My other abilities appear to be fine except when I get these huge lag spikes that are felt throughout the server as per chat complaining so I know I am not alone there either.

Good to hear...I'm not really surprised though.  The problems definitely seem to be with specific abilities/situations.  And I really think some of it is design based, like locking you into a ground-targeted ability until you click, and making the circle VERY hard to see in many situations so you may not even realize that is what is going on.  The game also seems to want to let some animations complete before letting you do anything, which can contribute to perceived sluggishness.

I also think part of it is that I play a lot of twitchy games like FPS's and DOTA2.  So I have a very high expectation when it comes to responsiveness.  If I press a button, and I get no reaction within like 100~ms, it's going to feel slow for me.

Are your crosshairs over the mob? It's very easy, while in melee range, to to be off.

Also, weapon swapping does not work if you're completing an action. It does not animation cancel. This does make it feel a bit sluggish imo, but once you know that this is how it works it's very easy to let your current ability finish before weapon swapping.

You don't have a global cooldown between abilities, but you do have to wait for the animation of one to complete before you can start another.  If you're not aware that this is how the system works it can come across as lag (e.g. why can't I do X immediately after Y?)

That's a good point, and that may be the case with things like uppercut that are melee single target abilities.  Personally, I would have preferred if they made it so your melee ability just hit the closest enemy to your crosshairs, or whoever you have targeted.  Requiring your crosshairs to be on the enemy in melee range can make for a really inconsistent feeling melee experience, given how much you and the enemy may be moving around.

Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob?
