing. I currently have 2 traits researching that will take 6 DAYS to complete and another that will take 2 days. I have been constantly researching since launch and I only have 2 weapons with 5 traits researched. The rest have 1 or 2.
There were people playing Korean/Russian Archeage for ages now. Don't know how excactly but there were a lot of EU/US streams if u wanted to check the game out. Also I've been in Archeage alpha for 10 days now myself (and there was an invite wave earlier than that too). SO its possible he got an invite too, if he wasn't playing the foreign versions.
I asked and no he's not in alpha. And nobody has been playing for "ages" the game came out a year ago overseas LMAO.

Did everybody just omit this when reading anything? Seriously? It's there in black and white. How oblivious do you have to be to not read this line out of all of them:
"Naoki Yoshida announced, in a Letter from the Producer at TGS, that the game had gained one million unique subscribers."
Get it now? I hope so. Because it seems NOBODY saw this line in EVERY single post I quoted.
So if i'm wrong it does not matter. They still have 1 million subs and when the patch came out, and PS4 hit, they gained even more subs. So technically, yes, 1.8 million would be the best guess out there for subscribers.

This is that social aspect you said was missing from the game. Sometimes you have to make the effort to communicate with the population. Or join a guild like I did and have a blast!
So you can't say the social aspect is not there. Again, you have to make the effort.
